Welcome to this guided meditation called belief.

Please get comfortable,

Seated or lay down if you wish.

And closing one eye,

Thank you.

Closing the next eye,

Thank you.

Now please give the whole body a good mighty squeeze.

Muscle tight,

Let all your body get very tight.

And ready now to go soft and super,

Super relaxed.

Let's begin listening together about the leaf.

So once upon a time,

A fresh young leaf from a real old tree,

Hundreds of years old.

And that's also what trees do.

They just get older and older and very old.

A lovely young long deep green leaf with little veins and a pointed top,

Extremely shiny,

Almost like wax.

Now the young leaf was keen for another adventure.

Leaf had often listened to a young girl walking by the big oak tree.

He recognized her too for her neatly plaited hair and freckles on her nose.

But noticed she seemed just a little bit lonely and convinced she needed an adventure too.

The green leaf,

So light,

Flew on the air with wind and landed on the young girl's front door,

Waiting patiently.

Young Susie first saw this shiny green leaf outside her home,

But she walked past the leaf on her front door in a kind of hurry.

Thirsty for a drink,

She ran into the kitchen,

Opened up the fridge and helped herself to a cool glass of juice.

Now in her back garden,

Susie has one single swing,

For young Susie was used to being a bit lonely.

As she went to the back door,

Susie saw a similar leaf,

Similar a long deep green leaf,

With little veins,

Pointed top,

Very shiny,

Almost like wax.

The garden swing gave moments of sheer joy and Susie for that moment did cling to her swing as her feet left the ground and everything went topsy-turvy,

Up and down the world did seem.

When Susie came back in the house,

She sat on her single favourite chair,

A favourite place,

And there it was again,

The leaf,

All green and nicely shaped,

With a pointed top,

With little patterns of veins,

Very shiny indeed.

Leaf almost killed like a smile,

For she was beginning to notice him.

Young Susie sat feeling bored and quickly decided to go upstairs to her own little bedroom.

Now as she made her way upstairs,

She saw it on the stairs,

The leaf.

This made her a tiny bit curious,

But into her bedroom she did go,

Jumping on her soft bed.

She let out a sigh,

Thinking what to do,

And there it was again,

The leaf.

So both did stare at one another.

She began to remember all the times she thought she had seen this leaf.

She decided to pick the leaf up and feel its cool and smooth texture,

Its perfect shape,

And felt its thinness and a deep green colour.

She smelt it,

But it smelt really of nothing,

So clean,

So waxy and shiny.

So in her hand she declared out loud,

You are small and I am bigger and I am growing.

The leaf talked back at her about their different sizes.

Susie instantly loved the little leaf,

And the more he talked,

The smaller and smaller Susie became.

Susie stared at herself and stared at the big green leaf,

For she was just the right size to sit upon it,

And so she did.

Oh good,

Said leaf,

We can begin our adventure.

And then came a draft,

A wind,

Ready to take them both far away,

Showing Susie the story of the leaf.

It showed Susie the wind,

And although she could not see the wind,

She felt its presence.

As air rushed over her face,

And a plaited hair,

And through her,

The wind laughed as he explained,

I am everywhere.

The leaf loved the wind,

For it made him dance and speed high and low.

Leaf took Susie,

With the help of the wind,

Down a river,

For he's great at staying afloat.

So many patterns the surface of the water made,

Ripples and circles.

They listened together,

To the sound of water,

The river.

Trickles,

Splashes,

Babbling water it did speak to them both.

They peered into it,

And could clearly see silvery fishes,

That seemed to swim pleasantly close by their side.

Ducks were busy,

Ducks bopping their heads into the water,

The river,

And didn't really see Leaf and Susie.

Then suddenly,

Suddenly they caught a ride on the back of an otter,

Who took them both in a different direction.

Did you know otters use small rocks in their hands,

To open delicious clams to eat,

Said Leaf.

Really,

Said Susie.

The otter,

With his tickly whiskers,

Took them both back onto land.

He shook his coat so fast,

Both did leap off back to dry land,

And laid there for a while they both did.

A white goat rolled in the luscious green grass by the riverside,

And both got caught on his neck,

Whilst he was rolling about.

Next they were heading up the mountain altogether,

With this lively happy goat.

Soon the land became small,

As they all headed up,

Rock by rock.

Goats loved to lick salty rocks full of nutrients,

Said Leaf.

Really,

Said Susie.

On the way up,

Climb by climb,

Higher and higher the mountain goat did go.

Then they thought someone was waving at them.

But what it was,

Was only lots of tiny,

So tiny,

Wild blue flowers,

Waving their blue petals in the breeze.

Goat was after a special resting,

Relaxing place,

With a view,

To really get some inner peace.

Goat made its bed in a lovely spot,

And the deepest fresh air floated above their heads.

Clouds big and white,

Grew bigger and bigger,

And almost filled the sky completely.

Amongst the white clouds,

A flock of noisy seagulls came closer and closer,

And they landed next to them,

Busy,

Busy making their nests.

Once settled,

The birds began looking deeply into the lovely mountain view from up high,

And quietly listened.

Leaf began to talk a lot,

All about his family,

That came from an old town,

Hundreds of years old,

And all the leaves it did have,

And how they too have many adventures,

Though often return home after a long day or so away.

That's why you see leaves everywhere.

Now some leaves,

He explained,

Naturally don't go back,

But disappear back into the earth,

When they've had hundreds of adventures of course,

Where they wait to be reborn back onto their family tree.

Wind did listen too,

And understood they would need a lift soon.

The wind did smile,

And picked Leaf and Susie both up,

And said,

Let's take you back home to that old,

Old tree.

So they waved goodbye to the happy,

Relaxed goat,

And to the flock of seagulls,

Nesting in peace.

The special wind made them feel like they were floating,

All the way down the mountainside.

Leaf said this is one of the best rides,

A gentle speed they did descend,

Floating,

Floating,

With a little swing,

A little rocking,

Side to side,

Heading,

Guided by the wind himself,

Back to land at the right spot,

That being of course where the old tree lives,

And keeps on growing.

This old tree has so many leaves,

Too many to count for sure.

So under this old,

Old tree,

Leaf did lay,

And settled once more.

Leaf assured Susie,

Once you step off me,

Back to full size you shall become.

So let's not say goodbye,

But see you later instead.

He showed off the old tree to Susie.

Look now how grand and tall this old tree is,

And in a sense is our father and mother all in one,

And how much all the leaves are loved,

And encouraged to have many adventures that we will all share over the days,

And over the years,

And over hundreds of years,

Stories.

And Leaf told Susie,

I shall visit you again,

So look to find me,

And we shall explore things all around us.

So Susie smiled very brightly,

Looking at all of Leaf's friends,

Stepped off him and grew back into a young girl.

She instantly hugged the old tree,

And breathed hundreds of years of loving energy,

Like a mother and father all rolled into one.

All the leaves rustled together with excitement.

Wind did dance at her feet.

But it was nearly tea time for young Susie,

So she then skipped all the way home,

Knowing everything would be magical from now on,

Thanks to the adventurous leaf in that old,

Old tree.

Thank you.

The end.
