This track is to support you when you just can't get started,
Whether that's not being able to get started at the beginning of the day,
Getting motivated with things,
Whether you're trying to start a task and just don't know where to start from and feel that sense of stuckness,
Or when emotionally it's just really hard to get going,
Your energy is low,
Sense of hopelessness perhaps,
We'll keep it simple and short.
As always,
This is not a magic wand,
But it is working with your system with all its wisdom.
So some days working with this track might shift things magnificently,
And other days it might just be by one percent.
But if that 1% makes a difference and ripples throughout the day,
Then that will be more significant than it feels at the start of that shift.
So whatever physical position you're in,
I'm going to ask you to shift up a little.
So if you're lying down curled up under a duvet,
I'm going to ask you to move the duvet down a bit.
Even if you're just opening out to lie on your back.
Let your limbs fall.
If you know what Shavasana is,
Perhaps go into that position,
Bringing an openness to the front of you and lifting your chin.
Or take the invitation to sit upright.
If you're sitting up already,
Then shift your hips to anchor you so that they uphold you and ripple out more space and openness to hold you upright.
Or,
If you'd like to take the invitation further and feel able,
Standing and planting your feet on the floor.
Negotiating to find some balance and as much ease as possible.
And from that routing,
Invite that up holding in through your whole body.
Rippling upwards,
Rolling your shoulders back,
Lifting your chin.
And whatever position you are in.
Opening up a bit of yourselves.
Breathing.
Allowing a little bit of space.
To recognise where you are at at the moment.
Already,
If anything,
What is different from just that physical shift.
Being stuck is okay.
It is human.
We all experience it.
Now again adjusting depending on what position physically you're in.
But lifting one arm over above your head.
So both arms are stretched,
But one is pointing down towards your feet and one is pointing towards the sky.
Or in line with your head.
And then as you're breathing,
Just swapping arms.
So the other one is now.
Pointing down towards your feet and the other pointing up towards your head.
And then going into a pulse,
Swapping those arms,
Swapping those arms.
And breathing.
With this movement,
We're shifting energy.
Releasing some of the stagnancy.
And then resting both arms down by your side.
Bringing your hands up towards your heart space,
Just hovering in front of it.
With some loving energy,
And then breathing in,
And opening your arms out to the side.
Breathing again.
And inviting in.
Possibility.
And bringing your arms down to your side,
Wriggling your hands and your toes.
To bring some movement in.
A little bit of a buzz.
And if you want to,
Shimmy that through your body,
A little wriggle.
Take it as far as you want.
I don't know about you,
But I'm finding myself smiling as I do this.
I like a little shimmy.
And then if you're lying down,
I'm going to invite you to sit up,
Taking a breath in.
And sitting up.
If you're sitting up.
I invite you to stand if you can,
Or just lift your chin a little higher.
And if you're standing,
I invite you to relax the shimmy and just take one step forward.
Inviting your system into the simplicity of one step.
And from here,
Check in with,
What do you know?
If you're stuck mentally with I don't knows,
Come back to what do you know.
Just one thing.
And then what else?
What else do you know?
It's an invitation to get your brain open,
To get it out of this place of stuckness,
Of believing it doesn't know anything.
And it doesn't matter what those things that you know are.
If it is,
I know that I can feel my feet on the floor.
I know that it is raining outside.
It doesn't matter.
It's starting with something.
And keep asking yourself,
What do you know?
If you're more in the zone of.
Emotionally not being able to move.
It might be that you want to check in with,
Or what can I do?
What is one thing I can manage?
And that question applies if you're mentally stuck with something.
What's the first sentence to write?
Or,
You know,
Starting a project.
Checking in with what you do know and then checking with,
Okay,
What can I manage?
Because by focusing on what we do know and what we can do,
Rather than on what we can't,
Really shifts our brain's way of thinking.
And it gives us much more access to cognition,
Much more access to our ability,
Much more access to our inner resources.
So we're keeping it simple.
What can you do?
Something that is manageable.
And then I invite you to go into the rest of your day.
With this mentality of one step at a time.
Exploring,
Okay,
What do I know?
And then exploring,
What can I do here?
What is the one next manageable step?
And of course,
Checking with that pace.
As I start to step forward,
Is my energy shifting?
Can I now find a flow?
Or is it one of those days where as I step forward,
I'm still tired?
This is one of those days that that is where I'm at.
So keeping that rhythmic pace,
Taking rests where you can.
But staying in this place of agency,
Of working with your system where it's at.
Rather than letting it run you.
And of course,
Sometimes the one thing we know and the one thing we can do is rest,
Is cancel things and rest.
But it's about having autonomous choice over that and checking in consciously.
As I say,
Some days this practice takes us to that place of keeping it really simple but it allays any inner judgment about ourselves because we have proactively chosen to simplify and strip back and slow down.
And other days this practice can get us going and into flow when we really thought that wasn't possible.
So,
Whatever the rest of this day looks like for you,
Go well and thank you.
