This meditation is designed to allow you to re-establish a connection with your Inner Child and keep that alive every day. When we are connected with our inner child, life becomes easier and more magical, we perceive life with different eyes. It takes time to heal, be kind to yourself and patient in this process. Welcome to this inner child meditation.

Acting in accordance with your inner child really means being who you are.

Being who you truly are.

Being that part of you that doesn't care about being judged.

Being that part of you that wants to just have fun.

And approaches life with a sense of wonder and ease.

And of course that sounds like a very desirable thing.

But many of us have lost touch with this part of us.

Because there's something that hurts us that stopped who we truly are from coming out.

As a protection mechanism we've turned it back,

We've dumbed it down.

So take in a deep breath for the count of four.

Hold for three.

And release for the count of six.

This is really just to calm down your body and mind.

So now that we've let our body and mind enter this moment with a sense of peace.

I invite you to go back to a moment where your inner child was hurt.

This doesn't need to be anything huge.

It can be other kids laughing at you.

Anything really.

Or it could be something that felt like a really really big thing at the time.

Just sense what were the things you felt back then.

Is it lack of safety?

And get a sense for what type of trauma that may have left in you.

And although trauma might sound like a scary word,

All of us have trauma.

And unless we face it with awareness,

We're not going to get anywhere with healing it.

So breathe slowly and just bring to mind the situation and what type of trauma it left with you.

Breathing slowly.

Breathing slowly.

The next stage is to really show your inner child that you see it.

So imagine yourself right next to your inner child in that moment when it was hurt.

Tell your inner child,

I see you.

I see the pain you are going through.

You're not alone.

I am very aware of what is going on.

And I hold the deepest compassion in my heart for you.

Embrace your inner child and give them a massive hug.

Feeling this true sense of safety in this hug.

And feeling how good it feels that someone has acknowledged this deep pain.

And instead of laughing,

Instead of shutting you down,

Has given you a hug and allowed you to just be.

To express your pain and to not judge you in any way.

Ask your inner child if there is anything they would like to share and get off their chest.

If there is anything that's wearing heavy on their heart that they want to tell you because you are here as the compassionate listener.

This doesn't need to be just about the situation that you brought to mind.

It can be about anything.

This is an open dialogue.

A safe space.

A place of compassion and acceptance.

A place of true healing.

A place of being brave.

Where things are faced and not just bottled up.

But there is no sense of blame for having bottled things up in the past because we all do the best we can.

What is it that you want to tell your inner child?

Knowing that soon they will be playing an ever increasing part in your daily life.

What is it that you know they can benefit from hearing so that they can finally start to be themselves again fully?

Just whatever comes up.

And if nothing comes up,

Just keep breathing slowly and enjoy this connection that you have with your inner child.

Because this simple connection,

Simply having this connection is incredibly healing.

When you learnt to walk and you fell over,

You didn't look around you if anyone saw you so they could laugh at you or judge you.

You just got back up again and you didn't care.

Because you know that failing and falling down is just part of the process.

And that is the type of thing you bring back into your everyday life.

That sense of ease.

Nothing goes wrong,

It's just part of the process.

The sense of not caring about judgement.

Just being yourself.

Being loving.

Being playful.

Looking at the world with wonder and seeing the magic in everything around us.

That is a life worth living.

That is a beautiful life.

So as you go through your day,

Ask yourself,

What would my inner child do right now?

And the answer will come.

Just trust your inner child has never left.

And with doing acts of healing like this,

They will play an increasing and more prominent part in your day.

And it's just such a beautiful thing.

The inner child doesn't get lost in the mind so much.

Doesn't overthink.

Uses the mind as a tool.

It's present in the moment.

It laughs.

It smiles.

Sometimes it cries.

And it's all good.

So let's ask ourselves every single day,

What would my inner child do?

And when we get the chance,

Let's go into meditation and heal our inner child.

But even without meditation,

Just a sense of awareness for things that happened in the past and how they could be impacting you now is already absolutely amazing and healing.

Take another deep breath in for the count of four.

Moving for the count of three.

Do that a couple more times.

So as we get ready to end this meditation,

I thank you for meditating with me today.

I wish you a beautiful day or beautiful night.

And ask yourself,

What would my inner child do?

Or was my inner child hurt?

Does that explain my behavior and my reaction?

Much love.
