Meetings fill our days.
Conversations with clients,
Project discussions with teammates,
Calls with partners and suppliers.
It's easy to move from one to the next on autopilot.
Taking even a one-minute pause beforehand changes how we show up.
This practice helps you ground in the present moment and clarify your intentions.
So settle into your seat,
Close your eyes if that feels comfortable,
And move attention down to the points of contact between the body and the floor or chair.
Staying here if you choose to or shifting attention to the natural rhythm of breath moving in and out of the body.
Now ask yourself,
What matters in this meeting?
What do I hope to achieve?
How do I want people to feel afterwards?
Let clear intentions form,
Not a list to memorize,
Just a sense of what matters.
Bring to mind the people you'll meet.
Colleagues you know well or perhaps someone new.
Hold them briefly in your awareness and wish them well.
Now bringing attention back to those points of contact between body and floor or chair or resting it on the sensations of breath until you hear the sound of the bells.
