Lektion 1
The Foundation Of Compassion
In this opening lesson, we explore the foundation of all compassion: loving-kindness toward yourself. You'll learn why self-compassion isn't selfish but essential, and practice offering yourself phrases of loving-kindness to establish an inner voice of care. This may feel unfamiliar at first—many of us are much kinder to others than to ourselves—but establishing care for yourself creates the stable ground from which genuine compassion for others can flow.
Lektion 2
Compassion - Meeting Suffering With Kindness
This lesson focuses specifically on compassion—karuna—the quality that arises when we encounter suffering and respond with the genuine wish to help. You'll learn how to meet pain with a heart that is both tender and strong, without getting overwhelmed or turning away. The guided practice teaches you to work with both self-compassion and compassion for others, maintaining your groundedness while extending care.
Lektion 3
Appreciative Joy - Celebrating Goodness
This lesson explores the third Brahmavihara—appreciative joy (mudita)—the capacity to genuinely celebrate goodness and success in ourselves and others without comparison or envy. You'll discover why joy is essential to a sustainable compassionate heart, and how the ability to recognize and celebrate goodness keeps our hearts resilient and open rather than depleted by focusing only on suffering.
Lektion 4
Equanimity - The Wisdom Of Balance
This lesson explores the fourth Brahmavihara—equanimity (upekkha)—the wise, balanced acceptance that allows us to care deeply while accepting what we cannot control. You'll learn why equanimity is essential for sustainable compassion, and that it's not indifference but an evenness of mind that keeps us centered in difficulty. The guided practice will help us to recognize that we can offer support and care, but cannot live others' lives for them.
Lektion 5
The Compassionate Heart
In this final lesson, we integrate all four Brahmaviharas into a complete practice, experiencing how they work together to create what Buddhist traditions call a "boundless heart." The guided meditation moves systematically through all four qualities, helping you experience how they flow naturally from one to another. This lesson includes guidance on continuing your practice and integrating these qualities into everyday life—transforming compassion from a meditation practice into a way of being.

While none of these concepts were new to me, I want to continue to deepen and strengthen these qualities in myself and this course was perfect for that. Also, I like how Chris brought this together quite simply and with her own loving personal touch. I would recommend this course for anyone who wants to grow in joy, compassion, and equanimity....
