Your New Year's Resolutions (Meditation) - (Live Recording)
Let's find some quiet time together to ground and connect with ourselves. In this live meditation, I will guide you through the different areas of life to help you discover what you would like to see in your life in 2022. I invite you to have pen and paper handy to write down what comes up for you. You can do this exercise anytime during the year, too.
Transcript
Happy Tuesday everybody.
It's nice to see you here at the end of the year.
My name is Emilio and today I am looking forward to guiding you through a little meditation to really connect with ourselves at the end of this year,
2021,
And really set the intentions that we want to see in 2022.
Good morning CJ.
Hi Maria.
Hi Jessica from Arizona.
Hi Naomi from Southern California.
You are taking my course and it is really helping you.
Which one?
Are you taking the self-care,
The minimalism,
Or the clutter-free home?
Just curious to know which one you are taking.
Christine says good morning from snowy Washington.
Now the clutter-free,
Naomi.
Thank you so much for taking it.
Please share in the course classroom what's coming up with you,
Okay?
Anything that's coming up for you,
Any questions you may be facing,
Any celebrations so that I can celebrate with you,
Please take the time at the end of every lesson to share what's coming up for you.
Hi Beth from Virginia.
Hi Candice.
Yeah guys,
Thank you so much for being here.
I really like at the end of every year to take some time for reflection.
Hi Kathy from Northern California.
Hi Sara from London.
Thank you so much for being here everybody,
For being a part of this container,
Of this group of people.
So how many of you have taken a little bit of time to really think about how 2021 was and what you would like to see in 2022?
How many of you have taken a little bit of thought and a little bit of time to think about these things?
Just curious to know.
And it's okay if you haven't,
It's okay if you didn't find the time,
It's a very busy time for everybody,
But is it in your radar to do it?
Is it something that you feel inspired to do?
And one of the activities that my wife and I do that I'm happy to share is at the end of every year we write a letter to our future self.
So basically we write a letter every December and we will open it the next December.
And in that letter we are kind of talking to our future self one year ahead,
Right?
And just telling that person how we feel,
How is our life,
The things that we would like to see change hopefully by that time,
The things that we would like to nurture more,
And just an inventory of how we feel in every area of our lives and what's going on.
And let me tell you that we opened it yesterday,
Together.
My wife and I,
We did a little ceremony and we opened it and then we read it together.
And it was so interesting to read what you brought a year ago.
And the progress that you made or maybe the challenges that you are still facing,
It's just so interesting and it's such a great way to be grounded with yourself.
So CJ says,
Have spent a lot of time on this.
Christine says,
Yes,
Need to,
But not yet.
Okay.
Is the music okay?
The volume of the music is okay for you guys?
Is it too quiet,
Too loud?
Let me know before we get started just to make sure that you guys are not annoyed by it.
Music is perfect.
Okay.
Awesome.
Thank you.
I personally enjoy a little bit of music.
It really helps us.
It really helps our brains to kind of like get in the mood of meditating or going inward.
Right.
Hi Deborah.
I find it very,
Very soothing.
So let's get started.
And I invite you guys to have pen and paper ready.
Please have something,
A journal,
A piece of paper,
A notebook,
Whatever you want,
Whatever you use.
And I will let you to have it handy because during this exercise,
Stuff is going to come up for you.
Okay.
Things you want to change,
Things you want to think about,
Realizations that you maybe didn't know,
Anything that is really important,
Anything that really comes up in these kind of practices,
It's important to write them down.
Because if you don't write them down,
The busy-ness of life is going to make you forget.
And you will not have a way to remind yourself of what's important and to remind yourself of the habits that you want to create.
And you just know,
If you have come to my sessions,
You know that creating new habits,
It's a matter of repetition.
It's a matter of reminding yourself what you really want to do and why.
Okay.
So that's why I invite you to have pen and paper close by.
I can share that for me,
The best ideas that I ever have,
The best realizations that I ever had,
The course ideas that I share with you,
Topics for my life's sessions here on Inside Timer,
They come when I'm doing something that I enjoy.
They come when I'm doing hot yoga.
They come when I am hiking in nature.
They come when I am doing a project,
Building a composting toilet that I just built,
Going to the playground with my daughter and maybe juggling my balls.
When I'm doing something that I enjoy and I get in the flow,
Really great ideas come to mind and I need to write them down.
Okay.
Because if not,
I will forget.
So I invite you to start doing the same.
Every day we need to work on a little bit each day.
Amazing Naomi.
Totally agree.
When I am doing something I enjoy and usually physical.
Yeah.
And why physical guys?
Think about it.
One of the best ways to change your energy,
One of the best ways to connect with yourself is to change your physiology,
To change how you move your body.
That's why for so many people exercising,
Walking,
Dancing,
Doing yoga,
Building something with your hands,
Doing something that involves movement,
Juggling,
The slack line,
Just challenging yourself in a physical way gets you in a different state.
And guys,
If you don't believe me,
I invite you to just do this with me right now.
So just stand up if you can and then just jump.
Just jump.
Okay.
Jump a little bit.
Just jump with me.
Honestly,
Do it.
Don't be shy.
Do it with me.
Jump.
Okay.
See my face.
It's just so much fun.
I instantly change how I feel.
And this is something that my wife and I,
We do it all the time.
Anytime we are having an argument,
Every time we feel that we are kind of stagnant,
That we hold hands and we just jump together.
And I can tell you that it takes like 10 seconds,
15 seconds the most for both of us to be laughing.
And then we sit down after and what could be a big argument or a big whatever,
It becomes something that is more,
It flows and it's kind of like the energy just flows better.
Okay.
So that's why physiology is so important.
Okay.
So please get in a comfortable position now.
Have pen and paper ready.
You can close your eyes if you feel comfortable and you can open them anytime you want to write something or anytime you feel like it.
You don't have to do anything a specific way.
Just flow through this practice with me.
I don't have any notes.
I'm not following anything.
Okay.
So I'm just going to flow through it with you.
I'm just going to guide you and see whatever this journey takes us today.
Hopefully it's going to be maybe 15 minutes,
10 minutes,
Something like that.
And then we can have a little bit of discussion after.
Okay.
Hi Polly.
Thank you for being here.
Okay.
So just close your eyes.
For those of you who have joined,
I invite you to have pen and paper ready.
Close your eyes and then take a few deep breaths.
Okay.
Just relax.
And just remind yourself why you came to this session today.
We are here together today.
Yes,
I am recording this Polly.
We are here together because majority of the times we don't allow ourselves the time to connect with ourselves,
The time to think,
The time to reflect,
The time to dream,
The time to just notice how we feel,
What's going on in our body.
How is the energy flowing through us?
Are we feeling sad?
Are we feeling happy?
Are we feeling excited,
Stuck,
Overwhelmed?
Anything is just a feeling.
And sometimes we need to allow that feeling to be there because there is something that we need to learn from that feeling.
So today we are allowing ourselves time to just be with ourselves,
To really reflect about how was 2021 for us.
And I know a year is a really long time to think about it,
But there is something that starts,
Something that comes out,
Something that it's like the highlights of the year.
Maybe they are good emotions.
Maybe they are,
Maybe they are sad emotions.
Maybe they are intense emotions of some sort.
And also things that you would like to change,
Things that maybe you are frustrated about,
Things that deep inside,
You know,
That you have to do,
You want to do something about.
Okay.
Lenore,
We are just doing a little practice to set the intentions for 2022.
So feel free to have pen and paper ready,
Get comfortable,
Close your eyes and just keep breathing.
Okay.
So let's get started with your body.
Okay.
Just reflect about how do you feel with your physical body right now?
And feel free to put a number on it on a scale zero to 10.
How do you feel with your physical body right now?
What would you like to see in 2022 around your body,
Around your physical health?
Would you like to maybe improve your sleeping?
Would you like to start drinking more water?
Would you like to exercise more?
Maybe you need to find an exercising routine that inspires you.
You want to change your diet,
Eat something different,
Maybe try keto,
Try fasting,
Try to become a vegetarian or just be curious about it.
Maybe you want to be more social with people in a physical way.
Maybe you want to join a volleyball league or you want to join a walking club or you want to do something volunteering wise that involves movement and involves using your physical body.
Just think about it.
Just look inside and see what is your body telling you right now?
How are you feeling right now?
And I invite you to write anything that comes up for you,
Just write it down.
Maybe something that you want to explore.
Maybe it's an emotion that you are feeling that you were not aware of.
Maybe it's an idea that you feel excited about.
Just write it down.
Maybe you have a thousand things that need to be written down in a piece of paper.
If you are feeling overwhelmed and you have a thousand things in your mind about your body and physical health,
I invite you to write them down.
Don't stop writing until everything is in that piece of paper.
It's very,
Very liberating to do that.
To declutter your mind and do what's called a brain dump in a piece of paper.
And everything that is circling around in your head,
Now it's in paper.
Now you can see it,
You can decide what to do with it,
You can prioritize.
Nothing is going to be missed,
Nothing is going to be forgotten.
You can relax now and you can just let it go because everything is in that piece of paper,
In your journal,
In your notebook.
And then now it's time to think about what do you want to see different in 2022.
Just allow a little bit of silence.
Just connect with whatever you are experiencing and feeling.
When you feel complete we can move to the next category.
For some of you this is plenty of time,
For some others maybe this is just,
You just need way more time to do this.
And I invite you to then write that down.
I need to spend more time with myself reflecting about my physical body,
My physical health.
Because there is a lot of stuff that I need to become aware of,
Stuff I want to explore.
So allow yourself to put in the calendar maybe extra time if you need to.
Okay?
Just put a note for yourself so that you don't forget.
The next area that I would like you to explore is your mind.
Mind can be spirituality,
Can be self-care,
Can be anything that takes care of your mental and emotional health.
Because if we are not emotionally fit,
If we are not psychologically healthy,
Motivated,
If we are feeling overwhelmed,
Depressed,
Depressed and we cannot cope with those strong emotions,
Nothing else in life is going to be easy for us.
That's why self-care is so,
So important.
And you guys are an inside timer,
You are very aware of that and I'm sure you have tools and if you don't I invite you to take my course about self-care and just practice things and see how you feel when you practice them.
But self-care is taking care of yourself.
And this doesn't have to be selfish.
Self-care doesn't have to be a selfish request.
Can you back up the camera?
I can only see your mouth and nose on my iPad.
Okay.
I can totally do that.
Amy.
Is that better?
I don't know why you can see that but.
.
.
Okay.
So when it comes to self-care,
Think about 2021.
It's been a really,
Really tough time for all of us because of COVID.
It has put a lot of pressure on our mental health.
It has produced a lot of isolation,
Lots of anxiety.
So the circumstances are what they are.
What we do with them,
It's all on us.
So I invite you to start taking responsibility about your mental and emotional health.
Okay?
Start looking at the right side of things.
And I'm not saying ignore what's happening.
I'm not saying don't follow the rules,
Any of that.
I'm just saying that,
Yes,
There is stuff that is happening in the world,
But there is also a lot of beautiful things happening every single day around you.
And I'm inviting you to maybe focus more on those things.
Don't neglect them.
Start seeing everything that's happening,
Not only what the media is telling you to look at because there is so much beauty around us.
So self-care is all about finding the activities that make you feel well.
Creating a self-care list is something that I will invite you to do.
And if you don't have one,
I will invite you to write on your piece of paper under the self-care.
Explore the idea.
Okay?
Don't create it yet.
Explore the idea of creating my own self-care list.
And if this concept is new for you,
I truly invite you to research it.
I have a course on self-care that you can take and learn or just type on Google self-care list and then find information,
But you need to create your own self-care list with activities that are very simple,
Very easy.
They don't need to require money.
You can create your self-care list by location so that you can be actively doing it.
And it has to be something very simple,
Like deep breathing a few times,
Petting my pet,
My dog,
My cat,
Giving my partner a kiss,
Going on a date with myself and treating myself to do something that I enjoy just because of.
So,
Ray,
How do you feel right now when it comes to self-care,
Mental health,
Emotional health?
Are you feeling strong?
Are you feeling motivated?
Are you feeling stressed?
Are you feeling anxiety,
Depression,
Fear?
Just own whatever you are feeling because it is true for you right now.
And just move through those emotions.
Let them flow through you.
Explore them.
Be curious.
And then what is your intention when it comes to self-care for 2022?
What would you like to see?
What would you like to change?
Because you have the power to create whatever you want.
Yes,
You guys do have the power to create whatever you want.
And you have the power to react in a way that feels good to you.
Okay?
So feel free to write down anything that's coming up for you.
If you are being triggered by anything that I'm saying,
Just write it down and explore that more.
Maybe take more time.
Why am I feeling this way?
Why am I being triggered right now by this thing?
Why don't I allow myself time to practice self-care?
Why do I believe that it's selfish?
Why do I believe that I don't deserve it?
Why do I believe that it has to be complicated?
Why do I believe that self-care is not for me because it's something that I don't know how to do?
Okay?
So just take the time to explore those ideas.
Okay?
And then when you feel complete,
I would like to move to the next category,
The next area of your life that you can explore.
And that area is family and social relationships.
Okay?
It's another area that has been heavily affected this year because of COVID and isolation and quarantines.
And it's been very difficult to see people to enjoy time together without fear,
Without complications,
Without distance.
So what would you like to see in 2022 when it comes to family and social relationships?
What can you change to make that area of your life more enlightened to you,
More exciting,
More fulfilling?
Just think about it.
How do you feel right now when it comes to family and relationships?
And again,
Own whatever is coming up because whatever is coming up is true to you right now.
If you are feeling anger,
If you are feeling stress,
If you're feeling this is not fair,
I want to see my family and I can't,
Or I don't understand why my sister doesn't want to see me and she opens the door with a mask three meters away and I just can't even hug her or even enter the house because she's paranoid about COVID or getting sick.
And it has their own reasons to do what they decide to do.
So what can we do still to make the best of the situation?
Just think about ideas.
What come up for you?
What can you do differently in 2022?
What would you like to change?
What would you like to integrate in your life?
What would you like to do differently?
What kind of boundaries would you like to set if something is bothering you,
Maybe with people that you love and you feel that you need to set a boundary of some sort?
What is that boundary about?
What is that clear communication that you have to engage in that maybe is difficult,
Maybe is uncomfortable,
But it is necessary?
If you guys don't know about the concept of intentional dialogue,
I will invite you to write it on your piece of paper,
Something to explore.
Intentional dialogue,
You can find it as Imago dialogue.
It's I-M-A-G-O.
And that was created by Hendrix,
I think is the name of the author.
But if you type Imago dialogue on Google,
You will find very lots of examples.
It's a technique that will allow you to intentionally communicate with your loved ones,
Especially with your partner,
If you have one.
Yeah.
Thank you,
Becca.
Harvey Hendrix,
He has a book that he's the creator of that methodology,
That structure.
And then a lot of different authors have taken that and then expand into different ways of using it.
In my own case with my wife,
We are taking a course with John Wineland and then he uses that structure and then he added a few things to it.
But the end result is not don't get hung up in how to do it,
Just write down,
Explore the idea of doing an Imago dialogue with my loved one.
Both people need to be open-minded to that.
So be aware of that.
But if they are,
It's beautiful.
It's a great way to make your 2022 way better when it comes to communication with intention.
And it's a structure that is beautiful.
You can watch videos on YouTube.
If you go to YouTube and you type Imago dialogue example,
You will see couples doing it.
So you can see the structure,
You can see how they do it and you can see why they do it the way they do it.
So again,
Think about your family and relationships.
Connect with whatever you are feeling right now.
Connect with whatever ideas,
Whatever inspiration or motivation you feel inside of you of something that you want to explore.
Okay.
And then majority of the times when it comes to family members and social relationships,
Clear communication is key.
Creating healthy boundaries is key.
Protecting yourself and practicing self-care is key.
Okay.
If we don't do those things,
Sometimes we get involved in dynamics that are not aligned.
I wouldn't say they are good or bad.
They are just not aligned with who you are and it doesn't feel good.
Anytime you feel that it doesn't feel good,
That is an opportunity for you to explore why does this situation doesn't feel good to me?
Why every time I meet with this person,
I feel this way.
Why every time I see this person,
He or she triggers me.
And then you start deepening your practice.
You start deepening your understanding of yourself,
The understanding of the other person,
The reasons why they do what they do,
The reasons why you react the way you react,
The beliefs that are behind that and why you feel uncomfortable.
It's a beautiful opportunity for you to go deeper.
So if this resonates with you,
If this sounds something like you can benefit from it,
Just write it down.
Again,
You don't have to do anything today.
Just write it down.
Plant the seed in your head.
What is an intentional dialogue?
How can I create healthy boundaries?
How can I find ways to communicate with my loved ones more clearly?
How can I look inside and understand my beliefs and my triggers in a deeper way?
And how can I own everything that I feel in a nice and healthy way?
Just write those things down and then see what inspires you.
And then write down what would you like to do in 2022,
Practically speaking?
What is something that you feel inspired to try?
So when you guys feel complete about this,
Family and relationships,
I would like to move into the next category.
And let's do staff.
Staff could be physical belongings,
Could be your home,
Could be money.
In staff,
I include all those things.
Basically,
Staff for me,
It's everything that is physical,
Material belongings that I have around me that help me facilitate the lifestyle that I want to have.
Belongings that help me support the identity that I want to embrace,
The person I want to be.
Okay?
So I do need a home.
I do need a laptop.
I do need a microphone.
I do need a bicycle.
I do need things.
I need money.
So think about how do you feel about the staff in your life,
Your physical belongings,
Your home,
Your car,
Your computer,
All the things that are around you.
How do you feel about that?
And many people feel overwhelmed.
Many people feel cluttered.
Many people feel out of alignment.
They feel like they need to change something physically to be able to keep going with their inner journey.
If that's your case,
I will invite you to check my course,
How to Create Your Clutter-Free Home.
In that course,
It's a 30-day course.
Again,
An idea.
Write it down.
Explore Emilio's course.
Or maybe you want to read a nice book from Marie Kondo.
Or maybe you want to go to the library and just put decluttering and then see what books come up and then read some of them and then see which one you feel inspired by.
At the end of the day,
It doesn't matter how you do it.
It doesn't matter the journey that you take.
What matters is the destination.
The destination.
What you really and truly want.
What was after family?
Tia,
No problem.
After family,
We are doing staff.
Staff,
Physical belongings,
Your home,
Your finances.
For me,
Staff includes everything that is supporting the lifestyle that I want to have.
Everything that supports the person I want to be.
The person that I am.
So I am a teacher on Inside Timer.
That requires me to have this space that is quiet.
This phone that I use.
This microphone to record.
The computer to do all the work.
You see,
I have a home.
I have finances.
We have to pay rent.
We have to pay for groceries.
So all the physical belongings that are around you to support who you are,
To support your family,
Support your lifestyle.
And everything,
Ideally everything will feel aligned with you.
Everything will feel good to you.
Okay?
So just think about how do you feel right now when it comes to your physical belongings,
Your staff,
Your home,
Your car,
Your finances.
Just write down the emotions that you are experiencing.
Write down things that you feel inspired to maybe explore or change.
For some that maybe I really want to get ahead financially speaking.
I really want to understand my numbers.
I really want to know where my money is going.
Be more intentional with how I spend it.
For some other people maybe like I really want to declare and organize my living room and my kitchen so that I can eat better,
So that I can entertain family and friends.
And I am not stressed every day cleaning up and looking for things.
For some other people it's maybe like I really want to declare my garage and create that workshop that I always wanted to have.
Because by having that I'm going to be allowed and inspired to do work with my hands.
Maybe you do woodworking.
Maybe you fix stuff.
Maybe you create art.
Maybe you want to paint.
Maybe you want to,
I don't know,
Do create something with technology or you want to become a gardener or whatever that is.
Maybe you want to create videos and you want to have a cool background and a studio with lighting and whatever that is for you.
Think about how you feel and think,
Just look inside and ask yourself,
What do I need in 2022 when it comes to my home,
When it comes to my physical belongings?
And just write down anything that is coming up for you.
And this could be a whole year journey.
Again,
These are not like I put the name of New Year's resolutions,
But I don't want them to be New Year's resolutions because a resolution is something that is completed and sometimes we don't have enough time to complete what we want.
And that puts a lot of pressure on us.
Let's just call them New Year's intentions instead.
New Year's ideas.
Just find a word that inspires you,
A word that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable.
Because this is what we are doing here.
There are no rules.
You don't have to do anything.
You just want to do something.
Okay.
So let's move to the next area.
Yeah.
Create,
Creates permission to evolve an idea.
Let's just do the last,
A last area.
And then we can have a little bit of debate before we finish.
So the next area I want it to be work.
It feels good.
Yeah.
Because work is an area where we all spend a lot of time,
Normally one third of our day or more it's spent working for majority of people.
Some people maybe are retired.
Some people maybe have the luxury of not needing to work.
Some people maybe work less because they find a way to make more money in less time.
But for majority of the people work is a part of their lives.
And COVID again,
COVID has had a huge hit on how we work.
Has put a lot of pressure on a lot of people to work from home.
And people who maybe were not feeling the greatest at home.
And they had that escape of going to work and living their home.
And now they are trapped in their homes.
They have to work from there.
They need to create a home office.
And if you have kids and they cannot go to school,
Just imagine the mix.
Imagine how difficult this situation has been for so many people.
If you don't have kids or you haven't been in this dynamic,
Just be grateful because you didn't have to do that.
Cause let me tell you,
Like it's so difficult.
I only have one daughter and she's been going to daycare majority of the times,
But a few times she couldn't go.
And it disrupted our life in many,
Many ways.
And we love her,
But we still have to work.
We still have to show up to do things.
And when that doesn't happen and you are required to be different things at the same time,
It's very difficult.
And kids don't understand why you are on the computer.
They want you to play with them.
They want you to be present.
So they don't understand that they won't accept it.
So think about work and how you feel about your work.
Do you feel inspired?
Are you doing something that you love that you are feeling fulfilled about?
Is there something that you can do to change your situation?
Maybe you can improve your current position.
Maybe it's time to look for a new one.
Maybe you want to nurture a hobby that you have on the side because you just love doing it.
And maybe in the future,
It will grow into being something that can support you.
Just look inside and think,
How do you feel about work?
How do you feel about your work?
What would you like to see different in 2022?
And again,
Another idea for you guys to explore and I did do a live session on this concept.
It's called Ikigai.
I-K-I-G-A-I.
This is a Japanese concept that has different circles that basically it includes what you love doing,
What you are really good at,
What the world needs.
And then it combines everything.
And when you can find where all those circles touch,
That's your Ikigai.
That's your intentional work.
That's you doing something that the world needs,
Something that you are really good at,
Something that you're really passionate about,
And something that you just will do even if you wouldn't get paid for.
So this is a really cool concept that can open up fresh energy into your life to start doing something different.
And this is something that you need to change.
Maybe you just add a hobby that you're really good at,
And then you start doing it on the side.
One hour here,
One hour there,
And then you start producing more and more,
Becoming better,
Mastering your skills.
And then down the road,
Maybe one or two years later,
All of a sudden you see yourself being self-employed,
Just doing what you love.
And people are willing and happy to pay you money for that.
Yeah,
Lainor got it right,
Ikigai.
That's the concept.
Again,
Another idea for you to explore,
To get inspired,
To get out of that stagnant that we sometimes get into when it comes to just doing the same thing over and over.
Sometimes we just need a fresh idea to get us going,
To get us excited,
To get us doing something different.
And maybe that idea for you is Ikigai.
Just give it a try.
Okay.
There is a live session on Ikigai,
And you can find it if you go to my profile link on Inside Timer.
On the About tab,
You can go in there and then scroll down on that page and you will see a recording.
And the title says Ikigai,
Creating Your Passion Work.
I think it was the name.
And it says Ikigai.
Okay.
So guys,
I invite you to come back.
You can open your eyes if you have them closed.
And then we just have a few minutes to just share some of the things that maybe we brought down,
Some of the things that maybe you feel inspired to share.
I will check that out,
Ikigai.
Yeah,
Deborah,
Give it a search and then read a little bit about it.
And there is a cool graph that you can see.
And then the concept is really cool.
And Ikigai doesn't have to only apply to work.
Ikigai can apply to something else too,
Can apply to a hobby.
But it's interesting to apply to work because you add what you are good at,
What you really love doing,
What the world needs and what the world is willing to pay for.
Okay.
So those four concepts is what you require to have your own passion business.
Because at the end of the day,
Someone has to pay you to do what you love.
And if people are not willing to pay you,
If what you do is not worth money to people,
Then you have a hobby.
You don't have a job.
And that's okay too.
But if your expectation is to make money out of that idea,
Then that needs to be a condition,
Right?
Yeah.
So that just gave me cheers what the world needs and will pay you for.
Yeah,
Deborah,
That's at the end of the day,
You don't know until you also put it out there.
And these days with the internet,
Sometimes people laugh at someone's idea,
But then they put it on the internet and they find their tribe,
They find their group of people that they are that fund and they're willing to pay for what that person does.
And some people are blow minded.
Like there are jobs out there now,
People doing stuff that you will laugh at them.
And then they are making a good amount of money while they are having fun and they are really good at.
So don't let anyone else tell you what you can or cannot do because sometimes you will be surprised by the results of what you can do.
And you will never know until you put it out there and you let people decide.
You don't have to decide.
They will decide if it's worth paying money or not.
Okay.
Amy sharing a nice book here that I'm not familiar with.
Where does my deepest gladness meet the world's most pressing needs?
Yeah.
All these books sound really,
Really good.
Chills again.
Find your tribe.
There is a tribe for everyone that that needs each other.
Yeah,
Deborah,
There is a tribe for everyone.
And I don't know what you are,
Why you're feeling those chills,
But that's a sign.
And this is for all of you guys.
When you do this practice and you are exposing yourself to new concepts,
New books,
A live chat like this where people are sharing things,
When you notice something like creating chills in you,
Something that you feel that energy kind of going up and you feel like,
Wow,
That sounds so interesting.
That's a sign from the inside that you need to do something about.
So write it down.
Okay.
So Deborah,
In your case,
I will invite you to write down,
Finding your tribe,
Write down icky guy,
Write down whatever people are willing to pay for because you resonated with those things.
Clearly you did.
Okay.
So you are definitely part of my tribe.
Hello from Arizona.
Thumbs up from the universe.
Absolutely.
Hi Emilio.
Been here the whole time.
The sun is shining through on cold snowy day.
This exercise combined with the warm sun had been positive,
Amazing and uninspired.
Thank you.
I have a lot to be grateful for,
But haven't covered some insights to evolve myself.
That's amazing.
Star seeker.
I love your name.
That's amazing.
Thank you for sharing.
Next Thursday.
So in two days from now,
I will do another practice similar to this.
And I want to be that practice all about gratefulness,
All about reflecting about 2021 and really shining the light on the good stuff that happened because I am surrounded by people who are only noticing all the bad stuff that happened,
Especially COVID all the negatives about COVID stuff.
But still I am sure that you all have positive things that happen in 2021.
And I would like to allow a little bit of time for you to shine the light on those.
Okay.
That's going to happen on Thursday.
And also I will share ways on how you can track things.
Okay.
Because how many people remember what they did yesterday,
Last week,
Last month,
It's just so impossible to remember,
Especially when it comes to emotions,
You just forget,
You forget how you were feeling six months from now.
Yes or no,
At least I do forget.
So that's why when you can have a system,
A process to track things,
Not everything,
But just track the main things that happen in your life,
How you feel stuff like that.
That's when you can get started really reflecting and really seeing,
Wow,
Six months from now,
I was feeling this way and now I am way over that.
I really made a lot of progress in that specific area.
And you can apply this to every area of your life.
Okay.
So guys,
What else have you written down?
What else do you want to share before we leave?
I would love it if you could help me with the word gratitude.
This word triggers a lot for me as a morally perfectionist,
Good girl expectation in my home,
The word gratitude triggers guilt.
I was called selfish a lot as a child.
Okay.
So let's everybody help Amy here.
How can we help her find a different description for gratitude?
Something that maybe doesn't trigger her as much.
For me,
Amy gratitude is something that can be unique for every person,
Because someone can be grateful for the rain.
Some other people can be complaining about the rain.
Someone can be grateful for the sunshine and someone can be complaining because it's too sunny and it's too hot.
So gratitude is something very personal.
It's something that you experienced yourself and it's something that you are allowed to experience.
Being grateful about something is something that should be natural,
Should be something that feels good.
And you know what feels good.
I know that you have beliefs that have been created by someone else conditioning you to believe a specific thing.
And that belief causes you to feel triggered.
So your work here is to really understand when am I feeling triggered and then identify the beliefs that are making you feel guilty.
For example,
You mentioned guilt.
So start dissecting all the emotions that you feel and start becoming aware when they are coming up.
So when you notice that start questioning everything.
Okay.
I'm feeling guilty right now.
Why am I feeling guilty right now?
Because I was supposed to be a good girl.
Why I was supposed to be a good girl.
According to who,
Who told me that?
And then you start dissecting,
Dissecting,
Until you get to the root.
And then once you put a face on that belief that that person maybe created that belief to you,
Then you use forgiveness.
You use empathy.
You use all those tools to put that person in front of you and really understand why did they do that to you?
And then really understand,
Did they intentionally did this to you to make you feel this way?
Or was that what they knew how to do at that time?
I did that with my father because he inflicted a lot of conditioning on me,
Of course,
Like everybody else,
Right?
We all have fathers and mothers or role models that will shape who you are.
So when that happens,
I took a photo of him as a little boy,
Two,
Three years old,
And I put it in front of me.
And then I understood like,
Did he,
Was he actually trying to hurt me?
Was he actually doing what he did intentionally to,
To make me feel like this?
Absolutely no.
He did what he could.
So I had to use empathy.
I had to visualize him as a little kid.
I had to understand why he was doing what he was doing.
I had to forgive him.
And then once I was able to do all that,
Then that belief dissolved and I created a new person.
Okay.
So that's just my take.
Totally makes sense.
Emilio that helps explain gratitude in that way.
Thank you.
Yes.
Emilio hurt people hurt people even unintentionally.
Yeah.
So yes,
You do treasure search of gratitude.
It works to compare words next to one another.
Yeah.
That's a great idea.
Rosemary suggests that maybe you find a different word to,
To express what gratitude is to you.
Something that feels good to you.
Something that feels more aligned to you.
So I already feel lighter knowing it is personal to me.
I feel grateful for the trauma addition and even chronic illness because God,
The universe gave me a creative gift.
Yeah.
And always think that this is for everybody.
Okay.
Anytime we feel conditioned,
Anytime we feel an emotion that doesn't belong to us,
I think that's the best way to describe it.
It's an emotion that was imposed on us,
But it doesn't belong to us.
It doesn't feel good.
It's not our,
Our truth.
It's time for us to dissect it,
To really think,
Why is this here?
Like who told me something for me to believe this?
Is it true?
Is it really true?
And then start giving power to other people and start owning your own decisions.
Start owning the way you feel and start owning what you choose to feel every moment.
I know that when you're feeling that way,
It's very difficult to do that.
But if you start doing that when you are feeling well,
And then you start noticing when you feel triggered and then you start noticing why you're feeling triggered and with who,
Where are you?
What's the world?
What's the scenario?
And then you start removing yourself and then you expose yourself slowly and then you remove yourself,
Practice self care,
Create healthy boundaries.
So you start working with all those tools at the same time.
And then all of a sudden you are able to create more capacity to create more awareness about your triggers,
To create more awareness about the beliefs that are behind them and to start dissolving them and start taking the power away from them and start gaining that power back because you have the power to react how you want to react.
But we all have been conditioned in a specific way.
And sometimes because it has been for such a long time,
It seems impossible to change it,
But it is possible.
Words are powerful.
Yeah,
It's challenging.
And I have noticed when I start this,
It was exactly what they were feeling in themselves.
Yeah.
And so culturally passed it on.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Gratitude can be a portal to forgiveness and deepened understanding.
Never thought of it that way.
Yeah.
Amy,
Forgiveness and empathy and having the capacity to put that person that maybe shape you in a negative way,
Shape you in a way that is hurting you right now.
Maybe that person that did something to you and that person still has power over you,
What they say,
How they feel,
How they look at you.
Still,
They take power away from you.
Like if you cannot practice forgiveness and empathy with them,
And it doesn't have to be with them face to face.
I'm just saying,
Trying to understand,
Okay,
This person is doing this for reasons that maybe I don't understand.
I know that deep inside they are not doing it in a negative way to hurt me.
I know that deep inside maybe they believe that that was the best way of doing this.
And then you have to forgive them.
And I know it sounds really hard,
But until you don't forgive them,
They will have power over you.
And that's the reality.
They will always have power over you.
My dad used to have power over me until like a couple of years ago.
Anything I did,
If he made a comment,
It triggered me.
It made me feel less.
It made me feel upset.
Now I understand that that's who he is.
Sometimes he doesn't understand what I'm doing because he's from a different era.
He doesn't understand the work that I do.
He doesn't understand how I make money.
He doesn't understand some of the life choices I make.
And that's okay.
He doesn't need to understand them.
And I still love him for who he is.
And I don't need his support in everything that I do either.
It will be nice,
But it doesn't happen.
So that's fine.
So,
Okay.
Guys.
So I think it's time to just call it a day.
Yes.
I am struggling with this with my mom.
Do you ever do a life on this topic to get through this?
So what would you like Tia the topic to be?
Yes.
It's my mom.
I've seen a photo of her as an eight year old girl.
It makes me sad for her.
I am going to work with that image of her.
Thank you so much.
Yeah.
Amy,
Honestly,
And when you are able to,
To have that person in front of you,
If they are still alive and to just love them for who they are and completely remove the power that they have over you,
It just feels so good.
Yeah.
Inner child healing and forgiveness.
I'm not exactly sure about how you got over the triggers from others.
Okay.
I think about it,
Tia.
I did do a session about understanding your emotional triggers.
Tia,
You can listen to that.
If you go to my insight timer profile link and scroll down to the recordings,
You will see a recording that is called understanding your emotional triggers.
I think it was the name and I talk a lot about that in there.
So I will invite you to listen to that.
Okay.
And if there is still something missing,
Then just write a comment or send me a message.
Okay.
Thank you so much for your donation,
Jeffrey.
And okay to forgive yourself,
To not immediately feel able to feel gratitude,
Given your inner child attack,
And then you can move on and find the good in the world around you.
Love familiar suggestions.
Yeah.
I love that more.
Like sometimes,
Amy,
You don't have to force yourself to feel grateful about everything.
If that doesn't feel good to you right now,
You cannot tap into that right now.
That's okay.
Don't force yourself to do something that doesn't feel good to you.
Okay.
So start practicing more gratefulness in a way like you are grateful for your new apartment.
I know that you are grateful for having a partner.
You are grateful for having access to insight timer.
You are grateful for workshops that are coming up.
You are grateful to be able to attend these life sessions.
You are grateful for people that are supporting you in here.
You are grateful to live in a beautiful place in the world that is safe,
That is beautiful.
You have access to food.
There are so many things that you can be grateful for,
And they don't have to be very,
Very special things.
They are just beautiful things that are around you all day long.
You can be grateful for the sunshine.
You can be grateful for the rain and being in a place that is dry.
You can be grateful for the cold and being in a place that has heat.
There are so many things that you can be grateful about.
Okay.
So start tapping into that.
That's like a muscle.
You have to start flexing that muscle.
The more you flex it,
The easier it will be for you to keep doing it.
Okay.
So just keep doing it.
So Emilio,
Is inner child healing and forgiveness connected to feeling the saving of a clean,
Beautiful home that supports me?
Maybe that is the session.
Thank you,
Amy,
For the suggestion.
Thank you guys for your donations.
Okay.
So thank you so much guys for being here today.
I really love this session.
Really love your presence here and your energy.
I hope that this session helped you tap into yourself,
Grind yourself,
Start setting intentions for 2022 that feel good to you.
Okay.
And then if you are interested in learning more on how to do this,
I want you to know that in Inside Timer,
I do live sessions every week.
And then I have three courses that you can take and I have two upcoming workshops.
Okay.
One is a two day workshop on January and the other one is a five day workshop in February.
So if you are interested in taking this work deeper,
Feel free to join because it's going to be epic.
Okay.
So I hope you guys have an amazing rest of your day.
I will see you on Thursday if you can make it.
And Thursday is going to be all about gratefulness,
Reflecting about 2021 and being grateful about everything good that happened in there.
Okay.
So I invite you to start thinking about good things that happened to you in 2021.
Start looking at your agenda,
Start looking at your journal,
Start thinking about events that you did,
People that you saw,
Activities that you did,
And start making an inventory of all the things that you are grateful for.
Okay.
And then let's use that on Thursday.
When we're doing the meditation,
I will ask you to share things.
Let's just all share as many as we can.
I will share my own one too.
Okay.
Thank you guys so much.
And I will see you on Thursday.
Have a wonderful rest of your day.
Adios.
