Hello and welcome.
My name is Lisa.
And this is a meditation for mornings when you wake up feeling overwhelmed.
Before we begin,
I just want to normalize this feeling.
Even today,
I woke up feeling incredibly overwhelmed.
And it is important to know that this doesn't mean we're lazy or failing or doing something wrong.
Sometimes waking up overwhelmed is simply the body saying please slow down,
Please come back to me,
Please Don't make me carry this whole day at once.
You don't need to figure everything out before you take your morning coffee.
Or to force yourself into a contortionist state of perfection.
All you need to do.
Is come back to your authentic,
Aligned self.
And take things one step at a time.
So with that,
If you happen to be lying down,
Or sitting up or standing,
Let's just move from where you are naturally at right now.
And I invite you to check on in with how you are feeling.
Physically.
And emotionally.
Notice where you are feeling these.
Sensations and this truth within your body.
And can you begin to send breath?
To those spaces.
Taking an active and aware inhale.
In a clearing and softening exhale.
Breathing in,
Expanding in those spaces.
And exhaling,
Releasing any excess tension and energy.
Welcoming in these sensations,
Like a small child having a temper tantrum.
Soothing them.
Coming at the energy with more compassion.
Maybe even noticing how you are reacting.
To the natural reactions of the body.
Breathing in⦠and exhaling out.
And if this body,
This emotional landscape of ours were a child or a thing.
Defenseless animal.
I did not know they did not know.
Our innocent.
Just simply reacting.
To the environment.
But with that child.
That innocent being need to feel supported today.
What do you need to feel supported today?
Breathing into that truth.
And exhale letting the rest of the world go.
From here,
Can you begin to maybe place a hand on the space where you may feel that truth or those emotions really staying present.
Maybe it's the chest,
The shoulders,
The neck,
The head,
The belly.
Or simply imagining a gentle hand being placed there.
Can you rock and sway gently from side to side?
Maybe slowly inviting natural movement.
Even if you remove your hand imagining.
That supportive hand right there.
Stretching and breathing and moving.
Slowly inviting in.
The expansive energy.
Of moving into your space exactly where you're at.
Repeating the affirmation.
I am exactly where I need to be.
I am feeling exactly what I need to feel.
And this is my day.
I am exactly where I need to be.
I am feeling exactly what I need to feel.
And this is my day moving and feeling for about a moment more,
Repeating the affirmation if it calls to you as well.
And when you are ready.
Slowly coming back.
To a point of.
.
.
Pause.
And restart.
Based on where you are at.
I invite you to set an intention,
A tone,
A wish,
A hope,
A prayer for yourself.
Based on what it is you need.
To take one small step forward.
With that intention set.
