Good morning and welcome to The Artist's Morning.
My name's Darius and I'm so grateful we get this time together.
This morning I woke up and I sat down to meditate and when I tapped into my heart,
When I tapped into my truth,
I could feel there was a longing,
A desire for support.
More specifically,
There was a longing for support from a fatherly figure,
Support from a masculine energy and it was a younger part of me,
A tender part of me that was looking for that support and I decided to give it to myself.
I love my father and he was not going to be the person to give me that type of support and so I remembered that this is an infinite universe and that there is guides,
Guidance and support everywhere.
And so today's meditation,
If you are open to it,
Is an opportunity to feel,
To experience,
To explore what it's like to receive the support from what I like to call a sacred father or a sacred masculine energy.
Before we go any further,
I want to say I can appreciate that everyone has a different relationship with the masculine or with fathers and father energy,
So please go slow,
Go gentle.
This is an exploration.
You can always slow down,
You can always swap yourself for that support.
You can give the support to yourself.
Let's begin.
I said a lot,
Let's just take a moment to feel how the words I shared have impacted you.
Take a couple deep breaths and just slow down.
What happens to your heart when we talk about father energy?
Is there any resistance?
Do you see yourself checking out,
Shutting down?
Is there any curiosity,
Any interest,
Any longing?
Or sometimes it's really hard to feel anything.
There are no right answers.
This is an exploration.
Whatever's here,
Whatever you're feeling,
Whatever resistance,
It's all here to serve you.
If you're open to it,
Let's take a nice deep breath together and let it all go.
If you are able,
Let's sit with a tall spine,
Shoulders gently back,
Remembering that you have power,
You have agency,
You get to decide how far you want to go this morning.
Continue taking deep,
Long breaths,
Bringing your attention to the rising and falling of your chest and your belly.
We are going to call in the energy of the sacred masculine.
This does not need to be a person.
It can be coming from within you.
Sometimes it can be personified through a specific person.
Sometimes it's just energy calling in the sacred masculine to hold the space for safety,
For structure,
For stability.
If you notice your breath gets shallow and your shoulders start to cave in and you start to get small,
An invitation to continue opening,
Continue softening,
Continue feeling what's alive in you.
Now,
For this next part of our meditation,
I'm going to share some affirmations that are intended to come through the sacred masculine and the invitation is to feel how they impact you.
Remember,
You can go slowly,
Take a deep breath here together and letting it all go.
I see you.
I hear you.
I am here with you.
I believe in you always and I love you forever.
Give yourself a moment to feel the impact of those words.
And if there's a tender part inside you,
Inside your heart,
You can always place one or two hands on your heart and hold yourself and support yourself.
Are you open to receiving support from the universe?
Are you open to receiving support from the sacred masculine energy?
And if the answer is no,
That is a perfectly fine answer.
And if the answer is yes,
That is a perfectly fine answer.
And if the answer is maybe,
That is a perfectly fine answer.
And repeat those affirmations again.
I see you.
I hear you.
I am here with you.
I believe in you always and I love you forever.
I love you forever.
Take a moment to check in with your body.
No judgment,
No trying to get it right.
Just notice there's a softness.
Notice if there's a tension sometimes in our shoulders and our foreheads and our jaws.
And there's no need to change any of it.
I just want you to be aware of it in case you weren't.
What could it be like if you softened a little?
If you opened a little?
And if you were willing to receive a little bit more love?
I have a very personal belief that most of the time everyone's doing the best they can.
The best they can with the tools they have,
With the experience they've had.
I know each situation is different.
And at times I've had a very complicated relationship with my own father.
For this last part of the meditation,
If you're open to it and please check in to make sure you're open to it.
I'm curious what would happen if we flip the affirmations and we tapped into a part of us that was able to give those affirmations forward to our fathers,
To our father figures.
Here they are again.
Imagining giving these to our father figures.
I see you.
I hear you.
I am here with you.
I believe in you always.
And I love you forever.
And just let that land.
And as our meditation comes to a close.
If you're open to it,
Place one or two hands on your heart.
Just share some gratitude.
That was a journey we went on.
Often a lot there in our relationships with our parents or parent figures.
Let's hold ourselves.
Let's love ourselves.
To bring our meditation to an end,
I'm going to repeat the affirmations again.
And this time it's just you giving it to yourself if you're open to it.
Remembering that you are powerful and we can give ourselves love always.
Let's take a deep breath here.
I see you.
I hear you.
I'm here with you.
I believe in you always.
And I will love you forever.
Bring your hands down if you like.
Let's take one more deep breath.
Breathing in and letting it go.
Bravo,
Dear artist.
Bravo,
Dear creator.
I have a sense that that might have been a challenging meditation.
I'm so grateful for you.
So grateful we made it to the end together.
For those joining us live at the artist morning,
I'm going to put 20 minutes on the clock and allow us to do some private personal journaling to perhaps continue the exploration on this same topic.
If you're catching us on a replay,
Perhaps on insight timer,
You can do the same.
Put some time on your clock and see what's here,
What's real,
What's accessible.
Thank you for meditating with me.
My name's Darius and I will see you next time.
