Namaskaram.
I'm Ananya.
As you listen,
Allow the body to rest just as it is.
There is nothing you need to do.
Nothing you need to change.
Simply listen and let rest come to you naturally.
Begin by arriving exactly where you are.
There is nothing you need to change.
Nothing you need to fix.
Allow the body to rest in its natural position,
The way it has chosen to lie down tonight.
Feel the surface beneath you.
Notice how it supports you without effort.
You do not need to hold your body up.
You do not need to manage anything.
If the eyes are open,
They may gently soften.
If the eyes are closed,
They may rest comfortably behind the eyelids.
Sounds may be present in the background.
Near sounds.
Far sounds.
They can exist without needing your attention.
You do not need to label them.
You do not need to follow them.
The mind may still be active.
Thoughts may be moving quickly or slowly.
Planning.
Remembering.
Replaying.
All of that is allowed.
Nothing here needs to be pushed away.
Nothing needs to be quieted forcefully.
For now,
Simply noticing that you are here.
Listening.
Resting.
Breathing is happening on its own,
Just as it always does.
There is no need to guide it.
No need to improve it.
As you listen to these words,
Your nervous system begins to receive a signal of safety.
A signal that it is allowed to slow down.
A signal that nothing is required right now.
You are invited into rest.
A rest that does not need to become sleep.
A rest that may gently turn into sleep on its own.
Begin by sensing the natural weight of your body.
Not creating heaviness.
Simply noticing what is already there.
Feel the back of the head resting.
The neck supported.
Allow the scalp to soften.
As though the skin itself is letting go.
The forehead smooths.
The tiny muscles around the eyes begin to relax.
Eyeballs resting gently.
Floating comfortably in their sockets.
The cheeks soften.
The jaw loosens.
Teeth may part slightly.
The tongue rests wide and easy inside the mouth.
Notice the throat area.
Allow it to feel open and unstrained.
Now bring awareness to the shoulders,
Often holding more than they need to.
Without effort,
Allow them to drop.
Even a small release is enough.
Arms resting alongside the body or resting on the body.
Hands relaxed.
Fingers loose.
Notice there is nothing to grasp.
Nothing to hold on to.
Bring awareness to the chest.
Notice the subtle movement of breath.
The chest rises.
The chest falls.
You are not controlling the breath.
You are simply noticing breathing happening.
If the breath is shallow,
Allow it.
If it deepens,
Allow that too.
Each exhale may invite a sense of settling,
As though the body is gently sinking downward.
Notice the belly softening naturally.
No need to hold it in.
No need to shape the breath.
The lower back settles.
The hips release their grip.
Thighs resting heavily.
Knees supported.
Calves softening.
Feet warm.
Toes resting without effort.
The entire body is now resting as one.
Breathing as one.
Nothing needs to move.
Nothing needs to happen.
Now allow your awareness to gently turn inward.
Not focusing.
Not concentrating.
Simply sensing the experience of being.
Being here.
Being supported.
Imagine a sense of quiet safety spreading through the body.
Not forced.
Not imagined sharply.
Just a gentle suggestion.
As though the nervous system recognizes that it can finally stand down.
The part of you that stays alert all day is allowed to rest now.
There is nothing you need to monitor.
Nothing you need to prepare for.
Thoughts may continue to arise.
This is natural.
Each thought can be met with softness.
Nothing you need to prepare for.
Thoughts may continue to arise.
This is natural.
Each thought can be met with softness.
No need to answer it.
No need to follow it.
Thoughts can drift by like clouds crossing a wide-open sky.
They move at their own pace.
They fade when they are ready.
Underneath the thoughts there is a deeper stillness.
You do not need to find it.
It is already present.
This stillness does not require effort.
It does not require awareness.
It simply exists.
You may begin to sense spaciousness.
A gentle widening inside.
As though the mind has more room to rest.
As though the body has more permission to soften.
The breath continues on its own.
The heart beats steadily.
Nothing needs to be adjusted.
If images appear,
They may fade naturally.
If sensations shift,
Allow them.
There is no correct experience here.
This is a place of allowing.
A place of non-doing.
If sleep begins to approach,
You do not need to hold yourself awake.
If awareness remains,
You are still resting deeply.
The body knows how to move towards sleep.
The mind knows how to unwind.
You are simply giving them space.
Now the words slow even more.
There is less to listen to.
More space between sounds.
Breath becomes quieter.
The body feels heavier.
As if sinking gently.
Thoughts become fewer.
Longer gaps appear between them.
Awareness softens.
Spreads out.
No edges.
No center.
Just resting.
Being held.
Time loses meaning.
The body breathes.
The mind rests.
Nothing else is needed.
There is nothing more you need to hear.
Nothing more you need to do.
You may continue resting here.
Or allow sleep to arrive gently.
Naturally.
Without effort.
The words begin to fade now.
Silence remains.
Holding you.
Resting with you.
