Let the heart have its way with you.
The feeling body will tell us the truth.
The heart at the center of us does always speak something.
Even though we don't always want to hear it.
Our feelings are good guides.
They're not problems to be solved.
They're not a mistake that happened.
They're telling you about something that mattered,
Something that wants your attention.
They're a mechanism to bring more care,
More concern and more compassion into your life.
So when a surge of feeling comes for you.
Pause.
Be with it.
Stop.
Let it in.
Let it speak.
And learn to listen to it.
I know,
My darling,
Feelings can be a lot.
They can be inconvenient.
They can come in and interrupt our day with complicated feelings,
Complicated thoughts.
Tangled webs that we don't quite understand.
Our heart can be a baffling thing,
Even to ourselves.
It can target us in ways we don't understand.
It pulses towards delight.
And yet I know that this heart,
This beating,
Pulsing compass in our core gives us such good guidance.
For sure,
We don't want to get lost in only following AHA.
We need our mind and to make wise decisions too.
Yet our heart has good guidance for us,
And our feelings do tell us the truth.
So soften right now.
And see if you can drop some of the bracing in your body.
See if you can let the shoulder blades on the back of the body slide a little towards each other.
And maybe drop a little down too.
See if you can give a little more weight to the chair.
If you can soften your palms,
Soften the grip.
Maybe you can also soften the front of the body,
The belly.
And see if there's any oh-so-subtle,
Almost imperceptible armoring around the heart.
When we get to deal with tricky feelings,
Sometimes we armor our heart.
We can feel like we don't have the resourcedness or the resilience to let it through.
Sometimes feeling our feelings takes time,
Takes space,
Takes energy.
Takes emotional intelligence.
Sometimes we really do have to bracket our feelings to get through caring for others,
Tending to all the things.
And yet the heart still comes calling for us.
If it were to have a voice,
Maybe it says something like,
Hey,
I'm the one within you that feels deeply,
That is most alive,
That is most part of this place.
Hey,
I'm your heart and I have messages for you.
I want you to touch into me.
It's tender and beautiful,
Alive and wondrous in here.
I teach you about love,
About living well,
About life,
About feeling fully.
I will teach you many things if you make space for me.
Hello,
I'm your heart.
I'd love for you to listen to me.
I don't know if that's exactly what your personal heart is saying.
I do think that each of our hearts would love for us to listen a little more.
So drop your energy down out of the mind.
And coming a little closer to your heart.
Give it some encouraging words.
Hello heart,
I'd like to hear you.
See what it wants to say.
Often the heart speaks in subtle ways.
Its voice can be soft,
Quiet,
Still.
Sometimes the heart is storming,
Raging.
Because we haven't heard it for ages,
And it really,
Really wants us to listen.
Wants us to know it,
Wants us to know ourselves.
If there are feelings here my lovely in this practice today,
Welcome them in.
You don't have to feel them all at once.
Just touch in a little.
Take a little bite of your inner well.
Oh,
I have a flavor of what's inside of me.
I know what I need to care for myself.
Coming in close to ourselves is one of the greatest gifts that we can give ourselves.
It's one of the most precious offerings that we can make.
For when we know ourselves,
We can know others.
When we dare to be close to ourselves,
We can dare to be close to others.
So let your heart have its say today.
Commit to learning to listen to it.
Commit to making space to it.
Commit to giving it rum.
Giving it time to breathe.
Your heart has wisdom for you.
It is the most precious part of you.
It's the part of you that loves and lives.
Let yourself be touched by your inner world.
Come into contact with yourself.
Life is so rich when we touch into the deeper layers.
It's so precious when we let it be.
There's so much potency here in the Ha.
So as you go from this session.
Tell your heart that you'll continue to make space for it,
That you'll listen in to it in moments.
That you will let its wisdom inform you.
That you care about yourself,
About your inner world.
About your own life.
This is such a bold and brave and beautiful gift to give yourself.
Let your heart have its way with you.
Hear its wisdom.
There is great grace here.
So I thank you for your practice.
I wish you a day of heartfulness and wonder.
And the wisdom that only your heart can bring.
