Allow yourself to be completely free.
Free from worries.
Free from wanting.
Free from doing.
You already spend enough time,
More than enough time,
With wanting,
With doing,
That this invitation becomes a welcome change for rest.
Rest cannot happen without letting go.
Depth cannot happen without letting go.
Peace cannot happen without letting go.
And I know this instruction of letting go is very vague.
Until you know what it means,
It is extremely vague.
It doesn't give any information about what to do.
As thinkers and doers,
It's very hard for us to understand that which is a non-action.
Because letting go is a non-action.
It's a negative action.
And for the mind,
Negative action is an alien concept.
And there is a fear of the mind that if I let this go,
Then what do I hold on to?
That's why you will find yourself always occupied with something or the other.
Either with doing,
With thinking,
Analyzing,
Strategizing,
Chit-chatting,
Or merely talking to someone,
Or fidgeting.
Letting go,
Not doing,
Is beyond the job description of the mind.
That's why these instructions are not for the mind,
They are for you.
Letting go simply means that you be with yourself,
Not with anything else.
You don't need thoughts to be with yourself.
You don't need actions and fidgeting to be with yourself.
You don't need to talk to others to be with yourself.
So the real invitation of this meditation is to just be with yourself.
Fully be with yourself.
You are with yourself when you are asleep,
But you don't know that.
So knowingly,
Fully,
Just be with yourself,
Without any crutch of doing,
Thinking,
Talking.
Even as children we found it extremely difficult when we were told not to do something.
That's how our mind is programmed.
But you are more than your mind.
That's why I'm speaking directly to you.
Let go of all crutches.
And once you are with yourself,
There is nothing else to be done.
Of course,
There is no drama,
No difficulty,
Nothing to complain,
No problem,
When you are just with yourself.
So the mind might get bored.
Waste of time for the mind.
Understand this tendency of the mind to find problems and drama as a way of its existence and operation.
And then let go.
You might discover that the moment you step away,
Something's wrong with something or the other or everything.
True peace,
True rest only happens when you are collected,
Centered with yourself.
And you might also recognize that the more you fight outside,
Away from yourself,
To get to peace,
The farther you are going away from it.
Nothing in the world will ever be perfect.
Forever.
Forever.
So this endeavor that you are embarking on,
The mind is embarking on,
Has a chance to succeed in a gazillion years.
But just for a moment.
Because after that,
Things will start crumbling.
Changing.
And the perfection will end.
And you will be back to restlessness and conflict and fight.
See if you can find this key to open the doors of peace and happiness.
In the non-action of letting go.
And if the objection from the mind is that,
Oh,
I can't do this temporarily.
What will happen when I open my eyes or go back to the quote-unquote real world?
Understand that this dive into peace is washing you.
Washing your habits.
Deepening you.
Even reshaping your mind.
So when you do end up going back,
It will not be the same.
You will be in touch with you.
Recognize that all doing,
All wanting,
All chasing is happening there,
Away from you.
As if you are going deeper into the ocean and you can feel and you can see the waves on the surface.
But muted.
They seemed very choppy when you were on the surface,
But as you are going deeper into yourself,
Into the depth of yourself,
All those waves start getting muted.
Non-operational.
Becoming one with our doing,
Wanting,
Becoming one with the problems keeps us agitated.
You might have noticed that when you wake up in the morning,
For a few seconds,
There is peace.
There are no problems.
Until you remember what you have to do and then the chemistry in your body can be felt as changed instantly.
There is panic.
Stress may not be fully blown up,
But there is a definite change in chemistry,
Even in your body.
The peaceful state of your mind also starts becoming agitated.
The rest and peace that you experienced in your sleep is fully gone in a few seconds.
And all this happens because of identification,
Embracing of the problems.
And I'm not saying we shouldn't solve problems or run away from them or pretend that they are not even there.
I'm just pointing out the mechanism with which agitation happens.
Because in your sleep the problem was still there.
You just didn't,
You just weren't identified with it.
That's what I'm proposing with open eyes or with awareness when you're not asleep to not identify with problems.
They are there.
You need to act without losing touch with yourself.
And don't fall for this hypnosis that our mind has created that there is a point in time,
Somewhere in the future,
Where there will be no problems in your life for the rest of your life.
I'm sure when I put my hand on your shoulder,
And put it this way,
You recognize that as long as we are alive,
As long as we are in this world of people,
Situations and things,
There will be something to do,
Something to solve,
Something to engage with.
That's just a part of living.
So this hyperness that we have in our mind can relax and we can come back in touch with ourselves.
And every time we lose our way,
We can close our eyes and find ourselves back by letting go.
And you'll find yourself exactly in the same place,
In the same placeless place that you have found yourself now,
Instantaneously.
And you'll find yourself in the same state,
Unperturbed,
Free.
The only difference between being on the surface of the ocean and going to the depth is letting go.
The depth will take you in.
The only difference between being agitated and being in touch with yourself is letting go.
Everything comes to an end here.
All struggle,
All boredom,
All doing,
All wanting.
You're always free.
You're always here.
And you're always now.
Thank you.
