Slow down.
Slow down from all adventures.
Let your breath slow down.
Let your heartbeat slow down.
There is nowhere to reach.
You are already where you wanted to be.
Now relax.
Stop the chase.
Become aware of the tendency of trying to find the next thing.
What next?
All that we experience happens here without any affiliation to what's next.
Let's familiarize ourselves with our own experience that is happening in this moment.
I read this beautiful quote the other day.
It said,
The whole universe is in peace.
No one is rushing,
Pushing or worrying.
Except humans.
Allow this rushing,
Pushing and worrying to rest in you.
To rest in this moment.
To rest in this understanding.
What you are looking for is peace that can be only found while being fully engaged with life without rushing,
Pushing or worrying.
What your mind wants is relief at the end of pushing,
Worrying and rushing.
Those two are quite different.
Don't settle for something less.
The mind has this romantic idea that there is a time daily and sometime in the future where everything will be done and there won't be anything to be done.
That's why it's rushing to get to that point in time.
And we seem to be very gullible.
And we believe it.
Although we know for sure based on our intelligence and all the life we have lived so far that work begets work.
Life is movement,
Life is doing.
And we have to find a sustainable way of living with peace rather than searching for a peaceful moment in time.
What if we looked for peace in the moment itself?
Rushing through and finding relief and then rushing again,
Wouldn't it be better in every which way to live smoothly,
Engage fully?
For that we will have to see through the illusion that the mind has convinced us that relief is peace,
That there won't be anything to do.
Once you do this,
Once you get here,
Once this is done,
Every time we are trying to get there,
A different point in time,
A different point in space,
We miss living this in the pursuit of that moment.
And when we get to that moment,
We miss living it for something else.
And when we join all this together,
We get a life not lived.
This fundamental truth about our mind,
About our life gets completely missed if we are constantly busy and rushing without slowing down.
And don't even get me started on the havoc it creates in your body because of this stress.
It's our infatuation to the promise of wonderland,
That is this future moment in time when you can rest.
I can tell you from my own experience,
If you engage with life at its own pace,
Rest happens in that moment itself.
And nature takes care of anything that remains at night or during the day in a nap.
The mental drain of energy just because of this rushing,
Pushing,
Worrying interferes with us living our life.
Can you imagine how convoluted,
Crooked of a plan it is to live for the pursuit?
And when someone like me comes along and points it,
There might be regret that,
Wait,
I haven't lived so far.
So now,
Instead of living in pursuit,
We can live in regret,
Which is the opposite.
Which is still one of the sinister tendencies of the mind to live in the past.
Still pushing,
Still worrying,
Still regretting,
But instead of future events,
We are doing it to past events.
We are still not living because living is only here.
In this moment of time and in this point in space.
And this moment is not in any rush.
Your body is not in any rush.
The world is not in any rush.
Only your mind is in a rush.
The mind has kind of hypnotized us to believe that if I didn't worry,
Things won't get done.
If I didn't quote-unquote plan,
Which is its way of telling you to be obsessively,
Constantly thinking about it,
You're not doing your work.
And we have to see through this hypnosis.
Because the stakes are very high.
I remember this scene,
The start of the movie,
Saving Private Ryan,
In that movie,
Ryan is old,
And he asks his kids and grandkids this simple question.
Did I earn it?
Did I earn my life?
Did I live it well?
Because so many people had died trying to save him.
Although we don't have such dramatic lives,
The question is still relevant to all of us.
There's no award for who has pursued most.
The satisfaction,
The fulfillment only happens when you know you have lived fully.
And the only way that will happen is not because of what you have earned,
Of what you have gathered.
But how present you have been.
If you have missed all your life,
Then everything that you have gathered becomes like a highlight,
A testimonial of you living the life,
But you don't have a first-hand experience of it.
And no matter where we are,
Whatever stage of life we are in,
We can start today to break through this hypnosis,
To break through this cultural conditioning of living in pursuit,
And to merely live,
Simply live,
Without rushing.
Without pushing anything to a future point in time.
Because you and I both know that future is imaginary.
There is no such place called future.
It's an idea.
Yes.
It's an idea.
That's it.
The juice is here.
Life is here.
In the ordinary.
In this ordinary moment is life.
And the reason I say it's ordinary,
It's not ordinary.
But the reason I say it is because our mind has built this extraordinary,
Beautiful,
Futuristic moment.
And in comparison,
This moment looks pale,
Feels insufficient.
So we pursue that.
That moment is going to be as ordinary as this is,
Or as extraordinary as this is.
And in the process,
We are not using our mind fully.
Because we have already rejected this moment.
And we are pursuing that promise.
So we have to deeply penetrate this moment with our mind to fully use it.
Our mind needs to be in awe in every moment because of how extraordinary this moment is.
Not because I'm telling it,
But because you see it and feel it.
And mind is a neutral tool.
It has been programmed to act a certain way,
To behave a certain way.
But the mind has an important job to feed us thoughts.
Based on its nutrition of conditioning of mental food,
Of environment,
The thoughts that come out from the mind are proportionate.
So once you start penetrating this moment,
And the mind is in awe,
It will feed you appropriate thoughts.
Otherwise,
It's garbage in,
Garbage out.
Which would be fine,
But the cost is our life and the suffering we experience in life.
Constantly being in pursuit in future or in the past of regret.
We're only in regret,
Anger,
Anxiety,
And desperation slash panic.
The moment to moment experience of peace,
Of flow,
Is merely an idea.
So bring your mind here.
Taste this,
Dive into your mind right now and feel the peace of this moment.
I've done nothing wrong.
All I have done is used my words to slow down your mind.
I've used words to create imagery to keep it in this moment.
So that you can get a taste of how satisfying and peaceful it is to be in this moment.
Yes,
Some of you might be falling asleep because of this monotonous way of speaking.
Because the mind needs drama,
I don't have any drama today.
Very rarely you will find drama in the present moment.
Drama is of the past or the future.
It's in ideas and concepts.
Concepts and stories.
In this moment,
There is no story.
When we are aligned with this moment,
When we meet this moment at the speed with which it is unfolding,
There is harmony.
There's harmony between the world in which this moment is unfolding.
There's harmony with the body,
With the breath and with the mind.
With harmony there is peace.
Whatever that can be achieved with rushing,
Pushing and worrying can be achieved without rushing,
Pushing and worrying.
Your eyes need to see it.
Otherwise,
The mind will only dismiss it.
Slow down.
Life is not in a rush.
Live fully.
Live deeply.
Thank you.
