This course is a combination of lecture and experiential learning activities. By the end of this course, students will: 1) know what mindfulness is and is not, 2) understand the benefits of mindfulness, and 3) experience a variety of mindfulness techniques.


Meet your Teacher

Dr. Fullchange is a Taiwanese-American, multilingual, licensed psychologist, Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and nationally recognized public speaker. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling, Clinical & School Psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara through a prestigious Doctoral Scholars Fellowship award. She has published book chapters, written articles, and presented on mindfulness, social-emotional health, trauma, burnout, empathy, resilience, race and anti-racism, and identity at the crossroads of mental health and education.

This brief talk on mindfulness will help you understand what mindfulness is and is not, the benefits to practicing mindfulness, the science behind mindfulness, and how to integrate mindfulness into your daily life so you can receive its benefits too. You don’t need any background in mindfulness. In fact, knowing nothing about mindfulness is a great place to start!

A Concentration Mindfulness Practice

In this 8-minute lesson, you’ll learn about concentration mindfulness practices and then I’ll invite you to try a brief concentration mindfulness practice that focuses on something you always have access to – your breath. You don’t need anything other than a private space to try the practice.
