So here's a higher wisdom that overachievers ignore.
It's the importance of being in your own rhythm.
You can always go totally against the wave,
Or you can ride the wave.
Surfers know,
I'm not a surfer,
But I'm sure surfers know how important it is to ride the wave.
So in ordinary life,
You wake up on a Sunday morning,
There's this energy in the air,
You can start working,
Or you can find stillness,
Make pancakes,
Drink a cup of tea.
You want to be with the wave,
You want to pick the cup of tea on Sunday mornings.
Notice how you feel,
Notice the energy around you,
And instead of brute forcing things,
Always ride the wave.
There's days you'll wake up and you'll have so much energy,
Do everything you need to do.
There's days you'll wake up and you'll be exhausted,
Rest as much as possible,
Rest,
Do fewer things those days.
If you stay in your own rhythm,
That gives you access to your intuition,
To your health,
And actually to higher performance,
Because your rhythm is there for a reason.
That ideal is becoming that we're productive like robots.
You're not a robot,
You're not meant to be productive like a robot,
Your creativity has rhythms.
So trust those rhythms,
Honor those rhythms,
Don't achieve in spite or against those rhythms,
Because those achievements won't be worth it,
Or that thing you achieved won't mean that much to you as you thought,
Or it'll probably be taken away from you,
Because you kind of can't go against your natural flow.
But still,
Exercise,
Meditate,
Work hard,
But also sleep,
But also rest,
And be on your own side.
That's following your rhythm,
That's a way of being on your own side unconditionally,
That's what I wish for you.
