In this journey,

I'll guide you through a quiet woodland at twilight,

Where the day is softening into the evening,

And you'll wander along a forest path,

Pausing with the stream,

And eventually you'll discover a small building nestled among the trees,

Where you'll be wrapped in the light above you.

I'm settling in now,

And knowing there's no need to try too hard.

You don't have to do everything perfectly.

Follow my voice,

And if your mind wanders,

That's natural,

Just notice,

And bring your awareness back to my words.

Find a comfortable position now,

And allow your body to be fully supported by the earth beneath you.

And when you're ready,

Gently close your eyes,

And inhale,

And exhale slowly.

As you inhale,

Allow the belly to expand slightly,

And as you exhale,

Letting go,

As though releasing a sigh of relief.

Breathing in calm,

And out ease.

We're going to mix the breath up slightly now.

I'll invite you to breathe in through your mouth,

With your lips slightly parted,

Then out through the nose.

As you breathe in,

Allow the abdomen to press upwards,

As though welcoming the breath in.

Slowly exhale through the nose,

Drawing the abdomen back.

Each breath in through the mouth,

The belly fills.

Each breath out through the nose,

Softening back.

And then allow your breath to return to its usual pace.

Imagine now you're entering a woodland.

It is late in the day,

And the sun is beginning to set.

The sky is brushed with soft golds,

And gentle pinks.

A sign that the evening is slowly approaching.

Perhaps you're here by yourself,

Enjoying the quiet solitude.

Or maybe a trusted friend walks beside you,

Their presence adding to your sense of comfort and ease.

Whether alone or accompanied,

You feel safe and supported,

As you step into this peaceful woodland.

The air is cool and fresh,

And a soft path stretches ahead,

Scattered with fallen leaves.

Above you,

The sun lowers further,

Casting a warm light through the branches,

And painting the treetops in shades of orange and gold.

And breathe in,

Taking in the golden glow.

And breathe out,

Letting that glow soften your body and your mind.

In,

Absorbing the golden glow.

And exhale,

Allowing that glow to soften your body and your mind.

As you begin your walk along this path,

Each step that you take,

Grinds you more deeply,

Into stillness.

Breath in,

And away.

In,

And away.

As you walk along the path,

Notice the sounds around you.

Perhaps you can hear some birds,

And the gentle movement of the leaves in the tree.

Perhaps you're walking alone,

Or perhaps you're with a friend,

And the path you're on begins to lead you to a small wooden footprint.

The sun begins its slow descent down,

And casts warm hues of orange and gold on the woodland floor.

The treetops glow in soft light,

And the forest floor is dappled with shifting shadows.

You inhale and breathe in the golden glow.

And as you exhale,

You allow that warmth to soften the body and the mind.

Inhale,

Breathing in the golden glow.

And exhale,

Letting the warmth soften your body,

And your mind.

As you walk across the small wooden footbridge,

That crosses a clear stream.

As you look down from the footbridge,

You see the water glistening in the fading light.

And you pause here,

And listen to the trickling of the water,

As it flows smoothly over stones beneath you.

Inhale deeply,

And exhale slowly.

It's as if the water carries a warm scent,

Or tension.

Leaving you lighter,

Softer,

Calmer.

As you continue your journey along this peaceful path,

You notice wildflowers,

Soft yellows,

Purples,

And white.

And you pause to notice the delicate shapes,

And the faint sweetness of their scent.

You notice a bee drifting lazily from flower to flower.

It's hum blending with the quiet song of the woodland.

You breathe deeply,

And allow this gentle beauty to fill your being with warmth and rest.

Up ahead,

The path curves again.

And the forest around you grows quieter and quieter.

The sun is beginning to set.

You feel grounded and connected to nature here.

You feel your feet sinking into the earth with each step.

As though the woodland floor is holding you.

Up ahead,

You notice a small welcoming building,

Which is nestled among the trees.

Its doorway almost glows,

Inviting you in.

There's a note on the door.

Everyone welcome.

Please come inside.

You open the door,

And step inside.

It's a peaceful space here.

Warm and cozy.

And the walls seem to radiate calm,

Holding you safely,

As though nothing from the outside world can disturb you now.

You take a breath in,

And,

And away.

Breathing in,

You find a soft place to rest.

Perhaps it's a chair,

A cushion,

A comfortable bed waiting just for you.

And as you lower yourself down,

The surface molds gently into your shape,

Supporting you fully.

Your body loosens,

And the weight of your shoulders sink down into the surface.

And your legs and arms grow heavy and warm.

Perhaps here you take some sighing breaths in,

And out.

Releasing into this rest,

Slowly your gaze drifts upwards,

And above you a wide skylight opens up.

The edges of twilight are fading,

Giving way to the night sky.

You notice a few stars appearing,

Sharp and clear,

Against the darkening sky.

They look almost like tiny lanterns,

Flickering just for you.

You take a breath in,

And away.

Breath in,

And away.

The moon rises slowly,

Glowing like a pearl,

And casting silver light that spills through the skylight above you.

Your whole being softens.

The moonlight,

Moonlight from up above,

Shines down upon you.

It touches your skin like a soft caress,

Spreading warm through your chest,

Throughout the whole of your body.

And this light takes away any pains you are experiencing.

Any aches,

Any discomfort.

Releasing.

The sky above you feels endless,

And you might imagine that each star is a gentle guide watching over you.

And the moonlight feels like a blanket,

Wrapping you softly in safety and care.

Here,

In this space,

There is nothing you need to do.

Nowhere you need to be.

Just resting,

Breathing,

Allowing.

Welcome this rest.

Body you comfortable.

Knowing that it doesn't matter if the mind wanders,

All that matters is your own relaxation.

Drifting deeper and deeper down.

Feeling more and more comfortable,

And more and more relaxed.

And as you drift,

Listening to the sound of my voice,

Each word I speak allows you to continue to drift down deeper and deeper into relaxation.

Concentrating on my voice,

Each word,

Each sound.

Relaxing you even deeper.

Than before.

Feeling heavy,

Tired,

Relaxed.

Breathing in,

And away.

Body sinking down.

Feeling heavier and heavier.

Breath in.

If you wish,

You might set a quiet intention to allow yourself to let go.

And to welcome deep rest.

The stars are shimmering gently above you.

The moon continues to glow.

Each breath carries you deeper,

Softer,

Quieter.

Feeling supported and held.
