A warm welcome to you.
My name is Fleur Chambers and as always it's my pleasure to be here with you today.
May this practice allow you to connect with your body and the deep wisdom it holds for you.
As always,
Settling in,
Allowing your eyes to gently close if it pleases you.
And beginning your practice with the ritual that is three deep and intentional breaths.
The power of this simple act never ceases to amaze me.
How our loyal breath is always here for us,
Ready to alter our physiology.
To send a message to our nervous system that we are ready to come down from our busy thinking minds into the fullness of our bodies and the intelligence they hold.
Allowing your focus to land on the steady rise and fall of your chest.
Noticing also the gentle expansion and contraction of your belly as you breathe.
Noticing also the gentle expansion and contraction of your belly as you breathe.
Noticing how your body knows exactly how to breathe.
No effort,
No striving required.
Allowing this simple fact to comfort you.
Your body knows exactly how to breathe.
Now taking a moment to rub your hands together.
Really noticing the sound this generates.
Really feeling the warmth and energy that is building within your hands.
And in your own time,
Placing these hands somewhere on your body.
In your own time,
Placing these hands somewhere on your body that feels good for you.
Trusting yourself here that you know exactly where your hands want to go.
Really feeling into how the warmth and energy within your hands is greeting your body.
Really feeling into how the warmth and energy within your hands is greeting your body.
Feeling it at the level of your skin.
Then imagining this energy travelling beyond your skin,
Deep into your muscles,
Bones,
Organs and blood.
Every cell in your body receiving the warmth and energy contained within your hands.
Long smooth inhale,
Long smooth exhale.
Repeating these words silently in your mind.
I am safe in my body.
I am safe in my body.
And noticing how this feels for you.
Perhaps there's a sense of relief as you reconnect with your body.
A softening or a feeling of coming home.
Maybe there's resistance or a level of discomfort.
No right or wrong here,
Remaining open and curious.
You may like to place your hands in your lap or anywhere that feels natural for you.
You may like to place your hands in your lap or anywhere that feels natural for you.
As you invite the energy of gratitude into your practice today.
As you open to the many ways your body supports you.
This body that takes you where you want to go.
These eyes that offer you the gift of sunsets,
Flowers in bloom,
Faces of those you love.
These ears that let you hear laughter,
Music and the song of birds.
This mouth that allows you to communicate,
To connect deeply with family and friends.
These arms and hands that hold,
Feel and express.
These organs,
Muscles,
Tissues,
Ligaments and bones all supporting you each and every day.
Every cell regenerating,
Healing even whilst you sleep.
As you rest your awareness on the many ways your miraculous body supports you.
Can you offer this vessel of yours a few deep and grateful breaths?
Each breath acting like a calming balm,
Allowing your body to soften,
To open.
Here from this open state you are ready to communicate with your body more deeply,
To hear its wisdom.
Beginning by scanning your body for any places of tension,
Any dull aches or pains,
Any pockets of stiffness or density.
These sensations may feel strong or subtle.
They may be familiar or new.
Really offering these places your soothing breath.
And asking your body if these aches or pains could speak,
If these pockets of tension or density had words,
What would they say to me?
Opening to words,
Sensation,
Images or a knowing.
Your job is to trust in what you hear.
Really opening to the message these parts of you have to share.
Breathing deep into this moment of connection between you and your physical body.
Scanning your body once more,
But this time for places that you habitually judge or criticise.
Perhaps parts of you that don't look or work like they used to.
Parts of you that offer pain,
Discomfort,
Sadness or even shame.
And in a radical act of connection,
Really offering these places your loving breath.
Each breath whispering to these parts of you that you are sorry for being critical of them,
For seeing them through the lenses of judgement or lack.
Each breath soothing,
Healing your physical body.
And asking your precious body what would you have me know?
Precious body,
What would you have me know?
Trusting what you hear,
Believing what you feel.
Listening with all your senses.
Allowing the natural ebb and flow of your breath,
The steady beating of your heart to guide you deeper into the wisdom of your body.
This body that lives only in the present moment.
This body that never lies.
That illuminates what is real and true for you.
As you ask your body,
What do you want to let go?
And you trust in this moment.
You allow the power of your out breath to facilitate this feeling of letting go.
And you ask your body,
What do you want to experience more of?
Using your in breath as a gesture of welcoming in.
And finally,
In the strongest act of union,
You ask your body,
What do you need in order to feel more supported?
Body,
How can I help you?
Listening.
Opening.
Receiving the wisdom of this moment.
Allowing this moment of deep connection to be a recalibration.
A softening of the resistance you often direct towards your body and instead a welcoming in of the energy of connection and appreciation.
And finally,
In the strongest act of union,
You ask your body,
What do you want to experience more of?
Repeating silently in your mind.
When I am safe in my body,
I am safe in the world.
When I am safe in my body,
I am safe in the world.
Offering your body and this practice a smile.
Feeling into your fingers and toes.
Returning your awareness to the space you are in.
May you move through your day with a willingness to listen to the wisdom held in your body.
