Welcome to the meditation before travel.
Meditation you can use if you have any anxiety about traveling,
Flying,
Getting through airports.
So let's sit up straight,
Nice straight spine,
Relax the face and jaw,
Start breathing deeply,
A three second inhale in,
A five second exhale out.
So let's take a trip in our minds.
Let's take our trip.
We're all packed,
We have everything we need.
Making our way to the airport.
We arrive at the airport.
For example,
Parking and we make our way to the ticket counter and there's the ticket agent.
They smile at us and we smile at them.
Everything works out okay with the ticket agent.
We get our boarding pass and we check our bags and make our way to the security line.
There's a little line but we just keep breathing deeply,
Exhaling completely.
We're in no rush,
We have more than enough time.
We get to the security line.
There's no anxiety about the process.
As we put our stuff in the bins and take out our computer and liquids,
We're not worried about whether we're doing it right or not.
Because the security officers are professional and helpful.
We're not worried about who's behind us or who's ahead of us because we're in our own present moment doing what we need to do without anxiety,
Without worry,
Without fear.
Most of all we're remembering to breathe in and out.
Nice big inhales,
Nice big exhales.
We go through security and we gather all of our belongings.
We make our way to the gate.
Continuing our nice deep inhale and exhales.
As we board we see the flight attendant who smiles and greets us warmly and we smile back at them.
We turn our head to the left as we enter the plane.
We can see the pilot and co-pilot already in their seats,
Confident and secure in what they need to do today.
We make our way to our seats and our carry-on fits perfectly into the bib.
We sit down and put on our seatbelt continuing to breathe deeply,
Inhaling and exhaling thoroughly.
And as everyone completes boarding the plane we have the realization that I'm surrounded by a group of professionals who know what they're doing and my job is just to sit back and relax and enjoy this time with no cell phones,
No phone calls.
Maybe I can use this as a time just to meditate.
And now they close the door and the flight's about to begin.
We pay attention to the safety instructions,
Although they're rarely ever used.
Breathing deeply.
As the plane starts to move down the runway we have a realization.
We are at peace.
We're at one with our breath.
There is no anxiety or worry.
As the plane lifts off we lift off ourselves.
You do a wonderful place in our own consciousness filled with grace,
Love,
And compassion.
For ourselves and all our other fellow travelers around us today.
As we continue our journey continue to breathe.
Saddam!
