Namaste,
Welcome everyone.
Beautiful to see you all.
As we gather,
Let's begin with a short humming experience to arrive.
And settle into this space.
I will accompany us on the monochord.
Just let me know if you can hear it okay Take a comfortable position.
If you like,
Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Notice the gentle movement of your body with each inhale.
And each exhale.
If it feels natural you can place one hand on your chest.
Or simply rest your hands wherever you feel comfortable.
Allow the breath to deepen slightly.
Gently breathing in.
Slowly breathing out.
At your own pace.
When it feels natural,
Allow the exhale to become a soft hum.
There is no need to hum with every breath.
Just letting the sound appear when it wants to.
Soft and simple.
Effortless sounds.
And whenever it feels complete for you.
Allow the humming to gently come to a natural end Returning to awareness of your breath,
Gently nourishing your body.
Notice how you feel right now.
Maybe something has softened.
Maybe nothing obvious has changed?
Both are perfectly welcome whenever you're ready.
Slowly open your eyes.
You like sharing the chat how you feel now.
Maybe relaxed,
Maybe curious.
Present,
Or simply say hi.
For those who may be new here,
My name is Monika.
I'm a yoga and meditation teacher,
Mantra guide and sound practitioner.
And over the last sessions we have explored humming as a way to calm the nervous system,
To connect with vibration and to experience sound from within.
Today we continue that journey,
But we take another small step.
Because until now we have mostly explored humming on a single tone.
Today we begin to explore what happens when the vibration starts to move.
Not to create music,
Not to sing beautifully,
Of course you can if you wish,
But simply to notice how the body responds when sound becomes a little more playful.
Let's experience this directly.
If you wish you can again place a hand on your chest.
Take a gentle inhale.
And hum one comfortable tone softly on the exhale.
Simply notice where the vibration appears.
Again,
Gentle inhale.
Notice the vibration.
The steadiness.
The simplicity of humming.
Let's hum again.
Beautiful.
Now let's try something slightly different.
Begin on one tone and gently move a little higher as you hum before returning.
Gentle inhale.
Again.
Notice the gentle shifts in the body If you like,
Notice the vibration and what feels different,
If it feels different.
Let's hum again a few times.
Notice if different areas of the body respond There is no right answer of course.
We are simply becoming curious.
Let's do that again.
Humming on one tone now.
And letting the tone move.
Beautiful.
When we hum on a single tone,
The nervous system often experiences steadiness.
A sense of grounding.
A sense of staying.
So sometimes that's exactly what we are looking for.
And when we begin moving through the tones,
Something else can emerge.
And sometimes we want that.
Like movement.
Curiosity or playfulness.
Sometimes different tones seem to resonate in different ways,
Not because we are trying to make something happen,
But because the body naturally responds to the vibration and the sound.
And today we will simply explore.
That possibility together.
We will explore the different tones and I will accompany us on the harmonium.
Let's dive into the practice.
Let's begin by allowing the body to soften into the vibration and the sound.
Allow your jaw to relax.
And love yourself.
To relax.
In the drone sound of the harmonium.
Allow yourself to relax in the movement of your breath.
Slow deep inhale and a long exhale release any tension that you may be holding in your body.
Allow the tees to separate slightly.
Allow the tongue to soften.
Allow your throat to relax if you wish,
Invite gentle movements into your body circling the shoulders or your neck Just allow yourself to relax into the sound.
Let's start with humming on one tone.
Allow yourself to relax.
In the sound of your own voice.
You Find a comfortable rhythm.
As we did before,
No need to hum with every exhale.
Just allow the hum to appear whenever it feels right.
Allow your body to move,
If your body wishes to move.
This practice is for you.
So beautiful.
Beautiful.
Now,
I will hum a simple pattern first Simply listen.
And then we will hum it together.
There is no need to get it exactly right.
Just following the way that feels natural to you.
You may wish to close your eyes to connect more deeply with the sounds.
You Together.
You you Notice what you feel.
Together.
Allow the breath to flow freely and the humming sound to nourish your body.
You you together.
Let your attention follow the movement.
It's so beautiful.
Enjoy the vibration in your body.
Mmm.
Together.
You the breath to flow naturally.
Whenever you need to breathe Allow your body to breathe together.
You Mmmmmmm.
Thank you.
You Mmm.
Try and aim them to be snug.
You allowing the vibration to move through your whole body.
Relaxing and nourishing every cell.
Slowly allow the humming to fade.
Notice what remains.
Notice the quietness.
Notice any lingering vibration.
Any sensations still present in the body.
The sound may have stopped.
But the body may still be listening.
That slowly slowly returns.
Allow your breath to deepen gently.
Perhaps bring some gentle movement into your body.
And when you're ready slowly open your eyes.
Take a moment just to notice what remains.
Perhaps a sense of vibration.
Perhaps a sense of quiet.
Or simply the experience of having explored something new today.
How was it for you to move through different tones today?
Did one pattern feel especially natural?
Or perhaps different from what you expected.
Or what are you noticing right now in your body?
Or in the quiet that remains.
Whatever is here is welcome and you're very welcome to share if you like.
Thank you so much for joining.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for exploring the power of humming with me today.
Let's just take one final gentle hum together.
Itself.
Place your hand on your chest if you like.
Gently close your eyes.
Then let's take a long soft inhale and a long humming exhale together.
Thank you all for practicing,
For exploring.
For allowing this experience.
You can return to this at any time,
Just a few breaths and a soft hum.
I look forward to humming together again soon.
Thank you so much for joining.
Take care of yourselves.
Wish you a wonderful rest of your day.
Or a start in your day,
Or a good evening and a good night.
Take care,
Bye bye!
See you soon!
