I'm going to introduce you to Golden Thread Breathing.
As we know,
Practicing,
Focusing on our breathing,
Calming our breathing,
Has so many benefits.
And for some of us,
Having a visual tool to do that with really helps.
We can be playful with it,
We can be imaginative,
And it can also help us focus in.
It's so wonderful to have such an abundance of resource,
Of different ways of accessing this,
Of playing,
Ways to focus and ways to calm ourselves.
And I learned this particular technique when studying birth.
So it's a technique that's often used to learn to calm the system with such an incredibly powerful physical event coming.
To remain anchored and in a space of kind of balance of control and surrender.
Of trust in oneself and process.
So I invite you to take a position that for you allows as much balance as your body is able to find today,
And as much ease as your body is able to find today.
I'm choosing to sit cross-legged with my hands gently resting in my lap because I like to be upright for this practice.
Ground yourself in the parts of your body that are anchoring you.
So for me that's my hips,
An incredible power base.
Taking a breath in that supports that anchoring down so that those parts of you then support and uphold the rest of your body.
And as you breathe out settle into yourself and close your eyes.
Taking another breath in for nourishment.
And as you breathe out soften your jaw and allow a wave of relaxation from that breath out going down through your torso.
And on your belly it meets a light source.
So the next time you come round to an in-breath breathe that light source up through your torso,
Up through your throat and into your mouth.
And as you breathe out you release your lips slightly and out of your mouth comes a beautiful golden thread.
And as you breathe in you source more of that light.
As you breathe out that thread continues to come from your mouth,
A place of expression,
Of truth,
Of connection.
Breathing in from that source of light and as you breathe out this thread continues to travel outward from you.
So carry on in your own rhythm of breath focusing on this thread of light,
This golden thread of light coming from you and your depths.
And if you do want to play with this I invite you to take your imagination wherever you choose.
That may be imagining this thread evolving into something beautiful that you're creating in the world or it may be weaving into other beautiful things in this world.
Collaborations,
Connections,
Places of inspiration and energizing.
There's no prescription here.
This is for you if you would like to take the invitation to be playful and curious as to where your thread leads.
And if not you may simply want to keep it simple.
With this thread coming from you may come out from you and just keep going or it may form into a beautiful golden dust that spreads around you.
However this works for you simply know that you have a source of light within you and every time you open your mouth,
Your heart,
You have the opportunity to share that with the world.
To offer your light into the world simply and beautifully.
Namaste
