Across broader meditation research, the practice family Light Body Meditation belongs to is consistently linked with lower anxiety, stress, and depression, while the technique itself has not been tested in any trial. A meta-analysis of 19 randomized trials found meditation and yoga reduced anxiety with a moderate-to-large effect (Cohen's d = 0.71 versus control conditions), meaning the average participant ended up less anxious than roughly three-quarters of those who did not practice, though this was measured in people living with HIV rather than in this technique (Taiyi et al., 2021). A small study of office workers showed that 15 minutes of guided meditation was enough to bring on a relaxation response (Melville et al., 2012). The limits are worth naming, since the strongest numbers come from other populations and practices, and some measures, such as telomere length, did not change significantly (Thakur et al., 2023).

Impact of Heartfulness meditation practice on anxiety, perceived stress, well-being, and telomere length
