Meet your Teacher

Through a unique blend of mindfulness, somatic experiencing & cognitive re-imagining Oliver deconstructs Anxiety in a simple fashion, helping you take apart your inner jigsaw puzzle and put it back together again. Not only are the tools in these meditations relaxing, they are easy to grasp and anchor into our memory easily because of how connected to the “feeling” you will be. You’ll learn to distinguish the difference between Emotion & Feeling. Feeling is a “present” state and emotion is usually attached to either past or future. By learning to ground your awareness & sensory feedback in the present moment not only will you feel more at ease but you’ll have better decision making and in the long term more energy & vitality. Oliver draws not only upon his skills in language here but in being able to guide you safely to surrender and to observe for a little while - without the judgment of self. If we can do this, Oliver says : “Then we are no longer bound to just read our story but we get to write it”.

Lesson 1

Body Relief

This session will get you from a 100 back down to zero, by this I mean a neutral point of calm from which we can choose to go again. Sometimes it is better to stop than to continue pouring tea into the cup. Imagine your thoughts as the tea and your body as the cup. We can learn to empty out by coming to the present moment. This is as much biological as it is mental and this can offer relief as we slowly release and realise that our mind state can change. This is a subtle yet powerful mental shift.

Lesson 2

Mind Relief

Anxious thoughts can feel heavy & sticky at the best of times but after longer periods it can feel like our mental space is littered with cobwebs, as thought after thought has overlaid on top of each other. Mental habits & patterns form around repetition & reinforcement. When life feels challenging & circumstances are immediate we can feel overrun and there is very little time & space in these periods to find the rest we need. This session will press pause on your mental chatter and then you can decide what happens next.

Lesson 3

Emotional Relief

First the body, then the mind, then the emotions. Making sense of our emotional world is extremely challenging to do when we don’t feel safe or connected to our bodies, minds or the present moments. Emotions are slippery fish and we often need a real sense of stillness & presence to discover them unless they delude us and then it can be difficult to illuminate your true feelings and thus motivations. Let your “feeling” be known to you by surrendering to the sensations. You’ll learn to distinguish the difference between Emotion & Feeling.

Oliver, thank you for this course! It has been very helpful as I am navigating a difficult situation in my life.
