Hello my friend.
This is a meditation.
To guide you to return to yourself,
Your own body,
Your own centre.
Your own clear truth and ease after the hurt of feeling judged or misunderstood.
When we do feel someone else's judgment.
And that that judgment is a misunderstanding,
A misreading of us,
Something happens that makes us feel outside of ourselves and confused.
It's that our identity is becoming temporarily outsourced.
Nothing has changed.
But it is hard.
Nothing has changed,
You are still you.
But these are hard moments when someone confidently tells a story about us that simply isn't true.
And what can happen is that we begin to look at ourselves through their eyes and instead of asking who am I?
We're asking who do they think I am?
So without noticing it they've become the reference point.
We feel isolated from ourselves.
We might feel shame.
Healing means quietly returning to ourselves on the inside and to our centre.
The goal isn't to make everyone understand you.
That's impossible.
There is no one in life whom everyone understands and everyone gets unfairly judged.
That has so much to do with the person offering the judgment and not with who you are or what you're doing.
So the goal is to remain connected to yourself.
Every time you come back into your own body,
Your own being,
Knowing,
Your nervous system settles more and more and your centre becomes easier and easier to find.
So,
As we begin.
Notice the gentle weight of your body.
As it meets the support it's on.
Take a nice clearing breath.
Might have been carrying a lot so breathing in and as you breathe out relax your shoulders let your sitting bones become heavier.
And as you continue to breathe,
Feel your shoulders softening.
And your jaw loosening.
Now your tongue is resting comfortably in your mouth.
Soften your face.
Soften your skin.
Feel yourself becoming wonderfully unhurried.
With every breath in.
And out you're moving closer and closer towards yourself.
You can even take your hands to yourself,
Your heart.
No belly.
Or maybe both hands gently resting on your upper arms.
And begin to notice with kindness and curiosity the places where you have been pulled away from yourself.
Notice if you've been replaying conversations.
Have you been rehearsing explanations?
Is there a pain,
A longing,
An ache of wishing someone had simply seen you and understood?
Be so kind to these very natural feelings without trying to fix anything.
Nothing is wrong here.
Just notice how much energy is remaining there.
Now feel your breath.
Bringing you deeper toward yourself.
You might sense or visualize your own energy field.
So not just your physical body,
But a field of energy that protects your physical body.
And how some of that energy field has been drawn away from you and is sitting inside another person's opinion.
Every imagined conversation,
Every defence.
Every explanation you can see is a stream of light that's left your energy.
And is moving towards someone else's opinion.
Visualize now.
These streams of light gently returning.
As you breathe here feeling the light leaving the other person's opinion and coming back to where it belongs to you,
Your body,
Your bright energy field not because anything's changed with the other person.
Because your energy can be called back.
It knows its way home.
You might feel it as a warmth that's settling behind your eyes as it returns there.
That's gently pouring into your throat.
And your heart.
And into your belly.
This light warm energy returning into your hips and legs.
All the way into your feet,
Coming back to you,
Back to you.
Where it belongs.
As though every breath brings every thread back helping you occupy another room.
In the home of your body.
And as this is happening,
You might still have a sense of other people's opinions kind of murmuring at the edges of your attention.
Imagine them like a mist.
A little bit of a mist still creeping around you.
No need to fight it.
No need to analyse it.
Sense or visualize a soft breeze beginning to move.
And clear the mist.
A soft breeze simply clearing the air.
Leaving only what is yours.
Give yourself time.
Quietly repeat or let these words Go deep into your body with each breath I know who I am.
I know my heart.
I know my intentions.
I can continue.
I can continue to grow and learn and enjoy life just as I am.
I do not need to earn the right to belong to myself.
I simply do.
Feel yourself on solid earth.
If your feet are on the ground press them down into that ground.
Feel the points of you that are connecting to the support you may be on.
Really rooting.
Anchoring.
On solid earth.
Your breath slowing.
Your energy field brightening.
And sense your spine long,
Supported.
Your chest open.
Your ribcage light floating with each breath.
Quietly upright.
Not rigid.
Your body is simply remembering itself.
As you prepare to move from this meditation.
Can you make peace?
With the fact that the world still contains misunderstanding.
Part of the complexity and messiness of life.
But it also contains so much understanding or desire to understand.
Remembering you have people in your life who see you.
Who want to see you and know more about you.
Inside you now.
There is clarity.
Because you can leave other people's stories with them,
Especially the ones that don't fit.
And you can carry your own truth.
And feel safe.
And feel grounded.
And feel glad to be you.
Take three more breaths here my friend.
And then with the next breath send a smile into your dear precious being.
And then when you're ready Wish yourself well.
Thank yourself for giving yourself this important time.
And step more positively into your next moment.
Until next time.
Bye for now.
