Hi,
And welcome to this relaxing beach meditation.
Come into a comfortable position,
And if it feels right to you,
Allow your eyes to gently close.
And as you settle in,
Just breathe naturally and begin to notice your breath as it enters and leaves your body.
See if you can relax your body by releasing any areas of tension.
With each breath out,
Allow your arms and legs to go heavy,
Feeling them become loose and relaxed.
Relaxing your jaw,
Your neck and your shoulders,
Allowing the shoulders to drop away from the ears and allowing some slack in the jaw.
And simply continue to breathe,
Breathing in fully and pausing for a moment at the top of the breath and then releasing the breath fully out of your mouth.
Drawing in another deep breath,
Pausing for a moment at the top and fully releasing it out of your mouth.
Noticing that perhaps you may feel more calm.
Noticing any sensations of relaxation in the top of your head,
All the way down to the soles of your feet.
Again,
Allowing your entire body to rest heavily on the surface beneath you.
It can be helpful to think of your breath cycle as the surf lapping on the shore.
Let your belly rise and fall with every wave to release tightness.
Being sure to keep the transitions between the breaths soft.
If you still have some tension in your body,
Imagine how it might be soothed if you were caressed by the sunlight or immersed in the water.
Noticing other sensations that you might experience on this beach.
Maybe noticing how the air smells.
Noticing if there's a breeze.
Noticing the sounds,
Sounds of the waves lapping against the shore.
Welcome any feelings that surface and release them with every exhale.
Feeling peaceful and relaxed.
Allowing all your stresses to melt away.
And when you're ready to return from the beach,
Do so slowly.
Gently bringing yourself back to your alertness and awareness.
Yet maintaining this feeling of calm and relaxation.
Feeling ready to return to your day.
Maybe begin to bring some movement to your body by wiggling the fingers or the toes or rolling your shoulders.
And when you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
Thank you so much for joining me in this practice today.
I hope you have a peaceful,
Wonderful day.
