Begin by settling into a comfortable position.
Allow the body to be supported.
There's nothing to fix,
Nothing to solve right now.
Take a slow breath in.
And then allow it to gently leave the body.
Arriving here in the present moment.
Notice your thoughts.
This is not going to help.
It won't work.
I'm stuck.
Notice thoughts about money appearing.
Concerns about the future.
Questions.
Calculations.
Pressure.
And rather than trying to stop these thoughts,
We begin with awareness.
So simply say,
I'm noticing a thought about money.
Or,
I'm noticing worry.
I'm noticing fear of the future.
So look closely at your thoughts.
What are they?
Fear of future circumstances.
Maybe shame.
Fear for your family.
So again,
I'm noticing,
I'm noticing worry about my family.
And how they'll cope.
So feel the shift.
We're not saying,
I am worried.
We're saying,
I'm noticing worry.
This is helping us to gain some distance.
To be able to observe the thought.
You are not inside the thought.
You are the one noticing it.
Imagine each worry like a passing train.
You don't have to climb aboard.
Let it arrive and let it pass.
And when another thought comes,
Gently label it.
I'm noticing planning.
I'm noticing predicting.
I'm noticing my mind trying to protect me.
Nothing needs to disappear.
You are simply unhooking.
Now bring attention into the next thought.
Notice the weight of your body.
Feel the breath moving naturally.
Money anxiety often lives in imagined futures.
But choice only exists here.
Only here.
In the present can we take action that helps.
So notice the sensations in the body.
Perhaps tightness in the chest.
And not in the stomach.
Restlessness.
Even these unwanted feelings,
They still bring you into the present moment.
And in the present moment,
We can take action.
And instead of resisting any feeling,
Softly say,
I'm noticing tension.
Or,
I'm noticing pain.
Let the breath create space around the sensation.
You can feel discomfort and still be steady.
You can feel fear and still act.
Now imagine placing your money worries gently in front of you.
Not inside you,
But in front of you.
So you can see them clearly.
And see that in front of you appears a signpost.
Try to imagine that now.
This is a choice point.
Every time worry appears,
Two directions open.
One direction moves away from freedom.
Endless worrying,
Avoidance,
Scrolling,
Self-criticism,
Waiting for certainty.
The other direction moves towards freedom.
These are small actions aligned with what truly matters.
So ask yourself gently,
What matters to me beneath this worry?
Security,
Freedom,
Contribution.
Fear appears because something important matters.
Now ask,
What is one small step toward freedom I can take today?
Not to solve everything,
Just one step.
This is a towards move,
Instead of an away move.
We begin to make towards moves.
And here is a practical practice you can carry into your daily life.
So when you catch yourself having these money worries during the day,
Pause.
Break that cycle.
Instead of continuing down the worry path,
Write down exactly what appears.
And don't do this in your head,
Write it on paper or in your phone.
Name it clearly.
Then shift from worrying to creating.
Ask,
What are possible solutions?
Begin writing down the answer.
And write everything down,
Even unrealistic ones,
Even ridiculous ones.
Creativity opens possibilities that anxiety hides.
So you might ask yourself,
What do I already know that I could teach online?
What skills could I learn and begin offering as a service?
What could I sell that I no longer use?
Recently I cleared out several things I no longer use.
They were useless to me,
They'd been around for a decade or more.
A camera I sold for £85,
An unused iPod,
£60,
And even a glasses case for £13.
This was all cluttered to me,
But to someone else it was treasure,
It was worth money.
And today it's easier than ever to sell,
Teach,
Create,
Or offer something online.
And this is not to pressure you,
It's about movement.
Each written worry becomes fuel for action instead of fuel for fear.
So we're training the mind.
When worry appears,
I notice it,
I write it down,
And I turn towards solutions.
Feel what happens in the body when worry becomes direction.
You're training your brain to choose a path out of worry and into solution.
And don't look for instant answers,
Keep working at it,
Something will show up.
Worry is far worse when we don't take any kind of action.
Action stops worry in its tracks.
And now return to the breath.
Notice that fear may still be present,
And you can carry that fear while moving forward.
Silently say,
I'm noticing fear and I'm choosing what matters.
Let that settle,
Let it become a mantra,
Let it arise whenever the worry arises.
I'm noticing fear and I'm choosing what matters.
The struggle you feel around money does not mean that you are stuck,
It means you care about your life.
Each moment of awareness becomes a new choice point.
These little choices will reshape your life,
Slowly but surely.
There is a way forward,
Not by eliminating worry,
But by becoming aware of it and using it as energy for meaningful action in the present moment.
Take a deep breath.
Feel the possibility of living this day differently,
Aware,
Creative,
Responsive.
Your life is not determined by fearful thoughts,
But by the choices you make in the moment.
And each moment offers an opportunity,
A new beginning,
A new path to walk down.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And carry this awareness with you into the day and do this practice.
Get the problem down on paper,
Out of your mind and into a book.
And that book will lead you into a new life.
Have a wonderful day.
