Hi there!
My name is Femke Bakker.
I am a meditation teacher and I also work as a professor in political psychology.
Let's begin.
Sit comfortably.
Gently close your eyes.
Feel for a moment how you are sitting.
Your feet on the ground.
Your palm in the chair.
Hands in your lap.
Is there any tension in your body?
If yes,
Breathe in and imagine the breath entering that space of tension.
And imagine that with your out breath the tension dissipates.
Again,
Breathe in.
And out.
Is there a dominant thought on your mind right now?
A thought about a problem that you and your co-workers are facing right now.
Let a thought bubble up in a small cloud,
As if it's the thought of a cartoon figure,
And look at it.
Notice how it is at a distance.
Notice how it's no longer in your head.
See how the cloud is slowly floating away.
And know that by letting go of the cloud,
You are deliberately creating room for the solution to pop up.
Let's create some space for that.
Bring your attention to your breath.
Breath flowing in through your nostrils.
Breath flowing out through your nostrils.
Breath flowing in.
Breath flowing out.
In.
Out.
Again,
Feel how you are sitting.
Is there anything different?
Less tension?
More room for solutions to pop up?
Trust that with the quietness you feel now,
It will be easier to find the solutions for your problem.
Now take the time to slowly open your eyes in your own time.
Thank you for meditating with me.
You can continue your day now.
