Lección 1
The Unthinkable Has Happened
In this first episode of Pet Loss Grief Support – Part 1, you are carefully guided through the reality of loss and the shock that often follows. Through personal sharing and grounding awareness, you begin to understand that whatever you are feeling right now is a natural response to the loss of a profound bond. This session offers a first step toward staying present with your experience, just as it is.
Lección 2
And Suddenly, Everything Is Different
In this second episode of the course, we'll explore the immediate aftermath of loss, where shock reshapes your perception of reality. The sudden absence of your animal companion can create feelings of numbness, disconnection, exhaustion, or unreality. This response is a natural protective mechanism of the nervous system, helping you metabolize something that may feel overwhelming.
The episode offers ways to stay connected to your animal while honoring your own pace, including creating small rituals of remembrance and allowing space for whatever emotions or sensations arise.
Lección 3
And Then, There Is Only The Pain
With the third episode, we move from the initial shock of loss into the emergence of emotional pain. As numbness begins to soften, grief may become more tangible in the body and the mind. You may experience waves of sadness, physical heaviness, or a deep sense of emptiness.
The episode explores how emotional pain is not only psychological but also physiological, and how allowing space for it can support the natural process of grieving. It also introduces an exercise to help you stay present with your pain without becoming overwhelmed, including grounding through breath, gentle awareness, and safe internal imagery.
Lección 4
The Unbearable Weight Of Guilt
The fourth episode helps you explore the experience of guilt that often arises after the loss of a beloved animal. Thoughts may circle decisions you made, things you wish you had done differently, or questions about whether you did enough. This guilt can feel heavy and persistent, especially when there is no longer the possibility of forgiveness.
The episode invites a compassionate shift in perspective by exploring your shared life from your animal’s point of view, helping you reconnect with the bond you had while softening self-blame. Through reflection and expressive writing, you are supported in relating to your guilt with more understanding and context.
Lección 5
Anger - Pent-Up Grief
In this penultimate episode, we'll explore anger as a natural and often misunderstood part of grief. Anger can appear in many forms, sometimes visible and direct, sometimes hidden beneath other emotions like fear, overwhelm or helplessness. It carries energy and movement, and it often points to deeper layers of vulnerability that may feel harder to access.
The episode helps you recognize what your anger might be protecting, and offers supportive ways to express and release it through physical movement, creative outlets, or voice. You are also invited to explore where your anger is directed and what might be beneath it, allowing for greater clarity and emotional integration.
Lección 6
Depression - When Reality Sets In
The final episode addresses the quieter layers of grief, where the initial intensity of shock, pain, guilt, and anger may give way to a deeper sense of sadness, emptiness, or low energy. This phase can feel like a return to everyday life, yet with an awareness that something essential has gone from it. You may also become more aware of existential themes, such as the fragility of life and your own sense of mortality.
The episode introduces the practice of “taking opposite action” as a simple way to support yourself through small, intentional steps, even when motivation is low. It emphasizes the importance of support, self-care, and taking life one small moment at a time.
