Hello and welcome to this series of guided reflections which have been inspired by nature during January.
My name is Liz Scott.
Today we'll be reflecting on the following question.
What seeds of potential are hidden in you right now?
Let me repeat that.
What seeds of potential are hidden in you right now?
What seeds of potential are hidden in you right now?
Sit down comfortably in a chair with your feet on the floor and close your eyes.
Notice the feel of your feet on the floor and notice the darkness behind your eyelids.
In a moment I'll ask you to breathe in deeply three times and with each breath notice how your muscles unclench as you relax.
Each breath slows you down,
Relaxes you further and allows you to come to the here and now.
Breathe in and out slowly three times.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Come out with me on a cool January day and see that you are walking in what during the summer is a wildflower meadow.
Today the grass is yellow and brown and stunted and falling back to the ground.
It looks desolate.
You remember the summer days when the meadow sways with heavy grasses,
Red poppies burst through.
Buttercups grow in clumps of yellow and the tiny hint of misty blue cornflowers peep through the elegant grasses.
The contrast today on this cold January day is stark.
Everything feels lifeless.
You bring your attention to the ground at your feet.
And then you feel your awareness break through the soil and beneath the earth.
And you see and feel beneath the earth the seeds and the bulbs and the roots that are waiting for the warmth of spring to break through the ground.
Allow yourself to breathe into this hidden potential that lies beneath the soil.
Feel the hidden strength of those seeds and know that each seed contains the blueprint to create something beautiful in the world.
Today,
Nature is reminding you of a powerful truth.
That beneath the apparent stillness and lifelessness,
There is potential.
Ask yourself the question,
What is within me that is hidden deeply?
What seeds,
Bulbs or roots of potential are waiting for the right conditions to grow within you?
Take a moment to settle your mind further.
Imagine the soil of your own inner landscape.
Imagine the soil of your own inner landscape.
Beneath the surface,
Within your mind and soul,
There is a deeper intelligence,
A natural wisdom.
A wisdom that knows the potential that lies within and knows when it is time for that potential to grow.
You may feel confused and certain or at a crossroads,
Searching for answers that just seem out of reach.
If that resonates for you,
I encourage you to trust that the potential you seek already exists within you.
Like the seeds in the soil,
Your answers cannot be hurried.
Just as you cannot rush the poppies or the dandelions to bloom before their time,
You cannot force clarity or growth before its moment.
Even in the stillness of winter,
Life is present.
Beneath the surface of what seems lifeless,
Seeds are gathering strength and preparing for growth.
The same is true for you.
Trust that this deeper intelligence,
This deeper wisdom,
Deeper intelligence of life that is shared by everyone and everything and that is within you,
This deeper intelligence will awaken the seeds of your potential when the time is right.
Trust that your creativity,
Clarity and answers will emerge in their time.
You cannot force them,
But you can trust that they will come.
When the time is right,
The seeds of your potential will flourish and grow,
And you might not yet know what those seeds are and what it is that will grow through you.
Until then,
Embrace the stillness and know that growth is quietly happening,
Even if you cannot see it yet.
So,
Reflect today on the question,
What seeds of potential might be hidden within me?
It's time to come out of your guided reflection now.
So,
Notice your feet on the floor and bring your attention to the sounds around you.
Open your eyes and wriggle your shoulders,
Your back.
So,
If you have enjoyed being inspired by nature,
Then join me this January for further nature-inspired reflections.
And today,
Remember the reflection of what seeds of potential might be hidden within me.
