So in this practice,
We're going to do a breath called candle breathing.
So candle breathing is a very simple practice.
You can do it anywhere.
And we are going to breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth with pursed lips.
So like this.
So the exhale is longer than the inhale,
Which helps to access our parasympathetic nervous system,
Which is the part of our nervous system that is a little bit like the brake.
So it kind of helps us to calm down,
To feel more grounded,
More regulated.
If you can't breathe in through the nose for whatever reason,
You can do it through,
You can breathe in through the mouth,
Also with pursed lips.
Just make sure whichever way you're doing it,
That the breath is slow,
It's gentle,
And it's soft.
So we're not doing any forceful breaths.
So we'll do 10 rounds of candle breathing together.
So take a nice deep breath in.
And deep breath out.
And then we'll begin.
So inhaling,
Exhale through pursed lips.
Inhale.
You can have your eyes open or closed.
Inhale.
Just keep your shoulders nice and soft.
Inhale.
Inhale.
Soften your jaw.
Inhale.
Two more inhale.
Last one.
Beautiful,
So just release this pattern of breath.
And again,
Just simply notice how you feel in your body,
How you feel in your mind.
