A Body Scan To Feel Expansive

We will be inviting a sense of spaciousness into our body. Because the more space we can hold in our nervous systems, the more safety we feel. The more safe we feel, the more we can allow Gratitude, Acceptance, Compassion to unfold in our lives. People often think desiring ‘expansion’ requires focusing on expansion. We're taught expansion from the perspective of visualizing it, but until we have enough space in our nervous system, we can’t expand. This is why we must tune into the BODY first.

Transcript

Welcome to day two of this meditation journey.

Find yourself in a comfortable seated position,

Spine nice and tall.

If you'd like to feel more energized,

Allow your palms to be facing up to the ceiling,

To the sky.

And if you'd like to feel more grounded and relaxed,

Allow your palms to face down towards the earth and close your eyes.

Our body is full of sensory tissues,

All connected to our nervous system.

And our nervous system is integral in the way we perceive and receive the world around us.

Our bodies create our worlds.

By recharging the body and releasing any tension,

Stiffness,

Tightness,

Contraction in the body,

We are able to create the space for expansion.

Let us begin by inhaling through the nose while lifting the shoulders all the way up to your ears,

Squeezing it nice and tight,

And letting them drop back down with the exhale.

Couple more times just like that to bring yourself to this moment.

Notice how you're sitting,

What you're sitting on.

Are you able to sense the feedback from what you're sitting on?

Is it soft?

Is it hard?

How much of your body is in contact with the seat beneath you?

And now inviting a deeper inhalation and an even longer exhale to sink into the seat of yours even more,

Tapping into the sensation of feeling rooted,

Supported,

And stable.

Now imagining,

Visualizing,

Sensing a beautiful golden white light flowing down from the ceiling,

From the sky,

And into the crown of your head.

Allow it to flow down to your eyebrows,

Relaxing both of your eyebrows,

Moving to the center,

The point in between your eyebrows,

Your pineal gland,

Or third eye,

Allowing this light to travel down to your eye sockets,

Inviting a nice breath in here.

And as you exhale,

Feel your eyelids getting heavier.

Good.

Imagining this beautiful light traveling down to your cheeks,

Your jaw,

Relaxing your tongue.

If you're holding any tension in your lower jaw,

You may part your lips just a bit to make sure you're not holding any tension there.

Now imagining this light traveling down your neck,

Relaxing the front,

Sides,

The back of your neck,

Moving this bright,

Shining light now to our shoulders and arms.

We carry so many of our responsibilities and problems on our shoulders,

Sometimes other people's too.

Let the white golden light brighten this area and transmute these heavy energies into flow,

Into ease,

Into grace,

And feel the sensations as you allow this light to move from your shoulders down to your upper arms,

The elbows,

Your forearms,

Wrists,

Palms of your hand,

Out through all your fingertips.

Deep breath in here.

And let it go.

Now bring your attention,

Bringing this light now to your chest and abdomen,

Feeling the movement in your chest as you breathe.

And imagining this light getting brighter and brighter and bigger and bigger.

How does this feel?

To take up so much space,

To be able to shine the light within you,

All around you as well.

When we feel safe in our bodies and create sacred space within us,

We are able to access all the answers and directions that we need.

We are able to connect to the direct line of source of higher power.

This is our knowing,

Our eternal wisdom.

Visualizing this white golden light now travel to continue down to your stomach,

Relaxing all the organs,

Large intestine,

Small intestine,

Stomach,

Liver,

Gallbladder,

All these functions working day and night to keep you healthy and happy.

Our stomachs hold our immune system.

They create all these feel-good hormones.

Can we shine this light through our breaths and lighten any dark spots in this part of the body?

Good.

Allow this cleansing light to travel down to your genitals,

Noticing if you're holding any tension in your perineum and inviting a nice breath in to relax.

Moving to the back,

Noticing the upper back and lower back,

Directing this cleansing light onto that area.

Now allowing this light to travel down to your hips,

Your thighs,

Your knees,

Calf,

Shin,

Ankles,

All the way down to your feet,

To the soles of your feet.

And allowing this white golden light to release through the soles of your feet and into the ground,

Into the earth,

Moving,

Entering every single layer,

Every single crevice of this earth until it reaches the center so that now you are a column of beautiful cleansing white golden light,

Clearing any sense of heaviness,

Any darkness,

Any stagnant energy that you may be holding in your body and in your being,

Inviting a deep breath in here.

And let go.

Beautiful.

Notice how much space you have created.

By creating this space,

We are also clearing the body.

And when we clear the body,

We bring soundness of mind.

So in this state right now,

I invite you to affirm silently or out loud,

I am a magnet for miracles.

Because you are.

We all are.

I am a magnet for miracles.

I experience miracles every single day.

And notice how this feels to affirm this.

Is there something coming up?

Is there resistance?

If there is resistance,

Noticing where you are feeling it in the body.

Is it your throat?

Maybe your navel.

Maybe your back.

Maybe your head.

And using the breath to channel and invite more light in that area.

Inhaling light,

Exhaling darkness.

Notice how you feel now.

Notice how much more rooted and grounded you are in your being.

And set the intention to carry this feeling throughout the rest of your day.

You may lay down now and just enjoy this restful state for a bit longer.

If you feel complete,

Kiss both the palms of your hands together and begin to rub,

Creating some heat,

Some friction.

Cupping your eyes and feeling the warmth from the palms of your hand.

Travel into your eye sockets,

Gently waking them up.

Before opening up your eyes,

Taking a deep inhale in here,

Breathing into the palms of your hands.

Exhaling out.

Rolling your eyes clockwise three times,

Counterclockwise three times.

And very slowly,

Lowering your hands and opening up your eyes with a nice,

Beautiful smile.

This completes day two.
