Lo que aprenderás
Living with a pet can be deeply rewarding, and also emotionally challenging. This course invites you to explore mindfulness for pet parents as a practical, compassionate way to navigate everyday life with your animal companion. This course is not about training techniques. Instead, it focuses on your inner experience: your body, thoughts, emotions, and nervous system, and how these directly shape your relationship with your pet. Over 10 guided sessions, you’ll learn simple, accessible mindfulness practices you can use in real life: • grounding and breathing to regulate stress • body awareness to restore balance in challenging moments • working skillfully with thoughts and “sticky” beliefs • meeting difficult emotions with compassion • cultivating openness, gratitude, and self‑compassion The practices are species‑neutral and suitable for anyone living with a dog, cat, horse, or any other animal. When you learn to respond with more presence and grounding, your pet can feel it, and the whole relationship begins to shift. Perfect for pet parents seeking calm, emotional resilience, deeper connection, and mindful living with animals.

Lección 1
Casting Your Mindful Net: Anchoring Presence In The Everyday
In this opening session, you’re invited to reflect on your relationship with your pet and explore how mindfulness can support greater calm, clarity, and connection. Through mindful self-inquiry and guided reflection, you’ll begin to notice how your inner state shapes everyday moments, and how small shifts in awareness can begin to change the whole relationship.
Lección 2
Your Body As Anchor: Breathing, Grounding, And Presence
In this session, you’ll explore how simple body‑based mindfulness practices can help you return to balance in everyday life with your pet. Through calm grounding and breathing awareness, you’ll learn how to notice early signs of stress in your body and support your nervous system before emotions escalate. This episode introduces mindfulness as an embodied practice; one that helps you respond more calmly and intentionally, even in moments of frustration, uncertainty, or emotional activation. By learning to anchor attention in the body, you begin to create space between what happens and how you respond.
Lección 3
Deep Presence: Exploring The Body Scan
In this session, you’ll be guided through shorter versions of the body scan suitable for everyday use. The body scan is a powerful practice for settling the nervous system and returning to balance. By slowly moving attention through the body, you learn to notice sensations without judgment and allow your nervous system to calm down. This episode shows how body awareness can support you not only in quiet moments, but also in daily life with your pet - during walks, pauses, or situations that might otherwise feel stressful. As the body settles, responding thoughtfully becomes easier than reacting automatically.
Lección 4
Thoughts In Motion: Watching The Stream
In this session, you’ll explore a mindful way of relating to your thoughts, especially the ones that tend to show up in challenging moments with your pet. Rather than trying to stop or change your thinking, you’ll practice observing thoughts as passing mental events without significance. Through a simple guided meditation, you’ll learn how to notice thoughts without getting caught up in them, creating a little more space around them. This shift can help reduce stress, soften emotional reactions, and support more thoughtful responses in everyday interactions with your animal companion.
Lección 5
Sticky Thoughts: Unravelling The Stories We Tell Ourselves
In this session, you’ll explore thoughts that tend to repeat and linger, such as beliefs about yourself or your animal that can quietly shape how you feel and respond. Rather than trying to push these thoughts away, this episode invites you to meet them with curiosity and mindful attention. Through guided reflection, you’ll begin to distinguish between what is actually happening and the stories your mind adds on top. This small shift can soften self‑judgment, open up new perspectives, and create more space for understanding, both for yourself and for your pet.
Lección 6
Navigating Emotions. Can I Be With This?
In this session, you’ll turn toward emotions as an essential part of mindful living with your pet. Rather than judging or pushing feelings away, you’re invited to explore how emotions show up in the body and how meeting them with awareness can create space and a sense of stability. Through calm guidance, you’ll practice staying present with difficult emotions, such as fear, frustration, or overwhelm, without becoming consumed by them. This approach supports emotional regulation and helps you respond more compassionately, even in moments that feel challenging for you or your animal.
Lección 7
Letting Go And Letting Be: Opening Up To Change
In this session, you’ll explore openness as a fundamental quality of mindfulness. Rather than something to achieve or fix, openness is more a way of meeting life, and your relationship with your pet, with curiosity rather than with resistance. Through a guided visualization, you’ll notice how “closing down” shows up in your body during everyday triggers and experiment with inviting a sense of openness instead. Even small shifts in this direction can create more inner space and support calmer, more spacious responses in daily life with your animal.
Lección 8
Appreciating Your Pet: A Practice In Everyday Gratitude
In this session, you’ll explore gratitude as an embodied quality that naturally supports mindfulness. Rather than focusing on what’s missing or difficult, this practice turns your attention toward the small, often overlooked gifts that shape daily life with your pet. Through a guided reflection, you’ll be invited to notice how your animal’s presence influences your mood, your body, and your sense of connection. Cultivating gratitude in this way can soften the heart, support emotional regulation, and bring more warmth and ease into your relationship, both with your pet and with yourself.
Lección 9
Opening Your Heart: Cultivating Compassion For Yourself And Your Pet
In this session, you’ll explore compassion as a central quality of mindfulness and relationships. Compassion is approached not as pity or emotional overwhelm, but as a steady, caring presence that allows suffering to be acknowledged without being taken on. Through a guided visualization, you’ll be invited to cultivate compassion first for your pet and then for yourself, recognizing the shared vulnerability that exists in all relationships. This calm practice can soften self‑judgment, deepen emotional connection, and support a kinder, more spacious way of responding, especially in moments that feel difficult.
Lección 10
Mindfulness In Perspective: Reflection & Next Steps
In this final session, you’re invited to step back and reflect on your journey through the course. Together, we revisit the key themes you’ve explored - body awareness, thoughts, emotions, openness, gratitude, and compassion- and how these practices weave into everyday life with your pet. Rather than striving for perfection, this episode offers space to notice what has shifted, what felt supportive, and what may still feel challenging. You’ll also be encouraged to consider how mindfulness can continue to be part of your life and relationship with your animal in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.
