Walking through the forest with my daughter, I suddenly saw three habitual ways I reject an uncomfortable moment: numbing, attacking, and becoming the victim. What happens when I notice them and remember my “star”: the willingness to feel the rawness of what I actually feel?

Lesson 8
The Final Lesson
By evening, I was still caught in the battle, trying to think my way back to the spaciousness I had been practicing all day. The harder I tried, the more contracted I became. Then I stopped trying to figure it out and asked: What is true for me right now? The moment I touched the truth, something opened. The battle dissolved, and I found myself back in clear presence with my daughter, with myself, and with life.
