In the second part of this conversation, Liz continues to explore the metaphor of the mist. In today’s 5 Minutes In Nature, she shares that she now knows where to guide people who are seeking direction in life. She always points them inward—toward their Inner Compass—because that’s the only direction that truly matters.

Hello and welcome to 5 minutes in nature with me Liz Scott and you join me for the second part of this exploration which is being inspired by the mist I'm staying in a place near Dunbar it's not far from a place called North Berwick it's on the Firth of Forth so it's the inlet that takes you towards Edinburgh and it's the ocean you might be able to hear the waves behind me I'm actually at the moment on a cliff path overlooking what should be a view all the way to the other side of the Firth of Forth but all I can see is grey mist and a little bit of the rock pools and the edges of the sea below me the mist has come in and my sight has been obscured Now yesterday I talked about North Berwick lore the conical hill,

The distinctive hill that you can see for miles around and certainly from my vantage point which is probably about 10 miles away you can see it I know from this place apart from of course today you can't because the mist has come in Now one of the things in my journey as a coach and someone on a self-development journey for many many years I felt I was looking to improve myself I was on a journey,

A seeking journey of self-improvement I felt that so long as I could improve myself I would eventually find enlightenment and what I realised having come across the three principles or the inside out understanding it set me on a journey where I knew where to look so for example in today's landscape if you came and wanted to speak to me and you wanted to know where and how you might look out for North Berwick lore the hill,

The conical shaped hill that's very distinct on the landscape I would absolutely know with certainty where to point you which direction to point you in even though you can't see anything right at the moment I would point you in the direction that you need to look that's all you need because I know that if you're looking in the right direction and if the mist lifts just temporarily then you too will know absolutely which direction to look in the future for yourself you will have had a felt experience,

A knowing experience of where this distinctive landmark is and what I can give you is the directions to look in I can't guarantee that the mist will lift but I absolutely know that if you stand looking in this direction with me you will eventually see what it is you are seeking in all the other things that I tried on my self-development journey it was like I was looking in all directions trying to find this thing,

This elusive thing that I actually wanted to see the three principles gave me a way into seeing it for myself and in seeing this for myself,

In seeing the truth of who I am I now know with absolute certainty where to point you you might sometimes find my pieces on insight time are a bit repetitive I'm constantly pointing you back to your inner compass and the reason I'm doing that is because that is the place to look that's the equivalent of me standing on this cliff with you pointing through the mist and saying that is the direction to look for North Berwick Law that's the way to look for that distinctive hill that landmark ten miles away I can do that with certainty and I can point you in that direction so today my request is that you continue to look within don't get distracted with all these tools and techniques that promise you that you might find what you're looking for there's nothing wrong with tools and techniques once you've had an experience yourself of who you truly are and as far as I can tell the way to experience that is to bring your awareness away from the distractions and bring your awareness right within you to that place of knowing,

To that place of awareness to that place of presence that then is the foundation for you to walk out in your life and to do whatever makes sense for you so keep looking within keep looking towards your inner compass and when the mist lifts you too will have an experience of who you truly are

The mist is still here for me, but I am seeking my inner compass daily. Thanks Liz. 🙏🏻😶‍🌫️
