Good morning and welcome to the Artist's Morning.
My name is Darius and this is a 20 minute guided meditation intended to bring a little simplicity,
A little calm,
And maybe even a little creative spark to your day.
If you are sitting or laying down,
Before we close our eyes,
I will invite you just to listen.
Listen to the noises around you in this room.
What's the furthest noise you can hear?
And beginning to bring your attention closer,
What's the nearest noise you are aware of?
Creating our senses as we begin to go inward.
I invite you now to close your eyes.
And continue feeling and observing what might be alive for you in your inner world right now.
This meditation and this time you have carved out for yourself this morning is yours.
So there's nothing you need to do.
There's nothing you must do.
You can decide how far you'd like to go,
How gentle you'd like to be.
I invite you to take a nice easy breath now,
Inhaling deep.
And just letting it go.
Accessing ease and comfort.
Feeling the support of the seat beneath you,
The ground beneath the seat.
Seeing if you can get 1% more comfortable.
Taking a deep breath in.
And just letting it go.
Scanning,
Scan your body.
From your head to your toes.
Getting your attention closer to your body.
Just scanning.
Noticing if there's any place on your body that is asking for more of your attention this morning.
And if you'd like,
Take a deep breath and send love and warmth to those places in your body now.
And if your mind starts to race,
Feel free to use this simple mantra.
Thinking.
Thinking.
Thinking.
And just watch your thoughts.
No need to fix anything.
You are a creative being and you have many thoughts,
Many of which are incredible and lovely.
Thinking.
Thinking.
Thinking.
And then if you'd like to go deeper,
Follow your breath and repeat the mantra.
Breathing.
Breathing.
And if you follow your breath,
Deep inside your body,
Deep inside your heart,
What do you feel in this moment?
And if your mind races again,
You can let it or you can use the mantra.
Thinking.
Thinking.
Thinking.
Breathing.
Breathing.
Breathing.
Breathing.
Breathing.
Breathing.
Breathing.
And then if you like,
Feeling.
Feeling.
Feeling.
And if you feel like you are breathing,
You feel safe and supported,
I invite you to give yourself permission to feel your heart,
Your beautiful,
Powerful,
Brilliant heart.
How is your heart in this moment?
Feeling.
Feeling.
Feeling.
Feeling.
And if you like,
You can even put one hand on your heart and give it a little cuddle,
Let it know your desire is to be close.
And if you pay very close attention,
Sometimes our hearts have a message for us,
A whisper,
A demand,
A desire,
A laughter,
A cry.
Is there something your heart would like to share with you this morning?
Breathing.
Breathing.
Breathing.
Taking a nice deep breath into your heart,
Feeling your heart.
Taking a nice deep breath into your heart,
Feeling,
Feeling,
Feeling.
Is there something your heart wants?
Just listen.
Is there something your heart longs to create?
Is there something your heart longs to express?
Can you hear your heart song,
A melody,
A tune,
Unique to just your heart?
Maybe it's a hum.
Maybe there are lyrics.
Maybe it's just a feeling.
Is there something your heart is ready to create?
Breathing.
Thinking.
Breathing.
Feeling.
For these last few minutes,
I'd like to invite you to imagine what your life would be like if you chose to create that thing.
If you chose to express and share your heart song with the world.
This is play.
This is fun.
Don't worry about logistics.
Don't try to be reasonable or rational.
Access your inner child and have fun.
How would you feel creating that thing?
How would you feel creating that thing?
How would you feel creating that thing?
How would you feel creating that thing?
Nice job.
Wherever you went,
Whatever you imagined,
Whatever you created,
However close you stepped into your heart.
Nice job.
As our meditation comes to an end,
I want you to take two deep breaths,
Breathing in this creative air you co-created.
This space of gratitude.
Breathe it in.
The air here is different than normal air.
Breathe it in deep into your heart.
Bravo,
Artist.
Bravo,
Creator.
Now we will return to the rooms in which we started finding our natural breath,
Slowly opening your eyes as we begin the writing component of the artist's morning.
