Let Go Of Limiting Beliefs
In today's session with Darius Bashar, you will work through a process of letting go of limiting beliefs. We are all too familiar with that voice in our head that makes us abandon our ambitions and damages our self-confidence. The voice of self-sabotage. Most of us are aware of it but don't see it as something that actually undermines our growth. Meanwhile, our self-limiting beliefs have a direct impact on our lives and are detrimental to our state of mind. Darius invites you to come back to who you are and what you are actually capable of through a specially designed guided practice.

Welcome to day three of establish a positive mindset.
A challenge here on Insight Timer crafted to help you break free from negative thought patterns,
Overcome self-limiting beliefs and embrace a mindset of abundance and possibility.
Let's jump into today's session.
Hello beautiful humans of Insight Timer.
My name is Darius and I am so excited you are here.
I want to welcome you back for this establishing a positive mindset challenge.
This Insight Timer challenge has been designed to help you break free from negative thought patterns,
Overcome self-limiting beliefs and step into the mindset of abundance and possibility.
The practice I will be sharing with you today can help you quickly shift your perspective and break free from those self-limiting beliefs that prevent you from truly stepping into your highest potential.
Now before we get into the practice,
I'd love to have a brief conversation with you around what are limiting beliefs and how can they affect our mental health.
For me,
Beliefs are the foundation in which we build our lives in.
I like to imagine them as this beautiful garden space that each of us has been given that lives in our mind.
Now for a garden to grow successfully,
It needs intention and attention.
It needs our input in terms of what we want to grow in it and then it needs our regular maintenance.
The default approach is we let the randomness of life step into our garden space,
Grab random seeds and just throw it into our garden.
And we keep our fingers crossed that hopefully something relevant,
Something beautiful,
Something meaningful will grow in this garden space.
Lots of the seedlings of our beliefs we have got at a very young age from our families,
From our cultures,
From our society.
And some of them are helpful and some of them are not.
What's important is this is your garden,
Your intentions,
Your desires,
Your creativity is what is meant to grow here.
Now all of us have been exposed to limiting beliefs.
I don't care who you are,
All of us.
That's a key component of the human experience.
I'm not good enough.
I'm not smart enough.
I'm not pretty enough.
I'm not old enough.
I'm too old.
I'm not lovable.
I'm not likable.
People don't respect me.
I can't make a relationship work.
I can't make money.
There's an infinite amount of limiting beliefs that we have been exposed to,
That have been thrown into our garden.
And if we're not careful,
Those limiting beliefs will grow and continue to grow.
One of the biggest challenges with limiting beliefs are that we don't consciously know they're impacting our lives.
We mistake our beliefs for facts,
For reality.
This happens when we are so far zoomed into a very specific situation that everything looks like a mountain.
Everything looks impossible.
The solution is to regain our awareness by consciously choosing to zoom out and get bigger.
Zoom out and get bigger so that we can come back to who we truly are and what we've always been capable of.
Now I've got some good news for you and some bad news for you.
I'll share the bad news first.
The bad news is no matter what practice,
What experience,
What tips,
What tools you are exposed to,
You will forever continue to experience limiting beliefs.
There's no magic bullet.
The good news is with the right practices,
With the right tools,
With the right experience,
You can shift your perspective literally in half a second.
It's not always that quick and that easy,
But the more you practice,
The more you garden with intention and attention,
The easier it gets to shift your perspective and to grow something beautiful,
Something meaningful,
Something honest to your heart and your potential.
Today's practice will be a guided meditation where I will help you shift your perspective.
Let's begin.
Your eyes are open.
I'd like to invite you to close them now.
I've shared a lot.
So let's take a moment just to take a breath and slow things down.
There's a good chance you are in your head space,
And I'd like to invite you into your heart space.
Slow everything down and give yourself a chance to arrive in this moment.
Soften your head,
Forehead,
Your jaw,
Your nose,
Your tongue.
Allow a gentle softness to work its way down your neck,
Your chest,
Your stomach,
Your pelvic region,
Down your thigh,
Your knees and your shins,
All the way down to your feet and your toes.
Taking a nice deep breath here,
Holding at the top of your inhale and then letting it all go.
With today's practice,
We will be shifting our perspective from a zoomed out perspective and a zoomed in perspective.
Let's begin by identifying where your thoughts are specifically on your body.
Locate where your consciousness seems like it's coming from.
Is it in between your eyebrows?
Is it at the center of your head?
Maybe in your chest?
Maybe somewhere else?
This will be our starting position.
For me,
It's often moves from my mind at the center of my brain to my heart space.
I'm going to share some words,
Some affirmations.
Some words,
Some affirmations.
And you are welcome to join me on this zooming out and in journey.
You are more than your thoughts.
You are more than your thoughts.
Zoom out.
You are more than your body.
Zoom out.
You are more than the room you are in.
You are more than your home.
Zoom out.
You are more than your job.
You are more than your job.
Zoom out.
You are more than your savings.
You are more than your debt.
Zoom out.
You are more than your current health.
You are more than your current health.
Zoom out.
You are more than your trauma.
You are more than your trauma.
Zoom out.
You are more than your highlight reel.
You are more than all of your accomplishments.
Zoom out.
Zoom out.
You are more than your lowest moment.
You are more than your worst day.
Zoom out.
You are more than enough.
Your enoughness could fill 10 lifetimes.
You get to choose if you want to zoom in to a situation.
But by doing so,
You will get smaller and smaller and smaller.
Almost microscopic.
And at that size,
Everything will look like a mountain.
Everything will look impossible.
But at any moment,
You get to choose if you want to zoom out.
Out.
You get to get bigger and bigger.
And you zoom out and out and get bigger and get bolder and get louder and take up more space in the world.
And you remember.
You remember who's holding your hand.
You remember who's got your back.
You remember that you,
Dear artist,
Are infinite.
You've always been infinite.
At any moment,
You can step into your bigness.
Step into your boldness.
Step into the truth inside your heart.
And if you choose to,
You get to fly.
To fly.
That your enoughness could fill several lifetimes.
What a radical thought.
You choose if you want to take this seed from my hand and place it into your garden.
If you're not ready for that,
If you're not interested in that,
That's okay.
To bring our practice to an end,
Let's take one conscious breath here together.
Breathing in and letting it all go.
In closing,
A reminder that you can zoom out at any time.
If you are feeling overwhelmed,
You are feeling like you have zoomed so far into a particular problem,
A particular identity,
A particular moment,
You can repeat the mantra to yourself.
I am more than whatever is happening for you.
I am more than my job.
Zoom out.
I am more than my relationship.
Zoom out.
I am more than my health.
Zoom out.
And literally feel yourself zooming out like Google Maps would.
Give yourself a chance to see things through a slightly different perspective.
And if you are open to it,
And if you are interested in deepening this practice,
Jump into the discussion forum and share one limiting belief that you are ready to let go of.
We all have them.
The more we share them openly as a community,
The easier it becomes to let go.
Thank you once again for joining me on this practice.
My name is Darius,
And I will see you next time.

I am more than my work. I will let go of the thought that I can’t function anymore 100%. I can function ‘anywhere anytime’ as long as I feel good about myself and the people around me. I am more than my thoughts. Thank you, Darius. As always, a smile on my face finishing your meditation. I think I need to repeat this one a few times to really let it sink in. I love the repetition and the seed-growth idea. Have a lovely day-evening !

Absolutely brilliant, creative meditation. The analogy to zooming out like in Google maps is an insightful analogy that is immediately employable.

I knew since a long time that zooming out helps alot with taking every challenge with a bit more ease and lightness, but this meditation brought it on a higher level for me and connected it with my believe of not beeing good enough. Thank you 🙏

Such a beautiful empowering practice, thank you for your heart. I release the limiting belief that I am small and not good enough - I release walking on egg shells for the most part and plant my feet firmly on the ground and root and tend to this inner garden ❤️

This helped me to zoom out from a relationship with a family member. I then took it a step further and zoomed in on my inner child and was able to get an answer I needed. Thank you for a much needed change of perspective and a tool I can take with me moving forward 🙏💖

Thank You 🙏 Darius this focused on letting go, and it was truly transformative. As I lay on the floor with my clear quartz and citrine crystals placed on my heart chakra and headspace—areas where I often carry the weight of life—I felt an overwhelming sense of connection and clarity. During the meditation, I visualized a beautiful garden, a metaphor for self-care and nurturing my inner world. This imagery deeply resonated with me, as I love plants and the act of tending to them mirrors how I care for myself. The scene expanded into a breathtaking landscape, reminiscent of The Sound of Music, where I felt both small in the vastness of the world and grand in my potential, supported by a beautiful community of people in my corner. The letting-go moment brought a vivid vision of the final scene in Wicked, I was falling, my body light, scared then. Calm, in the scene Elphaba is defying gravity—rising above her circumstances and fully embracing her worth, dreams, and aspirations. It was a powerful reminder that I am more than enough and capable of soaring beyond challenges. Having done this meditation after consistently committing to my workouts and walking meditations, I felt immense gratitude for the practice, the visualization, and the reminder of God’s presence in this journey of self-discovery. Thank you, Darius, for this incredible practice and the gift of this transformative experience.
