Dear friend,
In this moment you may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety,
A feeling that can seem so powerful and all consuming.
But it's important to remember that anxiety,
While uncomfortable,
Is a natural response our bodies have developed to protect us.
It is okay to feel the way you feel now,
To feel this way.
It's hard,
But it's okay.
It doesn't define you,
Nor does it mean that you're weak.
It actually takes a lot of strength to keep going.
Let's take a gentle pause together now.
Know that this feeling,
As intense as it may seem,
Is temporary.
Just like a storm passing through,
This too will pass.
While it's here,
Try to acknowledge your anxiety,
Without any judgment.
It's just a part of you that's reacting to stress,
Doing its best to keep you safe.
And it doesn't feel like that right now.
I know,
It feels like an attack on you,
But it's not that way.
It's just an out of control defense mechanism.
Imagine holding a small frightened child in your arms.
You wouldn't scold the child for being scared.
Instead,
You would comfort them,
Offer kind words,
And remind them that they are safe.
And you deserve that same compassion.
So speak to yourself as you would to that child.
It's okay to feel anxious.
I am here for you.
This moment is tough,
But it will pass.
I've been there myself,
Hiding,
Locking myself in a toilet,
Just because I felt like the world was coming in at me and I couldn't take it anymore.
But those days are gone.
I've conquered it,
And you can too.
Anxiety can often make us feel alone,
But it's such a common experience.
Many others have felt and are feeling exactly what you're going through right now.
You are part of a larger community of people who understand and share your pain.
Share these experiences.
In moments of anxiety,
It can be comforting to know that you're not alone.
There is a shared humanity in this struggle.
As you go through this,
Try to ground yourself with small acts of self-care.
It might be listening to this,
Or as simple as drinking a glass of water or wrapping yourself in a soft blanket,
Or playing a soothing song.
These small actions can help anchor you and remind you that you are taking steps to care for yourself.
And finally,
Know that you are more than this moment of anxiety.
You have faced challenges before and have come through them.
This moment is just part of your journey,
Not the whole story.
Trust in your capacity for resilience,
And know that you will find peace again.
Be kind to yourself.
Allow this experience to be a reminder of your strength and the compassion you can offer yourself.
You are worthy of peace,
And you are worthy of self-compassion,
And the fact that you are here,
Listening to this,
Shows to me that you're taking steps towards recovery.
And that day will come.
It can come.
And that day will come.
It came for me.
It will come for you.
So stick with me on this.
Meditation cured me.
I can cure you.
Wishing you peace,
Dear friend.
This will end.
