Hello my friend,
I'm Alison and I know you've just woken up and been shaken up by a nightmare and I want you to know first off that whatever your mind is telling you.
Whatever images or feelings are lingering from sleep.
You're safe.
Nothing bad is happening or going to happen.
I know it may not feel that way in this moment.
It takes a while for fear to come down in our body and it can feel overpowering.
It's only a passing storm and storms always pass.
And you,
My friend.
Of the whole sky.
So you're not alone in this storm.
Let's be together here now just for a moment or two.
No need to do anything or change anything Just feeling each new moment unfolding.
And if you like.
Feel the air entering your body when you breathe in.
And when you breathe out how it leaves softly like a sigh.
And maybe slowly.
Gently slowing down and steadying that breathing in.
And breathing out but don't worry too much about it,
Only if that helps.
There's nothing to fix.
And your breath is always arriving and leaving in its own way like a tide returning home there's really nothing to worry about here.
And if your body still feels tense.
That's okay.
Can you let that be okay?
It's not going to last.
Nothing bad is happening or is going to happen because of one bad dream.
Everyone has bad dreams and they don't have to mean anything except maybe there's been some stress.
There's some residual stress in your body from long ago.
This is the way your body has of working that out.
So if there is still some tension in you in your body maybe we can check in with kindness.
Can you kindly ask your jaw if it can soften?
Or if your hands want to loosen or your shoulders drop away from your ears just a little.
And if not that's okay too.
Your body is coming down from fear in its own time and it has its own wisdom around that and you're doing nothing wrong.
There's nothing you can get wrong,
Alright?
You are safe.
And you in love.
And you are here.
And if your thoughts are racing,
If fear is still holding on,
Just let it be.
Really doesn't need to go away.
But let my voice stay with you Maybe let my voice be an anchor to this moment.
And to the truth of now,
Because right now,
My friend,
You are safe.
All is well.
Right in this moment,
Nothing is chasing you.
Nothing at all is expected of you.
In this very moment.
There's no need for you to be on any guard or watch.
There's nothing you need to do.
Except.
Know that you're resting,
You're still resting here.
And the night is holding you.
And the bed underneath you is holding you.
You're allowed to let go.
And there is peace.
Peace and longness to you.
And it's never left.
It's here in this moment.
Even if you are not feeling that completely,
There is peace.
Peace that belongs to you and invites you in.
Peace that loves you and cares for you and also knows and tells you that nothing is wrong You are safe.
All is well.
And if sleep doesn't return right away,
That's perfectly okay.
My voice will stay with you.
These words will repeat softly,
Lulling you back into rest.
For a while.
Don't have to listen closely,
Just let them drift around you.
Just for some moments.
Like waves lapping at the shore.
You are safe.
You are held.
You're not alone.
You are loved.
Nothing is wrong.
The knight is kind.
Sleep is waiting for you.
You are safe.
You are safe You are safe.
You are safe.
Nothing is wrong.
Everything's okay.
You can rest.
All is well.
Pieces here.
The night is kind.
Lekker!
