Welcome to Release the Beast.
Meditation to help ourselves rid ourselves of negative emotions.
Let's begin by sitting up nice and straight with a level head relaxed jaw.
Taking a nice full deep breath in.
Then a nice complete exhale pulling the belly button towards the spine.
Then continuing to breathe deeply and exhaling completely throughout our practice today.
To start I'd like you to think of a negative emotion that you'd like to release,
That you'd like to get rid of,
That you'd like to take its power away from you.
It could be anger,
Impatience,
Maybe some type of fear or anxiety and get an idea of what that emotion is and place it in your third eye between the brow point of your eyes.
And once you have a nice clear idea of what that emotion is,
I'd like you to start to picture that emotion as some type of ferocious beast.
It could be a wild boar,
A bear,
Maybe a bull.
But picture that animal in your mind and as you're breathing deeply hold that animal in your mind.
And imagine that you're standing along the railing of a fence that encloses a giant field.
A field filled with nice green grass,
Wonderful beautiful flowers,
Rolling hills.
And take that ferocious animal and release it into the open field.
And really let it just have its day with all of its energy,
All of its snorting,
Maybe its grinding its hoof or its horn into the ground,
And allow the animal to release into the field running wildly.
As we breathe nice and deep continue to let the animal have its day.
Keep the energy up.
Keep the animals energy of movements going.
Don't let up,
Keep breathing.
And now take a nice deep breath in and notice the animal.
Starting to look around.
Still energetic,
It may still have a trap in its step.
Running up against the different fence posts,
Taking a look at its surroundings,
But no longer filled with energy and emotion.
Just noticing where it's at.
And take your breath as you're breathing deeply and start matching it with the animal's breath.
Helping the animal breathe more deeply,
More steadily,
Creating calm in that beast,
That emotional beast you've imagined.
Just breathe in sync with the animal,
Allowing the animal and the emotions energy to dissipate,
To evaporate.
And now take another look at the animal and see that its head is down and it's munching on some of the nice green grass and that big open field.
Maybe it's eating some of the flowers.
Really not paying attention to you anymore.
At peace with itself,
At peace with you,
At peace with its surroundings.
Its energy gone,
Its ferociousness gone.
Content with the openness that is achieved in the field.
And as you continue to breathe deeply,
Imagine your hands on the ranch gate,
Slowly closing the gate,
Latching the gate,
Looking at the animal one more time.
And then with a smile on your face,
Taking a deep breath,
Turning around,
And walking away from that emotion,
Releasing it,
Setting it free,
Giving it the space it needs without having to attach to it,
Hold on to it,
Or react to it.
With one more deep breath,
Be well my friends.
