Find a comfortable position to sit in.

Put your feet flat on the floor if that feels comfortable for you.

I invite you to close your eyes too if that feels alright.

Now I want you to imagine the most peaceful,

Relaxing,

Calming place that you can think of.

It doesn't have to be a place that you've been to,

It can be a place that you invent.

Let's call this place your calm place.

Maybe it's by the beach,

Or a forest,

Or a lake.

Maybe it's a room in your home or a place you vacationed.

Maybe it's a cabin that you create in your mind.

Wherever it is,

Take a few moments to imagine yourself being there,

Right now,

In this moment.

Give yourself permission to feel totally relaxed and completely calm here.

There are no worries here,

All your needs are met.

What do you see as you look around your calm place?

What are the colors?

Is it bright or dim?

Is there nature around or are there animals?

Is there a place for you to sit or lay down?

What are the sounds you hear?

Is it quiet or are there some sounds like maybe a babbling brook,

A crackling fireplace,

Ocean waves,

Or perhaps there's just silence?

Who is with you here in your calm place?

Maybe there's no one and you are completely at peace just by yourself looking out on everything.

Or maybe you have someone with you,

A person,

A pet.

Allow the fact that there is someone with you or that there is no one with you to help you feel even more safe,

Even more calm,

And totally at peace.

Now notice what you're doing in your calm place.

Maybe you're standing,

Looking at the scenery,

Or maybe you're laying down,

Perhaps you're seated in a comfortable cushy chair.

Wherever you are,

Feel what it's like to be right here.

Feel the sensations you have here.

Are you outdoors and maybe you can feel the sun warming your cheeks,

Or maybe a breeze across your skin.

Maybe you're indoors and you feel comfortable and warm,

Cozy,

And snuggled.

What does your body feel like here in your calm place?

Do your feet feel grounded or light?

Can you allow your palms to open in this relaxing place?

Can you invite your shoulders to drop and your jaw to relax?

Can you notice any tension in your neck just melting away?

Notice the calm in your body and see if you can allow everything in your body and your mind to relax.

There's no tension necessary anywhere because you are in the most calming place that you could possibly find.

Now,

Notice your thoughts.

Whatever thoughts you might have,

Let them to almost immediately disappear and float off because there's nothing to worry about here.

There's nothing but calm,

Peacefulness,

And just keep noticing that you can allow any thoughts that arise to simply float away and allow deep relaxation to come.

I'm going to invite you to open your eyes if they were closed in just a few moments.

So take a look around this special calm place,

Just taking it all in,

Noticing what you see,

Noticing what you hear,

Noticing what you feel in your body,

Knowing that you can come back here whenever you want to.

This is your calm place.

Then taking your time,

Whenever you're ready,

Maybe slowly opening your eyes if they were closed and taking a look around where you are now.
