Welcome to Stay With This Moment.
I'm so glad you're here.
So often,
When things feel uncomfortable,
The mind wants to move away to distract,
To solve,
To escape.
But there is a quiet wisdom in staying.
It's a gentle strength in allowing yourself to be here,
Just as you are.
So for the next few minutes,
Let this be a space where nothing is required of you.
There is no effort,
No pressure.
It's just staying softly with this moment.
So just begin by noticing your body,
The places where you are supported,
The feeling of the ground beneath you or the chair holding you.
And gently soften your neck and shoulders.
Let them drop.
Soften your chest,
Creating space around your heart.
Relax your jaw,
Your belly,
Your hands.
There is nothing to hold right now.
It's less effort and more allowing.
So,
Settle into your comfy space,
Warm and cozy,
And now gently close your eyes.
Let your breath begin to slow naturally.
No need to control it,
Just a gentle rhythm.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Letting go.
Breathe in and quietly say to yourself,
Stay and breathing out here.
Breathe in,
Stay.
Breathe out,
Here.
Continue in your own time for a few more breaths.
And you don't need to leave this moment.
You can just stay right here,
Gently.
And once more,
Breathe in,
Stay,
And breathe out,
Here.
Good.
And just resume your natural breathing pattern now.
Just staying with this moment.
Now you see yourself sitting beside a slow flowing river.
The water is moving steadily.
It's not rushing,
Not forcing,
Just flowing.
Now in the middle of this river,
There is a smooth,
Steady stone.
It's a stone that is strong,
Grounded,
And moving.
And this stone doesn't resist the water.
It does not try to stop the current,
But it simply remains.
And the water flows around it,
Softly,
Consciously.
Now just see that you are this stone.
Thoughts may move.
Feelings may come and go.
Sensations may shift.
But you remain steady,
Present,
Here,
Right in this moment.
And you don't need to follow every thought downstream.
You don't need to push anything away.
But just stay,
Just like the stone in the river.
Let everything else flow around you.
The river is now expanding.
It's becoming a wider,
Slow-moving river.
The air is calm here,
And there is a quiet stillness all around you.
You can hear the soft sound of water moving steady,
Continuous.
It's like a gentle breath of the earth itself.
You just take a moment here.
You notice the light,
The colors,
The feeling of being held in this peaceful place.
Now as you sit by this river,
You begin to notice something in the water.
You see another smooth stone that is resting right in the middle of the river.
And the water is flowing around it.
It is effortless,
Natural.
It does not struggle.
It simply moves.
And this stone remains.
It is unmoved,
Grounded,
And at ease within the flow of this beautiful river.
You gently bring yourself closer until you can feel what it is like to be that stone.
It's not rigid,
Not tense,
But deeply settled.
And it is supported by the riverbed beneath you.
It is held in place without effort.
The water,
It continues to move around you.
And it's just like your thoughts,
Like your emotions.
Some pass quickly,
Barely noticed.
But others can feel stronger,
Swirling for a moment before continuing on.
But you do not need to follow them.
You do not need to chase or resist.
You just simply remain.
Notice how the water is touching the stone.
It's flowing over it,
Around it,
Without disturbing its presence.
And in the same way,
Thoughts can move through your awareness without pulling you away.
Feelings can arise without needing to be pushed away.
You are not the current.
You are the presence beneath it.
And as you stay here,
You begin to notice something subtle.
The longer the stone remains,
The smoother it becomes.
Not through effort,
But through allowing,
Through time,
And through just simply being.
And so here in this very moment,
You don't need to change anything.
You don't need to become calmer.
You can just stay and let everything else just flow.
You are resting in the moment.
And breathe into that stillness.
Breathe into that calm.
Breathe into the moment.
If something feels uncomfortable,
Just let it move like the water.
If your mind begins to wander,
Just notice it and just let it pass.
And gently return to being the stone.
This moment.
Steady.
Present.
Here.
Wonderful.
Now just feel your breath again,
Like the rhythm of the river.
In and out.
And just let it flow without force.
Gently flowing in.
Gently flowing out.
And as you rest here,
You begin to feel a sense of quiet strength within you.
It's a stillness that has always been here,
Untouched by the movement around it.
Just stay here for a few more breaths,
Just letting the river flow and allow yourself to remain in this very moment.
Slow and steady.
Feel your gentle presence.
Feel your being.
Good.
Now just resume your natural breathing presence.
And feel into your body again.
Your breath.
Your weight.
Your stillness.
This moment is not something you need to escape.
It is something you can rest inside.
Even now.
Even here.
There is space.
There is awareness.
There is something within you that is already calm.
And as Lao Tzu once said,
Nature does not hurry,
Yet everything is accomplished.
Just feel into those words.
There is no need to rush away from this moment.
And gently repeat silently or out loud to yourself,
I can stay with this moment just as I am.
And once more,
I can stay with this moment just as I am.
And just breathe those words deep into your heart.
Into your being.
In this moment.
Being here right now.
Good.
So as you sit here,
Notice that staying does not mean being stuck.
But it means allowing.
It means trusting that this moment,
Like the river,
Will continue to move.
And here you are simply present in this moment.
And each time your mind begins to wander or pull you away,
Become distracted,
You can gently return.
Not by force,
But by softening.
By breathing.
By staying right here in this very moment.
Deep breath.
Take one more slow breath in.
And release and let go.
And know that you can come back to this again and again.
Back to this moment whenever you need.
Namaste,
My friend.
