Giving yourself this moment to orient into the space.
You are welcome here,
Holding you,
Always.
I record these audios now on the road,
So I'm recording this in a specific place.
I'm going to share where this is so you can orient to the sounds and where I am,
And then the invitation is to orient to where you are in this moment,
In this time.
I live in a van currently with my three children,
My dog and my cat,
And I'm recording this in Morocco.
I'm currently in a place known as Paradise Valley.
I'm parked up in this really beautiful hill area where you can hear the birds,
Maybe the breeze.
There are flowers surrounding me,
Birds flying overhead,
And I'm sitting on a stone rooting into the earth alongside you.
So give yourself this moment and this time to orient into your own space and your own time.
Find yourself either seated or maybe you're walking.
Give yourself a moment to look around the space.
Notice the space that you're in,
Taking in breaths,
Inhales,
And exhales.
As you land in,
Keep looking around the space,
Scanning the space until you find something nourishing.
Once you find this item,
This thing,
Maybe a really small speck,
Maybe it's something greater than that,
Maybe it's a whole object.
Pause with it and breathe into the body,
Deeply down,
And allow yourself to remain with this item,
This speck,
Knowing it's there whenever you need.
And the invitation is to remain with eyes closed or open as and when,
Bringing your eyes to a close if it feels nourishing right now and safe to do so,
Otherwise allowing yourself a neutral gaze with your item,
The thing that's drawn you in today.
Maybe as this is a postpartum first 40 days check-in,
Maybe give yourself this moment with your baby sleeping in your arms.
Maybe the baby is right with you,
Next to you,
Lying along your legs or in a crib nearby.
Maybe you're feeding,
Maybe you're rocking,
Maybe you're in your own half-asleep moment.
Give yourself this time,
This moment,
To check in with your body,
Your mind,
Your soul,
Allowing yourself to be held even deeper than you have,
Even just five minutes before you began this audio,
Holding yourself as deeply as possible in these first 40 days.
And even when you are resting,
Tending and acknowledging yourself,
Do it again,
Hold yourself deeper still.
So to begin with,
Checking in with where your baby is,
Let's return back to the baby,
Where is the baby in this moment and what do you need in order to give yourself this time where the baby has everything that the baby needs and now you can allow yourself to receive everything that you need in order to be held.
Maybe this needs pausing in order to tend to the baby,
Maybe the baby is in a sling,
Maybe you're walking with the baby asleep,
Maybe the baby is asleep and again maybe you're feeding.
To begin with,
Checking in with your breath,
Checking in with how deep the breath moves in the body,
Taking a few breaths now and not changing the breath but just noticing the breath.
Allowing yourself to check in now with the diaphragm,
The diaphragm lies like a hammock,
Upside down,
Under the lungs,
Holding the lungs,
Moving with every inhale and exhale,
Which is connected to the pelvic floor.
So in those first 40 days,
Allowing yourself to simply breathe and connect with this diaphragm space is an endless gift.
Give yourself time to now deepen the breath to connect with the diaphragm so you're taking fuller breaths.
Nothing to change,
I'm not even going to count but just allow yourself to take deeper breaths,
Moving the diaphragm,
Noticing the diaphragm as you do so.
Just noticing what is your capacity to breathe right now,
How deep is the breath?
Maybe the invitation here could be to just allow this exhale out of the mouth while opening the mouth so there's a fuller exhale,
Deepening the exhale through the nose and nasal inhale and then exhale out of the mouth for a few more rounds.
And now we're going to turn to checking in with our thoughts.
Thoughts that are coming and going,
Allowing them in,
Allowing them through.
Any thoughts that arise in your mind,
Maybe they're thoughts that are arising around this moment,
Maybe there are thoughts arising from the day,
Maybe there are thoughts arising from your birth.
And as any thoughts move into your mind,
Allow yourself to notice them,
Not change them,
Not adjust them,
But allow them in and then allow them out again so that you feel as though that you've tended to those thoughts.
If there are thoughts around your birth,
What do you need right now to feel tended to around whatever's arising?
Be with whatever's coming up and allow yourself to be held in that right here and right now.
Continuing to take those breaths into the body as the thoughts arise,
And deeply taking the breath in and allowing the breath out through the mouth,
Being with the thoughts.
And now turning your focus to your body,
Noticing the body as it sits or walks or lies in this moment.
Notice the body,
Notice if there are any bruises,
If you have any tears,
Noticing them,
Any scars,
Being with them.
Directing the breath to any bruises,
Any tears,
Any scars,
Any tenderness,
Any aches.
Noticing any space that needs to be created within the body by directing that breath to those areas in the body.
And once you move to a particular area and breathe into that space,
Notice if it adjusts and move the breath to another area of the body.
And I'll hold you here in this for a moment as you breathe into these spaces and places.
And allowing this moment to continue on outside of this audio space,
Where you tend to those spaces of the breath within your day,
Within pauses.
And now turning your attention to your bath field and noticing all that has opened up around your soul,
Around the body.
Noticing that field that has opened.
And when we refer to the field,
We're referring to the energetics of bath,
The space around the bath,
How the energy feels around the body.
Noticing the bath field.
Noticing all that has arisen in that space.
And even extending the breath to this area,
This bath field.
Noticing what arises for you and holding you here for a moment.
And allowing this time to close.
I'm holding you as you gently close this space,
Knowing that you can continue to hold yourself for as long as you need after this audio closes.
Allow yourself this moment to maybe either remain as you are,
Hold your body in some particular way,
Maybe holding at heart or turning into a fetal position or stretching the body,
Giving yourself a stretch if that feels welcomed.
And if your eyes are closed,
You can either keep them closed as this finishes or the invitation is to open the eyes towards the item that you noticed before you closed your eyes.
Or maybe you're already with your item.
The thing,
The spec,
Whatever it was that you checked in with before you closed your eyes.
At the beginning of this audio.
And notice if it's changed in any particular way.
And give yourself everything that you need in this first 40 days.
And I'm right here with you,
Celebrating you,
Holding you,
Cheerleading you as you give yourself that tenderness.
So much love.
