Welcome.
Take a moment to arrive here.
There is nothing you need to do.
Just gently allow your body to settle.
Find your comfy space,
Warm and cozy,
And gently close your eyes.
Just begin by noticing your breath.
Simply observe the natural rhythm.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Just let the day begin to soften.
Let your body soften.
So I'm sharing a gentle Taoist story.
A man once went to a skilled horse trainer in search of a strong and reliable horse.
He expected to be shown something impressive,
Something beautiful,
Something that stood out immediately.
But instead,
The trainer pointed to a horse that looked quite ordinary.
Its coat was uneven,
Its posture slightly awkward,
And there was nothing about it that seemed remarkable.
So the man frowned and said,
That one?
He asked.
It doesn't look like much at all.
And the trainer,
He smiled softly.
This horse has strength that you cannot yet see.
So the man hesitated,
But something in the trainer's calm presence made him pause.
And so he decided to trust him.
He took the horse home.
In the beginning,
The horse seemed exactly as he had feared.
Unremarkable,
A little clumsy,
Nothing special.
But over time,
Something began to reveal itself.
With patience,
With care,
With gentle attention,
The horse began to show its quiet strength.
It was steady,
Reliable,
And deeply loyal.
It did not startle easily.
It did not resist.
It simply remained present,
Grounded,
And calm.
And the man began to see this horse was far more valuable than the others.
And one day he returned to the trainer and said,
I almost overlooked something truly special,
Simply because of how it appeared.
The trainer,
He nodded gently.
Many things in life are like this.
And perhaps there are parts of you that feel a little like that horse.
Quiet,
Unseen,
Not immediately recognized.
Parts of you that may not feel impressive or polished or enough in some way.
And yet beneath the surface,
There is a quiet strength,
A steadiness,
A resilience,
A depth that doesn't need to shout or prove itself.
Just like the horse.
Because not everything valuable reveals itself right away.
And not everything that is strong looks strong on the surface.
So,
Let's just stay here for a moment.
Gently soften any expectations that you hold about yourself.
Maybe it's letting go of the need to be different or better or more.
And simply allow yourself just to be as you are.
Now,
Slowly bring your awareness back to your breath.
Soft,
Natural breathing.
Breathe in.
And as you breathe out,
Allow your body to soften a little more.
Let your shoulders drop,
Your jaw soften,
All your facial muscles relax.
Inhale.
And with each exhale,
Release any quiet pressure to be anything other than you are.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
And just gently imagine a calm,
Steady presence within you.
It's not loud,
Not demanding,
But quietly strong,
Like deep roots beneath the surface.
Stable,
Supportive,
Always there.
And as you rest here,
Allow yourself to sense that there is nothing missing,
Nothing lacking.
But maybe just parts of you that are waiting to be seen with kindness,
With love,
With gratitude.
So,
Let's soften even more.
We breathe,
We allow,
Resting in this quiet awareness.
And let's just stay here for a few moments,
Feeling into your strengths,
Feeling into your heart,
Feeling into this moment,
Just as you are.
Now,
When you're ready,
Just gently bring awareness back to your body.
The space around you.
Just notice how you feel now.
You're just slowly returning,
No need to rush.
Take a moment.
Roll your shoulders,
If that feels good,
And give yourself a gentle stretch.
As you move into the rest of your day or evening,
Carry this with you,
That not everything valuable is immediately visible,
And that quiet strength is already within you.
So,
Thank you so much for sharing this time with me.
Namaste,
My friend.
