Transforming your relationship to grief.

Welcome to this healing journey where we will explore and transform your relationship with grief.

Get comfortable.

Close your eyes and go within yourself by taking long,

Slow,

Deep breaths.

Allow yourself to fully arrive in this moment,

Ready to embrace the depth of your emotions.

Grief is one of the most profound and painful emotions we can experience.

It feels as if your heart has splintered into a million pieces,

As if the weight of sorrow might pull you under.

In the midst of grief,

It can feel like you could actually die from the intensity of it,

As if the pain is just too much to bear.

But grief is not just a wound.

It is a testament.

It is a testament to the depth of love you can feel,

A testament to your bravery and courage to love fully and completely.

Take a moment now to bring to mind the person or creature you're grieving.

Perhaps a beloved family member,

A dear friend or a cherished pet.

As you bring their memory into your heart,

Notice the emotions that arise.

You may feel the sharp pang of loss,

The ache of missing them,

The heaviness of sorrow.

Allow these feelings to be there,

Acknowledging the depth of your love and the pain of your loss.

Instead of seeing this grief as a bottomless pit of pain,

See it as a powerful testament to the love you shared.

Grief is the other side of love.

It is the proof that your connection was real,

Meaningful and profound.

The intensity of your grief reflects the intensity of your love.

It's a reminder that you had the courage to open your heart fully.

To allow yourself to be vulnerable,

To love with all your being.

Now I want you to imagine that grief is not a breaking of your heart.

It might feel like that,

But that was never the truth.

What you feel as a breaking of your heart is actually a tapping on your heart.

It's a gentle knock from the one you loved,

Reminding you that they're still with you.

That their love and energy are still surrounding you,

Permeating through every part of your being.

Yes,

Their physical form has left.

Their essence,

Their spirit,

That,

That has not gone.

We are all divine,

Universal energy.

We are spiritual beings having a human,

A sentient experience.

When we leave our bodies,

We do not disappear.

We become part of everything.

Try and visualize now that the one you grieve has become part of the air you breathe.

Part of the trees that sway in the wind.

Part of the sunlight that warms your skin.

They are part of the earth beneath your feet and the stars that twinkle in the night sky.

Their energy is everywhere,

Around you and within you.

Always present,

Always loving,

Always protecting you.

The feeling of your heart breaking is them tapping on your heart just to let you know that they are here with you.

So as you breathe deeply,

Feel their presence in your heart now.

That feeling of longing,

Of missing them is not just pain.

It is their love reaching out to you.

Tapping on your heart saying,

I am here.

I am with you.

Imagine their love wrapping around you like a warm,

Comforting blanket.

Soothing your sorrow and reminding you that you are never truly alone.

And silently repeat to yourself.

Grief is a testament to my love.

I honor the connection we share.

I feel your presence with me now.

Guiding me,

Loving me,

Protecting me.

I know you are here with me now.

Allow these words to sink deeply into your being to become a part of you.

Your grief is not something to be feared or avoided.

It is a powerful reminder of the love that still exists.

Of the connection that can never be broken.

The one you love is still with you.

Their energy intertwined with yours.

Their love is surrounding you and supporting you.

So take a moment now.

Visualize this connection.

See a beautiful glowing thread of light that stretches from your heart to theirs.

A thread that is unbreakable.

Eternal.

No matter where they are.

No matter how much time has passed.

This thread remains strong.

A testament to the love you shared and will continue to share.

As you begin to bring your awareness back to the present moment now.

Take a few more deep breaths.

Feeling the presence of your loved one with you.

Feel their love with you now.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

Carrying this sense of connection and love with you as you move forward.

Grief is not a pain to be endured.

It is a reminder of the love that lives on.

The connection that continues.

And the presence of those who have touched your life so deeply.

You are strong.

You are brave.

And you are capable of transforming your grief into a source of strength and connection.

Trust in the love that never dies.

Trust in the presence that is always with you.

And trust in the power of your own heart to heal and to carry forward the legacy of the love you have shared.

Extremely cathartic. I didn’t know I needed to cry until I played this. Thank you for helping me heal 🙏🏽

hi Saskia - this is a great meditation! I can see it also applying to grief regarding letting go of the baggage of the past or a failed relationship. The latter is iffy at best because maybe you are relieved by the break up. Anyway, I am griefing over what I once was and saying goodbye to the old me. You truly have a gift of understanding and a knowledge of self that I strive for. ❤️

Grief is hard, loosing 6 people in a two year span took a toll. But I see reminders of them all the time. Thank you for reminding me that they are still with me. 🦋
