Namaskaram,
I'm Ananya,
And this practice is called Respond,
Don't React.
There is a moment,
So small,
That most people miss it.
Something happens and the body moves before awareness arrives.
A word is spoken,
A message appears,
A situation shifts,
And instantly there is a surge,
A tightening in the chest,
A rush of heat,
A thought that says,
Act now.
This is reaction.
Fast,
Protective,
Automatic.
It is the nervous system trying to keep you safe by moving quickly.
But reaction is not always aligned with who you truly are.
So today,
We are not trying to stop reaction.
We are learning to see it.
Because the moment you see it,
You are no longer inside it.
Gently allow your body to settle.
Let the shoulders soften,
As if they no longer need to brace.
Unclench the jaw.
Soften the space behind the eyes.
Let the breath move naturally.
Notice the breath without changing it.
Now,
Take a slightly deeper inhale and a slower exhale.
Again,
In and out.
Feel how even this small pause interrupts the pattern.
And now,
Bring to mind a recent moment where you reacted quickly.
Not to analyze it,
Just to see it.
Notice the trigger.
Notice the reaction.
Notice how fast it took over.
Now,
Imagine that same moment again.
But this time,
There is awareness.
There is a pause.
Just one breath.
In that breath,
You are not reacting.
You are watching.
Feel the difference.
The situation is the same,
But you are no longer being pulled.
From this place,
You have choice.
To speak or to stay silent.
To act or to wait.
Or to do nothing at all.
Response is slower,
But it is grounded.
Reaction gives control to the moment.
Response keeps control within you.
Now,
Gently repeat within yourself,
I do not need to react immediately.
I can choose my response.
I am not controlled by every trigger.
I am steady.
I am aware.
I respond with clarity.
Let these words settle into the body.
From now on,
Every trigger becomes a doorway.
A doorway to pause.
A doorway to choose.
A doorway back to yourself.
Stay here for a few moments.
And when you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back.
Carry this with you.
Between what happens and what you do,
There is space.
And in that space is your power.
