Welcome to this guided meditation on the inner child and playfulness.
I have rooted it in the Buddhist practice of cultivating a deep sense of joy,
Spontaneity,
And creativity.
This practice helps to reconnect with the sense of wonder and curiosity that we often lose as adults,
And to bring a deep sense of joy,
Freedom,
And well-being.
As we proceed,
Feel free to adjust your posture,
Ensuring that you are comfortable,
Relaxed,
And alert.
Let's begin by finding a comfortable seated position,
Either on a cushion,
On a chair,
Or on the floor.
Gently close your eyes or lower your gaze,
Taking a moment to allow your body to relax into whatever posture you have chosen.
Take a few slow,
Deep breaths in,
Inhaling through the nose,
And exhaling.
As you breathe in,
Allow the air to fill your lungs,
And as you breathe out,
Try and release any tension or stress that may have built up for any number of reasons.
Now,
Bring your mind to an image of yourself as a child.
Imagine yourself playing,
Exploring,
And discovering the world around you.
Recognize the sense of joy,
Wonder,
And curiosity that you experienced as a child,
And allow yourself to fully embrace and celebrate this sense of playfulness.
As you connect with your inner child,
Allow yourself to feel that sense of joy,
Spontaneity,
And creativity that you experienced as a child.
Allow yourself to let go of any self-judgment,
Doubt,
Or fear,
And fully embrace and celebrate this present moment.
Now,
Visualize yourself playing and exploring the world around you,
Just as you did as a child.
Allow yourself to fully engage with your senses,
Noticing the sights,
Sounds,
Smells,
And textures of the world around you.
Allow yourself to fully embrace the sense of joy,
Freedom,
And creativity that comes with playfulness.
As you continue to play and explore,
Recognize that playfulness is a powerful practice that can bring a deep sense of joy,
Freedom,
And well-being.
Playfulness helps us to reconnect with our inner child,
To embrace the present moment,
And to release any self-judgment or self-doubt.
As we conclude this meditation,
Take a few slow,
Deep breaths,
Feeling the sense of joy,
Freedom,
And playfulness that you have cultivated.
Recognize that playfulness is a practice that requires courage,
Curiosity,
And creativity,
And that working with it can help bring us a sense of joy,
Freedom,
And authenticity of self.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes and return to your surroundings,
Carrying the sense of joy and playfulness that you've cultivated with you as you go about your day.
May you be well,
And may your practice of playfulness continue to bring you a deep sense of joy,
Freedom,
And well-being.
Thank you.
