
Release The Hold Of The Past: Affirmations For Renewal

In this affirmation practice, you’ll uncouple gently from old stories, versions of you that have done their work, and past energy you no longer need to carry. You’ll be guided back into your true self in this moment — grounded, here, and ready for what’s becoming.

Hello and thank you for joining me for these affirmations for unhooking our energy from where it might be stuck in the past which is over and still has a hold.
Now I like to think of affirmations as truths that our wisdom already knows and this wisdom wants to contact us so that our inner world can feel its own truth again and especially so that we can feel safe to let go of what isn't true for us or may not be true for us anymore.
So I'm inviting you to let the affirmations in this practice be heard and held in your body as that voice of truth and to activate confidence in you around your capacity to honor and also unhook your energy from what has passed,
Is over,
Is yesterday,
What's outlived its usefulness and may be actually holding you back.
So give yourself whatever grace is needed to help you move forward free of shame and full of gladness.
The wonderful thing about being human is we do grow and change and evolve and life can be very exciting,
Interesting and creative when we allow that to happen.
Sometimes we need a little help and I hope these affirmations and what they activate in you becomes a supply of that support for you.
I also want to remind you in case this reminder is needed that you don't have to wait till you are not suffering or till you or your life is perfect to allow yourself to release and to move forward.
This is available to you right now with no conditions and even when we're letting something leave our space we can still honor its contribution to whatever goodness is traveling forward with us now.
So go ahead and take a moment just to settle in to your own energy,
To feel your body again,
To feel your space and take that space.
Have a sense that this space is welcoming you in and you have time.
The welcome that is in the air that is right now brushing against the hairs on your skin.
The sense of welcoming air that flows freely into your nostrils,
Your throat,
Chest,
Lungs.
Gathering into your own energies.
Give yourself space,
Give yourself grace.
Take a deep breath in and out and feel the whole weight of your bones anchor a little more deeply down to the earth.
Release demand,
See if you can release expectation and just be you in this moment.
Give yourself that dignity.
Let's take three releasing breaths together to begin.
Then we can feel how there's always movement on the inside of us,
Always energy circulating.
Nothing is really stagnant.
When we bring our consciousness to that movement of our breath we are feeling that rhythm of life inside us which is a movement of renewal,
Of releasing and beginning,
Renewing.
So we'll take these first three breaths together and in the first one let's begin.
Inhale gently,
Fully and as you exhale feel space opening behind you.
And for the second breath inhale gently,
Fully and then breathe out through the back of your body letting old weight drop.
Beautiful.
And now for the third breath breathe in gently,
Fully and let the exhale travel down your spine releasing what's complete.
And in the background you can keep feeling what is supportive about that breath or any one of those three breaths.
The opening of the space on the exhale,
The releasing down through your spine.
And as space opens up the deeper voice in you of self-trust,
Confidence,
Knowing can come through to speak up and be heard.
Beginning the affirmations repeating after me.
I claim this space as the place where I unhook from the past that's holding me back.
It is safe for me to uncouple my energy from what is done,
Past,
Stagnant.
I claim right now as a place where forward momentum can happen.
Feeling that ground grounding you,
You might take a moment now to take your fingertips to your chest just to touch base with the rhythm of your own heartbeat and breathe into that contact between your heartbeat and your fingers and just say hello to your presence.
To all your parts and pieces that have lived through so much with you and some are holding on in ways that aren't needed now because they are tied to the past no longer here and you can help these parts unhook while honoring how much strength and courage they've shown in your life.
I give thanks for my strong heart which keeps showing up.
I am grateful for every lesson that has shaped me.
It is now safe to step out of the past and into this moment.
Breathe in deeply and exhale fully.
Feeling that uncoupling of your energy from the old,
The debris,
The sticky stuff,
All the yesterdays that have gone they've had their time.
It is safe to leave the past behind.
It has served you in its own way.
It is safe to be here now.
It is safe to move forward.
Let's now remove our energy from old hooks.
Breathe in and feel the space opening and with your exhale let go fully.
Release your grip.
Soften your energy.
I unhook myself from what no longer belongs to me.
I unhook myself from expectations shaped by the past.
I unhook my energy from who I may have had to be.
I unhook myself from unfinished business that no longer needs me.
I unhook myself from stories that have already done their work.
And out releasing.
I unhook myself from past versions of myself.
You can be whole and complete right now without having to carry all those versions with you.
You can be grateful for all of them and honor them and live inside the clear bright interiority of you present here now.
Alive.
That lightens everything.
And now again to assert these endings.
To unhook from anywhere that is draining our energy so we can move forward.
I unhook myself from what no longer serves my energy.
I welcome the energy that moves me forward even when the path is unclear.
I trust what's opening up as I let go.
I stand in appreciation of who I am becoming.
I am grateful for my capacity to grow and evolve.
I trust that I am always supported.
I am excited to meet all that I have made space for.
I welcome all the good things coming.
Very intentionally now take a big breath in and your out-breath blesses all the old on its way as you unhook,
Unhook,
Unhook.
You may want to take some more breaths to really feel that disconnecting.
That permission you're giving for the past to take its place back in the past and to free your energy with your breath.
The words unhook,
Unhook,
Unhook as you exhale can help you really embody that and feel it and to activate that powerful action energetically.
And when you're ready now you can just rest here in your own body,
Your breath,
In what you have claimed and claimed back to you.
You might whisper to yourself I receive,
I welcome all the good things coming.
Let them roll in now their space for them to be and thrive,
Be seen,
Be heard.
The opportunities,
The connections,
The feelings,
The dreams coming true,
The visions becoming clearer,
Receiving all your own energy,
Its goodness unburdened by things that may in the past have attached to it and obscured your view.
You might like to take a moment to sense or visualize light,
Radiant light traveling up your spine and aligning you from within,
Traveling in all directions through every nerve fiber from your spine.
To feel a brightness rising through your center and expanding through your being in all directions so you're feeling your body align around that inner light.
You know for a precious moment or two you can just bask in that glow,
Absorbing and receiving it.
Just as you would be absorbing magnesium salts or healing essential oils from a bath.
Bathe,
Bathe here.
Recognizing,
Appreciating new life is awakening in your cells,
Plumping your blood,
Amplifying your radiance and presence.
And there may be parts that are feeling tenderness or ache or fatigue.
And know that this is normal after doing some shedding.
Shedding the past that's lived inside those aches and that tenderness.
Been stored inside that fatigue for too long.
And as it leaves you're just feeling it again.
Be kind to what feels tender and exalt what feels good and wise and attractive.
Breathing softly through all of it.
That's the way.
Now as we close our practice here,
Remember you can come back to this space anytime.
It's a good way to tend to the circulation of our energy and to lessen the possibility of accumulating too much,
Too many burdens on our healing and our happiness and our personal growth and path.
So thank you for being here.

Being with yourself and allowing yourself to do some energy tending and clearing.
