I'm Cyrus.
Welcome to this short meditation session for taking a midday break.
Let's get you feeling relaxed,
Fresher,
And even more focused than taking a nap,
And send you off with a clean,
Crisp rhythm for the rest of your day.
Start by putting your phone on Do Not Disturb,
Eliminating any potential distractions,
Sitting upright or lying down in a comfortable position,
And keeping your eyes closed or open on a spot in front of you,
Whatever feels intuitive to you right now.
Take a deep,
Invigorating breath in through your nose,
Filling up your lungs with fresh oxygen,
And releasing,
Letting go of stress and tension on the exhale.
Let's do two more like that,
But make them breath holds,
In through the nose,
Nice and deep,
Holding at the top,
And feeling the energy in your body as you hold for a moment.
And now slowly releasing,
Letting the air out of the balloon.
Perfect.
One more like that,
Super deep,
Fill the whole body with the breath as you breath in this time.
And holding at the top,
Feeling the body and the room around you as you hold,
Body and room.
And now release the breath slowly but powerfully,
Letting some tension dissolve as you do.
And now settle into a physical position that feels comfortable that you can sustain,
And take a moment now to commit decisively to physical stillness in your mind.
And now release and relax into that physical stillness,
Let any tension or edges dissolve a little further.
Take a moment to feel your tongue,
And allow your tongue to gently rest on the floor of your mouth.
And now drop the attention down into the heart,
Imagining the mind and thoughts dropping and dissolving into the heart area.
And now notice the rhythm of your heartbeat,
Maybe it's subtle or very noticeable,
But just stay tuned in and feel your heartbeat.
And fan your attention out slightly,
Feel the inner wings of your lungs expanding and contracting with the breath as it flows to you effortlessly.
Imagine that breath falling down in towards the legs,
Feel the breath drop in through the legs and feel the flow of energy,
The internal tingles and vibrations as you feel that breath cascading down through the legs like a waterfall.
Feeling that energy start to pool at the bottom of the waterfall as you feel the feet electromagnetically flowing with life energy.
Not thinking,
But just feeling the details and blood flow in the feet.
And now imagine like you're passing an energy yo-yo up into the hands without moving,
Just feeling your mind passing that buck up into the fingers and fingertips,
Dancing with electricity as you move your mind in this rhythmic fashion.
These balls of energy in the hands becoming more energized as you slowly start to guide them up the arms like an electrical current flowing in reverse,
Defying gravity and landing near your shoulders and neck.
Feel the breath flow down the body releasing any physical tension you're holding in your muscles.
Don't try to do the relaxation,
Simply allow the relaxation to occur as the breath drops down and the mind stays sharp and awake.
And as we travel up further guiding the attention up through the top of the head,
Centering your attention on the energy that you feel near the top of your head,
As though the brain itself is tingling and recharging its batteries.
And gently feeling the attention expand down towards the ears and becoming aware of the sounds that are flowing in through the ears,
Allowing the details of these sounds to start to be received,
Surprising you with their subtlety and spontaneity.
And if there's anything that's happened today so far that would serve you to let go of,
Take a few moments now to acknowledge the thoughts and feelings,
To allow them to flow through and then to let go of them simply as a decision.
Now taking a deep breath if you wish and allowing the exhalation to release anything that's no longer serving you,
To completely choose to let go as much as you feel able to in this moment.
And now take a moment to decide the exact energy that you want to embody for the rest of your day.
See and feel yourself embodying this energy right now in this moment.
And from this energy that you're allowing yourself to feel now,
See and feel yourself doing whatever it is that you want to do in exactly the way you want to do it for the rest of your day.
Envisioning and feeling yourself embracing challenges,
Going with the flow and fully enjoying the moments.
And finally seeing and feeling yourself doing one thing at a time for the rest of your day,
Enjoying and focused on the details that are right in front of you.
Committing to that practice of focusing on one thing at a time for the rest of your day if you so choose to right now.
And when you feel ready at your own pace,
Opening your eyes if they were closed,
Beginning to slowly move your body and feel that fresh,
Positive,
Focused energy that you've cultivated,
Bringing it forward with you consciously,
Allowing yourself to set that new rhythm and enjoy every second of it.
