Finding Forgiveness- Freeing The Heart And Letting Love Flow Again

With Tess | Being Moved

There are experiences in life that harden us — betrayals, disappointments, misunderstandings, old wounds that linger long after the moment has passed. Over time, resentment can quietly shape our identity, our relationships, and even our nervous system. This five-session journey offers a compassionate, grounded path toward forgiveness — one that honors the truth of what happened while gently loosening the grip of grievance. Through meditation, reflection, and embodied awareness, you will explore forgiveness as both a conscious practice and a meaningful inner threshold. You will learn how to work wisely with the mind, soften hardened emotional patterns, reclaim your power, and cultivate self-forgiveness. Through this course, you may: * Release long-held resentment and emotional tension * Develop greater emotional clarity and self-awareness * Learn practical meditation tools for working with anger and hurt * Reclaim personal agency and step out of victim narratives * Build compassion — for yourself and others * Discover insight and growth within difficult experiences * Cultivate genuine self-forgiveness * Restore a sense of openness, strength, and inner freedom This course is suitable whether you are working with recent conflict, long-standing wounds, or subtle resentments that quietly limit your capacity to love and live fully. Forgiveness is not about excusing harm. It is about freeing ourselves from being burdened by it forever. This is not about spiritual bypassing. It is about emotional maturity. It is about choosing freedom and letting ourselves dare to love and live fully again. Forgiveness does not change the past. It changes how you carry it. And in that shift, the heart begins to open again.

Meet your Teacher

Tess is a Dharma teacher, movement guide, and rites of passage facilitator devoted to supporting people through the tender thresholds of change. With three decades of Insight Meditation practice, she is accredited through Spirit Rock Meditation Center and brings a grounded, compassionate approach to inner transformation. Her work weaves meditation, embodied awareness, ritual, and nature-based wisdom to help people move through grief, forgiveness, and life transitions with clarity and courage. As an accredited 5Rhythms teacher, she has spent over a decade guiding conscious movement experiences outdoors, creating spaces where emotion can move safely through the body rather than become stuck. Tess has trained in Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy and supports wilderness rites of passage via her work with the School of Lost Borders, supporting others to cross meaningful life thresholds with integrity and heart. Her teaching is rooted in the belief that forgiveness, like grief, is not about bypassing pain — but about tending it wisely, reclaiming agency, and allowing love to flow again. UK-born and now living in coastal California, Tess finds refuge in wide skies, wild seas, stillness, the dharma, dirty basslines, and beautiful boots. She warmly welcomes you to take this course and come home to the heart.

Lesson 1

Choosing Forgiveness —Calling It In To The Heart

Forgiveness begins as a quiet, radical choice of the heart. It is not about excusing what happened, or pretending the hurt never was. It is about standing at the edge of what binds us and deciding to move forward. In this session, we explore how the mind clings to grievance and how willingness can open the first doorway. We set an intention to return to this practice again and again, with patience and care. This session offers a gentle invitation to step toward freeing your heart-and to letting the greater currents of forgiveness flow through you.

Lesson 2

Compassion — Softening The Hardened Places

Compassion is the steady presence that allows the heart to open. In this session, we turn toward the pain, anger, and disappointment we may have carried for years. We build the inner strength to feel what needs to be felt -without being consumed by it. This session teaches how to hold the truth of our experience while softening rigid patterns that keep us closed. Through presence and gentle attention, we create the space for release and renewal, and perhaps for forgiveness to expand within us - as our heart feels like it has finally been heard.

Lesson 3

Reclaiming Power — Stepping Out Of The Victim Story

In this session, we explore how old stories of resentment and hurt may have fused with identity. We explore the Drama Triangle so we can better see when we are in dysfunctional relating; we practice stepping out of the roles that do not serve us, and back into our adult agency. We will grow greater awareness so we can choose to think about the situation in a way that serves us, that leaves us with power and potency- rather than feeling at the mercy of what happened. Being harmed is real. Becoming defined by it is optional. We put down old stories - and make room for new, wise, and empowering ways forward.

Lesson 4

Harvest Of The Heart — How Finding The Hidden Gifts Helps Us To Forgive

This session supports the process of forgiveness by inviting reflection on what growth, wisdom, or clarity has emerged from the difficulties we are working with- how we have grown from what happened. We explore how pain can deepen empathy, strengthen boundaries, and illuminate what truly matters. By noticing what can be harvested, we allow the experience to enrich us- rather than define us. This is the work of turning past difficulty into insight, resilience, and into being a more loving, forgiving, and generous human.

Lesson 5

Self-Forgiveness — Coming Home To The Heart

Often, the most tender work of all is forgiving ourselves. We turn toward regret, shame, and self-judgment with honesty, compassion, and care. Self-forgiveness is not avoidance of what happened, of what we did— it is finding accountability held with gentleness. This session guides you to release harsh inner narratives and to soften toward yourself. To trust that you have always been doing your best- even when it doesn't seem that way. When we bring care back to ourselves, then the heart opens, allowing love, trust, and vitality to move through us- move within us- again.
