Here is a short meditation to help you drift off to dreamland.
So let's start by relaxing and getting your mind and body ready for sleep.
With your eyes closing,
Begin by taking in three deep,
Relaxing breaths.
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
So with your eyes closed,
Let's relax your body.
Feeling your head and your jaw relax as you sink into your pillow.
Allowing your shoulders and elbows to relax.
As your hands and fingers become heavy in your bed.
Feeling your back and your stomach and your hips sink into your bed.
And allowing your knees and your feet and your toes to totally relax.
Now with your eyes closed,
I want you to imagine you are in a beautiful garden.
And as you look up,
It's night time,
But there is a full moon so you can see clearly all around you.
You feel safe and secure in this place.
As you continue to look around,
You notice a pathway leading down to the water's edge.
You hear the water softly lapping against the shore.
You walk down the path towards the shore and you notice that there is a boat waiting to take you on a journey.
You step onto the boat,
Feeling safe and secure and warm.
You snuggle into a large pillow that is on this boat and you pull the blankets over you.
You feel the boat gently leaving the shore and you know that you are safe.
The boat travels further out into the ocean and you feel the gentle rock of the boat upon the ocean.
You feel safe at all times.
This is your boat and the gentle movement of the boat as it glides across the ocean slowly rocks you to sleep.
So allowing yourself to drift off to dreamland just as the boat drifts across the ocean.
