Hello,
And thank you for joining me today to practice gratitude and thankfulness.
We begin in moments where it's hard to find the light.
Let's find it together.
Begin by taking in the biggest breath you've taken all day.
A deep inhale and a long,
Long exhale.
After your exhale,
Take in another nice,
Slow breath,
Sipping in the air and breathing out.
We will begin by thanking our body.
Each part so special with its own purpose.
We'll start with the feet.
Thank them for where they've walked us to,
What they've led us away from,
How they can connect and deeply root to the ground.
And our legs,
Our legs which hold so much throughout the day.
Remind yourself,
No matter how you feel about your body,
The tendons and the muscles that make it so you can go where you want to go,
Climb,
Hike,
Walk,
Swim.
Give yourself a moment to be grateful.
And up towards our stomach,
A place that we often have a lot of difficulty with.
It's easy for us to judge,
Yet it's here with us through every moment.
It survived and lived with us.
It does such wonderful processes to help us survive.
It keeps us safe from infections.
And even children can grow inside.
Let's take a moment to open this chest,
Shoulders up,
Back and down.
Let's allow our chest to project up towards the sky,
Taking in a strong breath.
Our chest leads us.
It shows assertiveness,
Confidence and power.
And at any time,
Any day,
You can always bring those shoulders up,
Back and down and feel the strength in this new foundation.
Now,
Down to the arms and the hands.
What powerful and incredible things our hands do.
They shake when they meet someone new.
They can hold children,
Animals,
Loved ones.
Flowers.
Feel the air,
The ocean,
The leaves.
They can help.
They can save.
There are countless things that our hands do for us.
No matter how yours look,
They are powerful.
And lastly,
Up to our face.
What phenomenal things are happening here.
We have a mouth that gets to taste incredible food.
Hydrate,
Drink and fuel our body.
Speak words of love,
Sing,
Whisper,
Kiss.
All these things that give our life grace and fulfillment.
And our nose.
This nose that takes in deep breaths and controls all of our breathing.
Our lifeline.
And of course can smell delicious things.
Rain.
Fresh cut grass.
Fall leaves.
Coffee.
And lastly,
Our eyes.
How much these take in and perceive and see.
Look around you right now.
What are you seeing that you appreciate and enjoy in front of you today.
Perhaps it's a loved one.
Pet.
Beautiful surrounding.
Your safe serene home.
Enjoy.
And respect this body that's held so much.
It may have held pain,
Trauma,
Addiction,
Self harm.
And life struggles.
No matter how your body looks.
Today,
Or how it looked yesterday.
The ways that you feel like it can't do.
Or the ways that you feel like it has failed you.
Remember all the blessings it's given you.
And that it is beautiful.
Every day,
And valid.
Every day.
You are loved.
And may the Lord always be blessed today.
