To begin,
Get in a comfortable seated position.
Rest your hands on top of your thighs.
Relax your eyelids and allow your gaze to soften and rest and focus.
Breathe deeply,
Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.
Inhale for the count of 4 and exhale for the count of 4.
Stop counting and allow your breathing to fall into a natural and easy rhythm.
Pay attention to what your breath feels like.
Tune into the rising and falling sensation in your body from your belly to your shoulders.
If random thoughts,
Work tasks,
Errands or deadlines pop into your head,
Don't push them out or linger on them.
Instead imagine each one as a harmless cloud floating on by.
This helps you acknowledge the thoughts and preoccupations of the mind without responding to them emotionally.
If a thought still lingers,
Simply take a few seconds to acknowledge it,
Then gently return to the focus of your breath.
Meditation is not about stopping thoughts but recognizing that we are more than our thoughts and our feelings.
Feelings come and go like clouds in the sky.
Conscious breathing is your anchor.
If you have a clear mind,
You won't have to search for direction.
Direction will come to you.
Listen to your heart and honour its connection to the hearts of others.
Allow love to fill you up and guide you in all of your actions.
Gracefully move to the rhythm of life.
It's now time to bring in our mantra.
I let it come,
I let it go,
I let it flow.
I let it come,
I let it go,
I let it flow.
I let it come,
I let it go,
I let it flow.
I let it flow,
I let it flow,
I let it flow.
Now slowly bring your attention back to your breath.
Sit with this feeling within you right now.
How are you feeling?
Do you feel lighter?
More calm?
Perhaps even a little bit more blissful?
Become aware of this beautiful energy you have created within you.
Remember this beautiful peaceful energy is always here for you no matter where your day ends up going.
You can always close your eyes and come back to yourself whenever you need to.
Slowly open your eyes.
May you be blessed with health,
Strength and all the love you deserve.
Namaste.
